Magneto and Storm also do not have auto tracking dive kick, high damage combos currently, teleports, and total dominating projectiles with his animal summoning.
Or self OTGs. Or can set up unblockables with three bars. Magneto and Storm both have low damage for there health. Zero has low health but insane priority, his level 1 utility hyper sets up loops that kill, has high execution death combos.
Why Strider’s health needs to be around Zero’s, there tools are similar. People were asking for him to be 900 k at the top.
Magneto and storm have allot of good tools, and damaging combos. They have a different play style, yet we can safely assume the killing potential is equal. What we are saying is that Strider should be in the lines of Zero-Mags/Storm in terms of health.
A health increase: Health not below Zero and not above Storm/Mag. I have no idea why that sounds too much.
Not to mention if the game’s damage isn’t toned down overall even 800k wouldn’t save him from one touch death which we all know is incredibly prevalent. Health is such an inflated tool for balancing. 400k hasn’t stopped Pheonix from running the meta-game if ya’ll been paying attention.
Dante has great tools and is consequently a high tier character, so people are going to the eliminate the problem as soon as they get their hands on him. This will probably prove equally true for Strider so having another 50k won’t solve the problem. In this game you get touched and die. Fortunately for Strider he has the tools to try getting touched, hence low health.
He should be at Zero, period. His tools with that much health would be a meta game nightmare.
If he gets Storm/Mags health, his damage needs to become Zero’s to prevent him from becoming the new Logan. The characters who can do everything, should have low health to enforce a strict timing with the said character.
When I say new Logan I mean a char who gives you too much reward for day one tactics. He should be char who you take a little bit of risk if you are not good with of dying. Like Magneto/Zero do. You aren’t good with them, you will get blown up.
Strider with Zero health is fine can we all agree on that? And yes maybe Storm/Magneto health maybe to much but it still doesn’t avoid the fact that he has a high learning curve and with all high learning curves comes a high reward but with a high reward comes low health.
no because zeroes damage output is a farcry to what strider currently has. high learning curve ? i respectfully disagree with you . if he gets a health boost at his current state with the damage he puts out , it is inevitable that he will end up being the next wolverine / phoenix . is that what you and everyone else in this thread asking for a health boost really want? because i will predict a majority of the people asking for this health boost will be the first ones here to post about him needing to be nerfed when everyone flocks to strider.
I do see were your coming from it seems like hes just gonna die in one combo if he gets hit and I dont want him to go down that fast if anything lessen his damage? Either way there no pleasing everybody. And yea i believe he will take a high learning curve he did in MvC2 so why not now?
Asking for a health boost is totally lame. As clockw0ork said already, Strider has the tools to win. He’s noticeably better than the 800-850k characters like X-23 and others. As good as the character is, he needs some risk involved into playing – a draw back in some way. His low health seems like a marvel tradition ala Akuma in SF. I really feel like you guys are asking it to be too easy. If you’re a fan of Strider, put an optimized team around him and get the most out of him. It’s going to be incredibly hard to Strider any way.
This.
Strider has low health because he’s a fucking boss and everyone at Capcom knows it.
From what I’ve seen so far, Strider is not a character you want to take lightly.
Like Seth Killian said, “When we drop the health of a character, there’s a very good reason for it.”
Would-be developers and masters in the art of balancing in this thread need to take a breath and try to understand why Capcom gave Strider low health.
Spoiler: Because he’s really good.
Strider is going to have a high-risk/high-reward playstyle, and I for one welcome the challenge.
Just optimize your team, learn how to play the game and don’t rush in without thinking.
Strider is going to have more than enough tools to completely obliterate a team. He needs a downside so people have to actually think and go “well shit, I better not rush in like an idiot or I’ll die”.
Strider is going to tear shit up and his health is of little concern to me. Because Ouroboros.
The issue is just the fear of loosing him in battle fast but because it does make it harder to pair him with other guys we like such as Zero, and even Phoenix. Having two glass cannons makes the strategy much more difficult to sometimes suicidal because the discipline and risk of assist usage is tighter. It’s not just his point factor that concerns me about the low life.
Strider doesn’t need 1 million health, AND to have the ability to do everything. You want a high health, decent damage rush down character that isn’t wolverine? Play She-Hulk, Super Skrull, Captain America (Hell, Captain America’s BnB does 508k damage off a light hit confirm which is pretty decent.), Ryu. All these characters have options, but not “OMG SO AMAZING” options like Strider does.
If Strider gets any sort of substantial health buff he’ll easily be the best character in the game.
Then pair him with a character who has higher health. Problem solved.
What you’re asking for is to potentially create an unbalanced character solely based on your opinion that you can’t mix low health characters with other low health characters (even though the vast majority of tourney viable characters have health that’s far below average).
If you’re worried that using low health characters is suicidal because you don’t want to take the time to protect your assists and think before you rush in, then you should reconsider using low health characters to begin with.
We’re not asking for that much health, Just around Zero’s which is pretty low already. So it’s only up to about 50 pts… i really don’t get why some people here think a plus 50 HP would make him god like. It’s not like he won’t bleed still from random magneto hits. He just takes hits as an assist also trade hits a wee bit better.
What happens if we always wanted a Zero/Strider teams? How does that solve the problem? LOL
and +50 pts will make him unbalanced, are you ok or just wanting to argue?
I would use a Zero/Strider team, the health doesn’t matter to me because they’re both amazing characters.
Don’t jump the gun, I’m not here to argue. I could care less at this point what his health ends up being because I’ll use him anyways.
I’m just curious why people feel he deserves a health buff so badly right now?
Everything I’ve seen and heard so far shows that Strider is a fucking beast and well deserved of his glass cannon status.
If Strider ends up under 800k health, it means he’s broken as fuck and that should be a good thing.
