i feel like even the best strider players are sleeping on him.

Satellite relaunch blah blah over and over is pretty much a TOD on everyone in x factor, just end it in Legion if they still have health left and it always kills. I don’t really see a point in doing the more execution semi flashy stuff when you can just do the easier faster stuff and have more time in x factor.

You can definitely play Strider risk free, to some degree, but being on the screen is a risk in Marvel and the longer you have to fight people and the more times the situation goes back to neutral, the more chances you have to die. Doesn’t matter how safe strider is. Zero is safe too but he still gets randomed out all the time, and it’s only worse with strider-man, because you won’t be killing them every hit you get, unless you’re in x factor.

I think this TAC infinite stuff helps strider out a bit though. Strider gets openings, but now he can TAC and make them really count, so it definitely opens some options for him.

Oh I agree 100 percent. Mags 2nd w strider would be so optimal. However I don’t want to rely on something that might be patched. I don’t think it should be since tacs are easy to break if your looking.

Yea you don’t need flashy to kill in xf 3. Actually most of the flashy stuff is worst because your wasting xf time when you could’ve done 3 sat relaunches and using a basic air string that you won’t miss ever and the combo kills faster but builds less meter. Naturally if its 1v1 you’ll want to confirm the kill but that only usually takes a minor adjustment.

It’s so amusing when you are using strider and the opponent will just stay on the other side of the screen waiting for a vajra while taking chip from the tigers and birds and orbs@20k each. And once they attempt to retaliate m vaj for the punish. I think everyone agrees strider lvl3 combos should kill quickly however u need to make that happen. I’m getting to the point where i rarely use meter in lvl 3 unless its to finish off the last character.

I am curious if you guys would prefer to use 3 bars to get on the last character(non x factor strider) with orbs or save it and use those 3 for ragnarok to finish the character like a wesker?

Whenever i get to this situation i just go with my gut and avoid using vajra at all unless in an obvious counter situation. Just curious as to how other striders close the deal with meter.

Does anyone have an answer for this?

As far as opening people up with orbs, I usually just wall cling with it activated and mix up the H wall dive or sliding down the wall with L, it’s surprising how effective this is when they’re close to the corner.

You can also teleport in and use the cover to force a j.L into either a double jump, another j.L, or just going low. Or just empty teleport and go low. Push blocking can make that somewhat difficult to do though, I really wish you couldn’t push block oroboros considering it’s a super but whatevs.

Once I get a ground hit I just mash H > Vajra over and over, then when scaling gets low, look for a reset. In the air I’ll either repeatedly j.H > L Excalibur while mashing to get more orb hits, or in x factor, just stand there mid screen calling the WW2 bomb bird over and over. It sounds retarded but it does the most damage without letting them drop out, and it looks funny. I get a lot of reactions just from people watching when I do that.

As far as level 3 usage goes, how are you guys comboing into Ragnarok for max damage?

In this video at 18:37 how clockworks keeps strider below the opponent after the launch and fall down so fast to activate the orb? Everytime I have tried I end always on top of the opponent.

Most people combo into Ragnarok after the Formation B OTG hit, just like what Clockw0rk did against Combofiend in the video that Zephil posted.

Most likely, he double jumps to drop faster than normal. If it’s not the double jump, then I don’t know what he’s doing.

W oro you need to not act frantically.push guard can hurt you on an approch. I tend to wait out a full kd before I activate.then its fuzzy guard resets all day. Depends though.

Hey Striders I have an XF LVL 3 question and a few other quickies/basic day 1 crap probably for you…

What combo should I be using in lvl 3 XF to maximize Dmg, meter build, and the least amount of time to do the combo? (So i can still do ouros or his ragnarok if i want to and get good dmg.

Also side questions:

Strider best at the anchor or 2 position? I think he is ass on point but I think there is a strong debate for him at the two or three. If he DOES NOT have to enter and eat a mix up or if he can get to lvl 3 XF safely and has meter i think hes better at the 3. Everything becomes so fast, amazing priority, everythings safer, and hes pretty much a Dark Phoenix because of the ability to control the match with ouraboros/Rose satelittle STFU hyper. I look at him like Akuma or phoenix at this position.

Also, what do you think are the best assists for him? I think doom missiles is his best next to sent drones. It makes you less scared to apply pressure because the missiles are going to come so if the opponent attacks they eat the assist and then strider can set up his offense and combo/build bar/whatever. It basically makes his low health a lesser of a factor while playing him because they cover him very nicely.

side note-I also think its the best assist for mags.

Question: I know Formation B shot after blockstrings is safe, but is charging it safe too?

So what’s this Bird Bomb infinite I keep hearing about? Literally can’t find any videos nor any notations in the combo thread and I’ve definitely seen someone do it in a match- just can’t remember where =/

I don’t know of any “infinite” as in repeatedly dropping bird bombs over and over until they die but the level 3 xf bird bomb combo will kill all characters in the game.

Someone asked earlier about how to land ragnarok outside of xfactor…the combo i use does around 900k with no assist but you must have a sat activated(which you should always have)usually i land it from the double wall cling combo L excalibur off of the wall ragnarok.

When using regular strider do you guys save your bars for rag or pop orbs and go crazy? whenever i use orbs without x factor it seems like a waste or doesn’t finish the job.

On point, I save it for other characters, Ragnarok and/or DHCs. Legion does shit damage but is safe to DHC in and out of because of it being HSF-esque, IMO.

On point I save meter for characters who can use it better. Ill use a bar, maybe two to kill a character. Depends on the character.

Reason: Formation B, both charging (11 startup, 9 recovery) and Firing (2 startup 18 recovery) are the same frame-wise but shooting is +8 on block.

i know this is kind of old but i’d like to add on to it. I think strider is fine too but there are a couple of things that you could adjust without making him broken. gram outside of combos is useless for a move that slow it should do more than 90k like a lot more all 3 versions do the same damage which is pretty unique considering how slow the move is. either make it faster or keep the speed the same and do more damage. also bigger animals or faster ones…giving strider both might be overkill also bump the birds damage up to 80k…why does it only do 40 makes no sense. increase damage on the bird bomb. also make legion not suck.

Gram outside of combos sucks, more speed.

Disagree:
you can already follow up after legion. If you are saving him for anchor and he was snapped in, legion is a free hard tag.

you can do crossup mixups on incoming with bird.

Animals are fine considering his recovery on them.
