Quen: refer to above, Xbox Live’s Indie games have a special program you download and use to create with. Because I am super helpful and ish, here is a link XNA Creators Club Online - home
Have fun.
Mike: Thanks for the props man, glitchy backgrounds ftw. I don’t know if anyone noticed but in the last combo in the video, Miguel does his staple db+1,ws+4,d+4,1+2 combo but the last hit misses because he hit his head on the wall lawls.
I’ll see if I can get some dough so I can go out tomorrow, got some more cool stuff to show people.
i don’t know what you’re talking about plugin_container.exe is running at 500,000k resources right now flash works fine
edit: also why the fuck don’t we have a weekly tournament, enough people show up on thursdays usually and it would encourage people not unlike me to suck less
That says more about your code than it does about flash tbh. I’m not saying c#/XNA is the smoothest running thing on the face of the earth (C++ or get the hell out), but it’s not that hard to optimize your shit. I would guess that you are using something incorrectly. Or maybe some framework function was written by interns and sucks ass. Magical thing about a real programming language is that you’re free to go outside the sandbox and write your own in that case. IDK, maybe I’m just bitter because adobe air crashes a million times a day, or adobe flex’s processing order makes javascript seem sane. Oh well once HTML5 is standardized (in one million years) flash will be dead!
Seriously Nick, you brought me to the brink of meltdown mode!
EDIT: HTML5 is so goddamn cool. The more you do webdevelopment the more it will sound to you like the second coming of Jesus Christ. Imagine a world without slow ass javascript parsing malformed XML. Imagine a world with rounded mottled windows built right into the browser!
That may not work so well seeing as everyone rolls in and leaves at different points of the night. Enough people do come, but they come so spread out due to work, school and where they live that I don’t think it would end up happening. You can certainly give it a shot if you want to Nick. Round up everyone some Thursday and see if they want to do a tournament.
For those of you who didn’t come Wednesday, I got a couple new pinballs - ADDAMS FAMILY and CENTAUR. Also, Battlezone and Asteroids are both fixed. Donkey Kong will be fixed pretty soon. We have to wait for some parts to come in first. I know what’s wrong with the Puzzle Fighter cab now so it should be back up before too long as well.
I got the monitor board for my candy cab, but it’s still not wanting to work properly. Hopefully I don’t have to jump through more hoops to get this game up and running seeing as it was supposed to be a working game on delivery.
I’m still looking for either a racing game or a DDR so if someone happens to hear of one for sale, please send that info my way. I can’t afford any of the new racing or DDR so please don’t taunt me with those. I already drool over those machine every time I look at an arcade sales website.
That MK2011 is looking real good. Nowhere nearly as limited combo-wise. These guys are doing some fun looking shit. I see juggles, free form style juggles, juggles into air grabs,(not as limited looking as MK Armageddon) 2in1’s, strings, strings into specials, MVC2/TVC style assist combos in the tag mode, Tekken TAG style combo swaps in tag mode. 8 man rooms, you can do tag team VS online with 2 people on the same console on a team.
I’m excited for a fighting game… and it’s Mortal Kombat. Who’d have thunk it?
Wait, that Knee video was him vs. MYK…you mean there’s another video of him doing 3 taunt JU’s? Oh god. I think that is something I’ll never be able to do, the timing makes no sense.
It is not easy, to make it even more impressive Knee is doing it in open ground which makes it even harder. Against a wall, taunt JU is a little easier.
I don’t know much about pinballs, but I know Addams Family is very rare and one of the best!!! See you all Thursday, but I will not be playing fighters XD
Well it’s certainly going to take a bit more thought than me just yelling about it on the internet, but i think that it’s something that can be done, if not, something structured like it. I’ll put a bit more thought into it and see what i can come up with. Also, I’m always on the lookout for ddr machines because i like to pretend i could buy one, so i’ll let you know if i see one.
For anyone who didn’t notice, BLG Gaming posted up in the Midwest forums looking for “SSF4 Hubs” in the Midwest. I found it interesting because I’d like to know what kind of event they’re trying to plan, so I emailed the poster, Mike D., at the provided email address. I’ll keep everyone updated on what information I receive from him.
Interesting stuff Nathan, keeping your ear to the ground.
Skeez: since you are a combo enthusist like yours truly, I am wondering if you want to contribute some Kuma/ Craig combos to ‘Apocalypse Now’. Only format you need to follow is you need ‘no wall’ combos on the glitch stage (I personally called it Azure Heavens) and for them to not be staple combos. I am working on a video to show you the easy way of getting the glitch so be on the look out for it.
