Cincinnati, Oh: Kings of the DOUBLE DUTCH!

Basically Donkey Kong is on drugs and that’s why he looks like that. He was a donkey but the addiction jacked him all up. Videogame cocain’s a hell of a drug…

He actually tried to fuck my couch.

All of the ghetto Bruce customs I’ve seen make me happy. I may have to main him just for that fact alone.

Been suffering from the flu lately and it’s getting pretty bad. If it’s not better I won’t be able to come Wednesday but I’ll keep you posted.

I can feel ya on this one. Been under the weather myself as of late.

Anyways, since I apparently dont have to work today… I was going to go down to Gameworks today/tonight. If anyone else is interested, let me know.

That’s funny, I’ve been thinking all weekend about dropping down there either today or tomorrow. Try and actually get practice in before Wednesday for a change. I’ll probably run through around 7 or 8 depending on what happens later today.

Hey all. I’m writing to inform you that a friend of mine is trying to make his way from Columbus to visit Arcade Legends. He is a die hard KOF fan, and would like to play with some other people instead of shitty online. To encourage KOF players to come to AL, I phoned them and they said they would do the discount thing for a group of KOF players. If there are any KOF players, any at all that are interested just post your name or pm me and maybe we can get a list going, and have some excellent games! Also this is his first visit, thanks in advance to anyone who helps him have an excellent time.

Do you know when he was planning on coming? If he came on the Thursday night fight nights, there are definitely some KOF players. Keith, Kodi and Derrick play KOF. Also, Dijon from NKY if he comes. I’m sure there are a few others that would join in. We have 98 & 02 on the arcade and XII for PS3 so there is no shortage of good KOF games in the house. You should try to get some more C-bus people to come, namely Dandy J and his crew. Dandy is a fierce KOF player.

unrelated double post.

I just posted the next AL tourney up here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?p=7523070#post7523070

I’m looking for rule sets for SFA3, T6 and GGXXS. Any help is appreciated.

Not sure when, but he always mentions thursdays so ill see whats goin on.

T6 will probably be like previous Tekken’s.

-No button mapping.
-Best 3 out of 5 rounds, best 2 out of 3 matches. Then Loser/ winner/ grand finals will change to best 3 out of 5 matches.
-Final boss is banned (also if character Mokujin can mimic Final boss, he will be banned as well).
-Random stage select
-Pausing during matches will result in a warning and possible forfeit of that match depending on judges call.

Good going Phil! Is Az even going to be playable? Damn there’s so much going on with T6. It’s got me all geeked out. I can’t wait for my IC card.

I seriously doubt if Azzy will be available Dave but then again a lot of people thought True Orge wouldn’t be playable back in T3 and he was. More funny would be if Mokujin would mimic Azzy and that, that I will have to see for myself.

IC cards are definately on their way… we should have a nite dedicated to IC card games only once this batch arrives… be awesome to help people get gold and rank up.

Or in my(and the majority of us) case, add a bunch of losses to my(their) record.

I think we get more money for losses against good players than wins or losses against unregistered players, if not at least as much. As far as record, is it really that important?

That is the cheer-filled Kris I know and love.

Also if you want to you can always sell your un-used cards to the highest bidder.
For example I know my buddy Chris T. would kill for an IC card but wasn’t able to come up with the monies in time.

pP

Man works cheap, but is he good?

on a tekken related note, if you and your opponent have an IC card and one of you gets roulette, both cards recieve the benefit.

So if someone gets roulette rush we shuold let them win a little more to let them gain the full benefit. And doing so against muliple opponents will give multiple people chances at roulette.

The reason to let them win a little is that if you lose while you have a roulette rush, you lose some of it per loss. I did some research on it the other day.
I also saw this first hand as Kam got a roulette rush and it got nerfed by a loss, thus he only got 2-3 roulettes as opposed to the 4-6 he could have gotten.

He has the basics down. I have been training with him when I get a chance.

Skeez: Let people win for roulette purposes? I guess if other people are cool with it I am down. More gold, more cool items.

pP

What is this roulette you speak of? This sounds like shiney things are involved. If this is true I may have to look into this Tekken business. Just for the glitters

Hmmm…is Tekken fast-paced? Or is it slow and elegant and require skilled timing?

Hey Amanda. Roulette is like a reward for playing with your IC card. Basically you get shiny game gold (Boxer would call it ‘Fight Money’) for winning or losing matches. Roulette can sometimes double/ triple or quadriple the amount of game gold you get. Roulette Rush is a better version of Roulette where you can get multiple roulettes in a row. Basically in the long run, it makes expensive items easier to buy because you are cashing in.

Tekken players are a mixed bunch. Some people like to rush-down (me for example) whilst some players prefer a more measured and ‘safer’ approach (e.g. Sluch). Some people even use a combination of both styles (Derrick). The game itself is pretty fast. Long aerial combos do a lot of damage and most 3 out 5 rounds fight rarely go over 2-3 minutes.
There is elegance in it through. Some characters have ‘just frame’ moves, moves that require strict timing to pull off and most of the time they are pretty flashy.
