I’m really not sure. I’m accidentally becoming a counter pick player just because I don’t LOVE any of the characters. If Ono announces DLC next week, and if Charlie is included I can be released from this purgatory.

Also does anyone know of a good 3S site I can read up on some stuff? I checked event hubs, and they have general knowledge for the whole game, but I was looking for something on Oro, outside of the “man of gold” youtube video.
I don’t think Friday’s gonna work out for either me or my friend. He’s getting into town late and I kinda double-booked plans. I’ll see what’s up and let everyone know as soon as I’m able.
The 3s wiki section on SRK is really good for most characters. Oro should have a few things on there. Also check the old threads, just search for threads older than a year in the Oro character section and you’ll probably get some good things. Oro is pretty good but very awkward and has a fairly high learning curve. If you come to AL tonight I can get you started in the right direction, but I’m going to reccomend you learn either Ken/Ryu/Chun to get the basics down. They are probably the best characters to use if you want to learn the fundamentals and get comfortable with the overall mechanics of the game.
Well, its all very technical. First of all charlie has cool hair. AAAAAND he can throw a sonic boom with one hand. Also I like his glasses.

@Hank, Thanks for the insight, I will definitely check there as well. I just saw the SRK forums empty and didn’t notice the older posts threads, I’ll see what I can find in there also. I understand that I “SHOULD” play Ken, Ryu, Chun but for some reason I’m always drawn to the complex and difficult to play characters. It’s a curse I guess. Other chars that stood out to me would be Hugo, or possibly 12 (but i’m sure his voice clips get freaking annoying).
Hugo SA3 is a fairly fundamentally sound character. Aside from walking 360’s, he’s mainly just solid pokes. I know like 2 good set ups with Oro and that’s about it. If you do play him, use Tengu Stones to start with, his unblockable SA2 set ups take a bit of work, and personally I think stones are just better. Check youtube for some good Japanese Oro play, people like Thanatos and Dirty ? play very differently and are extremely good.
Ahh, ok. Yeah you usually catch me when im on playing PerfectLegend/Wolfkrone/Magman/Derrick and sometimes Hav or something. Since half the time were all in the same room togehter.
@ Goose: Its kinda funny, I started out playing 3s with ken…moved to dudley… then to alex… then to yang…then to ken… then to ryu… then to alex…then to ibuki then to oro then to urien… then to alex…then to yang… then to ken… then to oro…then to makoto…then to oro… then to alex …then to yang then back to alex.

haha hell ya goose you shouldnt start with easy characters just cuz its easy. i started with remy and i still use remy. and if your gonna pick up twelve be prepared cuz hes the worst in 3s. but he is a sort of a chun counter if you can get really good with him.
Eh Remy isn’t ridiculously hard, at least when you’re getting the basics, he’ll teach you charge partioning (hopefully) if you pick him up. I’m just saying, you aren’t doing yourself any favors if you want to LEARN the game by using awkward characters. Some are just too execution heavy for a new player to work with (Yun, Ibuki, Necro, Dudley, Makoto), and others require a lot of specific knowledge to be good with (Urien, Q, Oro, Remy). 3rd strike is a fairly difficult game to get into, but I want more people playing it, so I’m just trying to help speed up the process.
Oro is possibly the hardest character to learn in the game. He’s an awkward character to use and play against. Whatever character you decide, I can recommend some player’s vids to check out. Ryu play’s much different then Ken depending on the SA you use. He becomes a rush down character bent on stunning if you use SAIII and the setups are tricky at first.
