I’d been pretty good about going to Tekken for a couple weeks there, for your information. Then the one day a couple weeks ago when you had a thing at your house, I missed it because of Tekken. Thursdays have been bad. Every other Tuesday is bad. Nobody to play Guilty Gear with, and it’s not like there aren’t other better players to play if I don’t show, so I really don’t feel like anybody’s counting on me. All of these factors combine and make it easy for me to pass on a given gathering. Also, I’ve had plans for every GG ranbat, and am going camping the weekend of this coming ranbat.

But I really do try to be reliable if I’m needed.

I agree w/ most ppl on Diego hating SF4 the most. I always tell him he’s a glutton 4 punishment b/c he hates the game so much, yet he still plays it though. :lol: I like watching some SF4, but I do not like playing the game @ all.

Lastly, Yes, I will play Street Fighter the MOVIE GAME over SFIV.

To sum it up: SFIV makes me want to punch a baby.

Ok, that’s impressive I must say, and tentatively I concede but I’m gonna take my best shot at a gripe list and see how it compares…

  • Let’s Get it On Now to Indeswudibal is absolutely unacceptable
  • FIVE, not 1 FIVE people came back to life for this game to happen…
  • HD Remix sprites are MUCH better, especially Dhalsim
  • Gief looks like a character from Clayfighter 64
  • All of the new characters are lame EXCEPT Abel, who is just generic
  • Sagat looks like the guy who played him in the live action movie. I’d rather use the ST sprite Sagat
  • Dhalsim and Blanka were both animated by Ed Boon. I KNOW this.
  • 3rd strike shoto sweeps > me recording Dave attempting a shoto sweep > SF4 shoto sweeps
  • the characters are obviously stuck in an alternate universe where air molecules are made of honey. this shit is SLOOOOW
  • Akuma’s supers are useless???
  • not ONE 3s character, not even Dudley

Dwayne: Good shit on winning the tourney last night my good sir. U definately deserved it, that’s 4 sure. That was some nice stuff u were busting out w/ Law in casuals as well. Keep that shit up. As always, Feng was beastly.

Phil: Good games in both Tournament Play & Casuals. Damn that Tournament Curse, right!? Lol. Very good shit in those streaks u had in Casuals. It looks like the studying is paying off 4 sure in BR. Thanks once again 4 the gas money & BK coupons.

Derrick: At last! We finally got 2 play a match in something! Lol. It has been about a week to two weeks since we played anything, so that was a good thing 4 sure. Hopefully we can actually play more games the next time around.

Lol. Oh well, shit happens. Nice match that we had in BR when we played. Just remember 2 watch out 4 playing too cautious & getting stuck in certain patterns. That shit will eat u alive most of the time.

Damon: Good games in BR last night my good sir & it was awesome u could roll through w/ us 4 some games. I must say that ur reaction timing can be crazy @ points, where I think I have a sure-to-hit throw or low move, but then u break that throw & block that low like it wasn’t shit. Lol. Nice stuff there indeed. Also, Asuka Battles are always fun times.

Darius: I was glad u were albe 2 head down 2 GW later on in the night. Nice match we had 4 sure. Once u find out some Bound stuff & learn some of the new moves in this game, u’ll be a force 2 mess w/ 4 sure. Also, I know now 2 never challenge u in a “Stare-Down” Contest. Ur skills in that are too strong. A winner will always be you. Lol.

Dave: Last night was probably the best BR you have played. Good abuse of B+4 and I am certain you will be using some of those new combos I have shown you. Roger Jr can be fun too and I think he’ll definately be a good fit. Next week Lee vs Anna… round 300.

Frankie: I don’t think we played but I am impressed with how you are now utilizing B! combos a lot more.

Damon: Props on mixing up your characters and trying out Leo. I will give you some more King pointers next time we play and yep, I am the Tekkenpedia but Skeez definately will show you what to do with Leo. Also don’t be afraid to poke your head in and say “it’s my turn”. Everyone else does it.

Hey Cincy! Newbie here. I was the skinny kid at the first 2 AL ranbats for SFIV.

I love SFIV. I play Vega because when I picked the game up in March, I had absolutely no knowledge of fighting games, and he seemed like the coolest character. I’m way too used to him to switch. I’d like to think that my Vega isn’t terrible. If anyone wants to body me online, I’m up for some matches anytime I’m not occupied with school.

I’m also up for BB matches, I play Jin. I can land some B&B’s but I suck at footsies and drop a lot of combos / don’t capitalize on a lot counter-hits. I like to press buttons when I’m not supposed to. :sweat:

CVS2 is fun. I suck at CVS2. I normally pick N Vega, Iori, Rock. Pretty smart of me to pick up one of the harder characters to learn when I have minimal exposure to the game.

I own KOFXII, but I had never played a KOF before when I bought it and there’s not exactly a whole lot of room for growth with no working online function for the 360, and with no one else I know that even owns the damn game.

I’m not very good at 3S, and definitely the least experienced at it, but I have fun with it. I play as Alex, but I don’t own a PS2 stick and mostly just stick to GGPO.

I play scrubby on MVC2 for xbl with a crappy team (Cammy, Jin, Sent). I win way too much online, I have no idea how. Seems like a lot of the online competition isn’t exactly rough though.

Also, I’m going to SB4 for SFIV! First tournament besides Gamestop I’m going to that’s bigger than the AL ranbats, I can’t wait.

Me and a few people I know are going to try and make some of the 5$ nights at AL, especially between now and SB4. Add me on XBL and invite me to some games sometime! Or don’t. Whatever’s cool. I’ll try putting an end to this reply before it reads like an LJ, though it might be too late for that.

New stuff alert.

We just got in a RASTAN arcade machine, KOF 2002 will be in the 4-slot Neo cab (out goes that rancid King of Monsters) and my GUILTY GEAR XX SLASH arcade should be in soon and I will have it in the showcase cabinet next Saturday for the BB & GG ranbat day.

That’d be great if NKY could make to the weekly get together. You’ll definitely get lots of matches in and learn alot more than playing online. I think Zach was going to shoot for Thursday next week so plan on that. If you have a PS3 you can bring, please do. We have TV’s but only a couple ever bring setups. More setups = more matches.

Hey man, good to see new people posting. I think I know who you are but not 100% sure.

Plenty of us from Cincy and Dayton will be at SB4.

Ideally the next game night will be on Thursday at the arcade. If we get over 10 people, the cost will be $4 per person. I think last time we got around 14-15 people which is a pretty good turnout. I personally get there around 7pm but others show up earlier and later, so show up that evening whenever you feel like, it stays open until 12.

This time around we will have more setups, including one or two more 360 setups. If not, we usually have people willing to let others use their sticks.

Also, I play SF4 on XBL a lot less than I used to (but close player matches are still okay I think as long as it’s 4/5 bar) so if you want to get some time in, hit me up.

Phil, what is your birthday bash? Is it Tekken at GW or what? If not, why are you having a birthday bash so long before home version of Tekken? It doesn’t matter that it would be 2 months later. Also, I like KoF 2k2. We should play that at AL one day. Also, I won’t be in town next weekend, so I’ll probably miss your birfday bash. You’re still my favorite asian with an australian accent though.

Have you seen the starburst commercial with the scotch koreans? It’s kind of like you, but not. Scotland is a much more obscure region than australia.

Also, I’m gonna let you have a birthday bash, but beyonce had one of the best birthday bashes of all time.
