Yeah, maybe this Cincinnati thread won’t take a decade to reach 1000 posts.

Anyway, right now is the start of something amazing in Cincinnati. There are more active, INTERESTED fighting gamers than ever before. Post who you are and what you play and I’ll add it here.

Cincinnati has something about once a week. Being that there are 3d gamers and 2d gamers, it might not always happen at the same place at the same time. Just keep a peeled eye here to see what’s happening and when.

This is preliminary, so if you’re not on here and you think you should be, post it.

-Arcade Legends. Our local arcade: AL is run by some nice folk who like gamers and like to hold tournaments. They have been pretty active since opening and are planning on running Ranbats as well as tournaments. Check out their website at

-Gatherings: We have weekly gathering which have come to be known as Whatever day it goes down Night Thrashings (aka Tuesday Night Thrashings) at multiple places. If you want to join us and get in some gaming PM either me (Drago) or Mike. We play everything at these gathering with SF IV and BlazBlue getting the most play these days. We also have our own myspace page www.myspace.com/cincytekken. This page features player interviews, videos and most of the people’s myspace accounts.

-Illuminaudi Games: Illuminaudi has hosted two tournaments so far and will probably want to host a couple more. It is a nice big venue with lots of tvs. They have advise us that they don’t mind if we drop by and have gathering there as well, as long as we give them some notice. They can be found at

As Phil said, I’m Jesse and the co-owner here is Jay (or Jeremiah). He rarely posts here as I do all the tournament setup and running and generally keeping you guys in the loop as to what’s new here at AL.

With our new hours going into effect tomorrow (meaning we close at MIDNIGHT on weekdays!), I’d like to extend an offer. If you guys want to meet up here for your weekly Thrashings now and again, I will let you all in for $5 a head. We have the big screen, the two HDTV’s in the back, the two smaller HD monitors we use at tournaments and a couple crts at your disposal. We have PS3’s, 360’s and a PS2 and most of the fighters you guys play. You are welcome to bring anything else you might want to set up. And of course you have those other 50 games you can play between matches.

All I ask is that someone contacts me at least day or two in advance to make sure we don’t already have something going on. Maybe we could get some of the Dayton crew to join now and then.

Thanks for all the support you have given us so far. Please keep the suggestions and requests coming so we can continue to make AL a better place to play.

SF2 the animated movie was one of the greatest game movies…hell it might be the only good one out there.

Agreed man, SF2 the Animated movie was too good. The first Mortal Kombat worked as well, it was cheesy without being camp (unlike the second).

Chad: I saw the Legend of Chun-Li (bootleg of course) and I did not hate it as much as the original SF movie, I didn’t like all the random changes tho.

Spoiler Rose is all of a sudden Bison’s daughter and a vessell for his goodness. Umm Lawl.

Many thanks to Kyle for the good times. Sorry we didn’t get to play but we can hit up PSN whenever. I’ll be out of town next week tho. Lemme know if you wanna play hdr too.

Phil, we will play KoF one day, but I’m not really too good at any of them. 12 should be good though. I’ll probably keep playing it even if the game sucks because 1. It can’t be as bad as sf4, and 2. It’s the prettiest looking game ever made. Lound 1! Leady!? GAOO!!!

Sluch, Rachel isn’t really that hard. Nobody in BB is that hard. Just learn a couple combos from every chance hit, learn okizeme, learn tech traps, and you’re good. I wish I was better with Lili. Hopefully BR will make that happen. I am not going out to GW without a few combo lists. Oh, and if you didn’t notice, Rachel’s knife&fork (6b) on counterhit stuns, so that’s a great poke to throw out most of the time. If you land a counterhit, you can dash in and land standing b into cat punch air combo, or ground frog combo. That one air combo I told you, in case you forget is b, 6a, b, (super jump cancel) jb, ja, jb, jc, (double jump) j2c, pumpkin, 2d. This makes the pumpkin hit them when they try to roll. I think they can block it if they quick recover, but that still allows you to keep up the pressure. Also keep in mind that Rachel’s wind only recovers while you’re on the ground, so don’t jump around too much if you’re in a zoning situation and you’re low on wind.

Legend, you are a legend. So many good BB games, and so many terrible games in that awful horrible SF4! I really thought I could take you with Rachel but you had something else in mind.

I don’t remember who the other guy I played in BB was. Matches were fun. I would say use v-13, because if nobody around her plays her we will not be ready for her in tournaments.

Oh and I also wanted to apologize to Rekano because I totally punked him out at the end of his last thread, and I don’t think I’ve ever really met him, but I was joking and just wanted to make sure he knew that I wasn’t just being a jerk. Or I was, but jokingly so.

Matt is a smart ass and no one likes him. He says the things he means and people think he’s kidding when really that’s how he feels. He will always apologize for it later, that’s how you know he’s a bitch.

4, HDR, Darkstalkers, hell even obscure shit like Pocket Fighter (and an unhealthy liking of SF:TM:TG’s console port). It’s all good.

Thanks to Kyle for hosting again, and good games to Arakayne in both BB and Lame Fighter 4 :lol: Those bees were swarming in full effect, and you educated me on using different mix ups with Arakune. You weren’t ready for that old school Gen dust roll, and the dingy karate shoe cross up were you??? :lol: GG with Abel bruh VERY nasty mix ups! Still though, you and D. Legend had the event of the night were Guile did a MK3 Brutality in the corner before jungle boy even hit the ground!!! CLASSIC!!! :rofl:

Good to see everyone again, and meet peeps from the boards. Hope to get more games in next time, although I feel that I’ll have to play BB constantly with no rest to be able to even COMPETE with you all next time!! :sweat: Good work indeed from everyone!

It sucks since I’m the worst player here in the area in terms of technical ability, so I do have my work cut out 4 me 4 sure. However, I like BB & want 2 get better @ it so I’ll work as best as I can 2 get there. :tup:

Matt: Good games in both DR & SC4 my good sir. It’s always fun 2 play someone who has more of a turtling style such as myself. Nice stuff w/ Lili & Asuka, as well as Asty in SC4. Thank u once again 4 the tips on Rachel. I’ll practice on that shit 4 sure. I’m gonna have 2 play u in some BB next time so I can get my ass kicked & u can let me know what I’m doing good & what I’m doing not so good. :tup:

Kam: Good games in SC4 my good sir. It sucks that u were tired by the time we got 2 play, but we still had some good matches. Once u busted out Kilik, I know I couldn’t mess around so I had 2 choose Amy. I hope we can get some more SC4 in sometime in the near future. :tup:
