I believe they are. Lol amazing combo is more like it
650k health? Good. Keep the scrubs off em.
Zero/Strider/Dante is just so asthetic. All three of them having cool swords and awesome move sets. I’m liking the sound of it. But Taskmaster seems like a good team member too. He has the vitality and better horizontal assist. Then there is Vergil and Rocket Raccon who are yet to be seen.
So Orb’s rings chips with X-Factor… is this their way of limiting strider’s chip?
IIRC Strider’s rings don’t chip in MvC2 so if anything it helps his chip.
Where does Strider’s orbs chip? If it’s from the same new video with him activating Oro then immediately XF, I didn’t see any chip happening from the orbs themselves, and the opponent looked like they simply stopped blocking (not surprising since the matches are staged), since I didn’t see any block effect if it really was from chip.
What does it matter if his orbs chip? No body is gonna block this character when he has that shit on calling assists.
Yeah after going over the video a few times it does look like the opponent just stopped blocking…
so how do you guys feel about Strider with Dr. Strange? seems that Strange’s assists have a lot of potential chemistry with Strider, especially with his teleport game. I’m liking Bolts of Balthakk as it puts the opponent in a lot of blockstun and is a beam-- kind of like a faster sentinel drones.
i think that being that orbs doesn’t work like it did for the past two games that we need to wait and see before decide on who the “new” doom/lou will be. i think strider is pretty much a new character that we’ll have to go in the lab and develop new strategies for.
what i hope for is that orbs isn’t confined to level 3 x factor. obviously i think that we’ll find a way around this but we’ll see…
Ok so after coming from NYC fight club and playing with Strider going 4-2 with him. Strider feels SO damn good… hard knock downs, OTG’s, and great mix ups… I can see people who mash will drop him quick specially with paper thin health. He flows like mvc2 strider with alot more tools… what ever his heath is… feels about right for him… play smart and you’ll do just fine. What made my nite was when i caused ground bounce threw hulks armor s.hp and once on his launch attack… my eyes was like Blink really strider? Ok lets roll with it lol. Vajra (H) crosses up on crouching opponent but that could change so who knows… didn’t get the chance to test out all of his assist since calling him out is like asking to get killed… but assist (a) seems alright. All in all strider is a great… I can’t wait to get my hands on him again at NYCC. (and get blown up by firebrand again ._.)
Good info vatsu. Assist-a is what the wall bounce slash? You didn’t try Vajra assist?
I Think calling Strider as an assist is just as bad as calling Phoenix in.
I played Strider at NYC fight club with Doom on point and Hawkeye as anchor. I used vajra assist for strider, rocks for Doom and hori arrows for Hawkeye. On Strider’s Vajra assist, it tracks really well. If the opponent is on the ground, its just a regular hit and the opponent goes into hitstun but in the air it’s a hard knockdown, which really helps Doom and Hawkeye. It definitely helps if you play a zoning game. The hitstun on vajra on the ground is really short as both point and assist. I do understand now why i always see Strider players throw out cr.a when the land vajra even though it ends up being a hard knockdown and it was really annoying me since every time I wanted to try out hard knockdown vajra into satellite OTG it just went standing hitstun state and i get combo-ed while calling out satellite. I’ve also seen the Gram assist and it is really slow.
When i was playing as Strider, he felt really awkward, but that’s probably because his teleport felt slower than i thought it would be. It was also really difficult to combo off Doom rocks from a teleport, though i haven’t tried all the air normals he can use to keep an opponent in the air long enough to combo. His lvl 1 super completely lost to Trish ground Maximum Voltage. The main BnB that I tried to do as Strider was magic series, s, j.m, j.h, qcf.l, s.h, s, air magic series, slide otg then mix up afterwards. i couldn’t land the standing c on the ground after the air qcf l, but it probably would’ve worked since they didn’t recover until they hit the ground and i just messed up the timing.
Yeah Kef i believe (a) is Ame-no-Murakamo… Gram is (b) and Vajra is (y). Vajra is alright i used it one time, in the long run Vajra might be a assist to punish beam characters doesn’t cause hard knock down just stuns ._. why capcom why…
Damnit i knew i forgot to test someone with strider! In your opinion does it seem like strider builds meter fast? or you didn’t notice?
He does build bar pretty fast, but that was mostly because every time Strider was on point for me I either teleporting and attacking or throwing out animals. With the way his lvl 1 super works, he feels like Wesker where he has a lvl 1 super that isn’t that useful and rarely uses meter aside from lvl 3 or THC but he is very good for building meter for his team. This kinda makes me not want to put him in the second slot since his lvl 1 doesn’t seem useful other than DHCing. I didn’t test Ouroboros though so maybe i could use the meter for that or Ragnorok.
0:28 HOLDAT FULLSCREEN HIT CONFIRM.
Has anyone actually tried DHCing from Strider to Doom and vice verse? I can’t help but have a feeling that both DHC badly to each other. That plus the fact that Strider’s teleports are not meant for crossover stuff with plasma beam could mean that Strider will not be very good friends with Doom in this game.
considering Strider has two level 3s and Legion is a nearly fullscreen hyper, I think Doom to Strider and vice versa will be okay. however, unless they buffed the damage on photon array, I don’t think it’ll do much to your opponent unless he also bleeds like Strider.
