That change list sounded pretty badass, I don’t see the problem outside of Vega becoming a bandwagon character (Adon)

I don’t know what to say, honestly i don’t… i don’t think Japanese players have any understanding of Vega in this game if that’s supposed to be an accurate summary of what they’ve suggested. Is there some kind of super awesome technique Vega has that we haven’t discovered or something?

Make Vega’s Super - Flying Barcelona Special & Rolling Izuna Drop hit the opponent when colliding with them just like the Ultra 1, even if they have to nerf damage from it just to make it balanced!
And give him some more priority on his anti air! Ryu’s forward heavy kick is unbalanced against Vega!

It was just some show they have put to look like “hey, we care about your opinions”. Otherwise he wouldn’t say such a stupid thing.
And the thing said by japanese players ended for me when I’ve seen “Rather than combos he should focus on chipping away at his opponents through pokes, and his wall dives.” That’s the dumbest proposal ever. And it got to be the one to reach Ayano to and responded by Ayano. He is now thinking “Oh, Vega players don’t want any comboes or new combo opportunities.” because of that random Japanese player who most probably is going for constant bare izunas the whole match.
EX FBA being comboable was the best thing which happened to Vega in SFIV, hands down, and it has even been tuned to adjust his hibox to most characters. Wanting to remove that is pure trolling. Trading that for just speed is an encouragement for randomness, nothing more.
Except… if they buff RCF in return, but i don’t see that happening. Or ST so that it doesn’t whiff, but we’ll still lose huge range for combos. =)

Well I am still confused about the changes combofiend mentioned. He must have mixed up crLP and crMP otherwise this would not make much sense.
Still don’t know if I like the idea of crLP (?) having 3 frames startup and 2 frame link potential. It’s my scrubby elitist thinking I guess.
The other changes sans EX ST are very welcome though.
3 frame c.mp hahaha im laughing so much, if those changes all make it through, vega would see some tournament wins in his future.
I think the 3 frame c.MP is so that Vega can option select throw more easily, and with his best button as well. An amazing buff if we get it.

Out of the two I don’t know which one is the most idiot. In the first one they want to make the crLP crLP link as easy as Dictator’s crLK crLK. Claw will confirm a ~230 dmg combo from a crJab that is the longest of the entire game.
If it had +1f of BLOCKSTUN, so that I don’t have to be even against 3framers after landing a crLP, that would be nice.
crMP having 3f is retarded. You know that he will punish even dreams, right? It will change matchups to the point that is not even funny. Boxer can’t even dash punch withouth being punish by a motherfucking Izuna Drop. Claw is one of the best punisher of this game, thanks to crMP and EX FBA. There is no need to improve his punish game, neither his ground game.
And the mistake of confusing crMP by crLP… crLP being 3f would be way worse than crMP being 3f. CrLP with 3f of startup and +5 on hit? Why not make it chainable already?
More active frames on crHP won’t change a thing. The hitbox of it is INSIDE the hurtbox. It will keep losing clean to jump ins and the uses for it won’t improve. It will better to deal with empty jumps, though. Lets be happy!
U2 needs to get opponents jump ins beside trip guard. CH needs a hitbox that goes more downwards to the ground, so it won’t whiff when we space it properly. Also, it will prevent whiffing on crTechs, as a move designed to beat throw techs this is completely stupid.
It seems that they don’t wan’t to make good characters. They want to make idiot ones. I am not even saying this only because of Claw.
Also, you guys should stop whinning about having an invencible EX ST. Its way, way, way, way more useful than more active frames on crHP.
You have to realize that, if you have the reactions, you can react to a ton on things. And not be forced to block it. Adon’s JK for god sake! Abel’s Wheel Kick and so many other things that I am sure you know it too.
You know when you crMP and the dude jumped over it? That sucks, right? Now you have to block it… unless you EX ST him for the hell of it. 5f of invecibility would be enough to punish jump ins, or least have a guaranteed trade, which puts you in a hella good position.
EX ST needs 42f of charge. Most jumps last about 40f. So as long as you started charging a mere 7~8frames before they jump, you would be able to AA them. 8f is impossible to react. Far from being possible. So as long as you have meter EX ST would be a reliable AA.
And don’t come with that shit that being baited is worse than being forced to deal with frame traps/tick throws. If that were true. They could buff shotos by removing the invencibility frames of Reversals DPs.
I think im a a point right now that with all of the things Combofiend said for Vega, I would just take them with open arms and wouldn’t really care what other people think about them. I hope we get to keep all those changes and still get other ones.
Personally I love those changes. Especially “Crouching light punch have more hit-stun” I think that is a must.
But 3 frame cr.mp is really too much. It will make Vega braindead.

No. The 3 changes that I talked about were dumb. The others could be smarter, but if we got that its great already. Good changes =/= buffs.
