Cincinnati OH, Dayton OH, and Northern Kentucky: I have the best Wesker!

I <3 you guys.

Ultimate Gamer bores me.

It’s pretty crazy. If I didn’t know some of the people on both seasons IDK how I’d actually feel about it.

“As you all know, Tekken is all about high-flying attacks.”

Was that commentary for the show? If so, it just lost any credibility it had.

Sadly.

I’ll still watch it for Justin and Faye (god forbid if there is a SSFIV), but it is really depressing. I don’t really buy anything about this show: the players, the skill levels, the hosts, the commentary, the drama…nothing.

Then dont fucking watch it. If you watch it they get ratings, if they get ratings, they get money. Doesnt sound like the proper way to put gaming on TV.

Word up peeps!?

I posted up the full results for Tekken 6 yesterday @ Bar Battles in both the SRK thread in Tourney Hype & Aftermath, as well as over on TZ as well if u wanna check them out.

Quan: Good shit on getting matches recorded my good sir. Let us know when u post that shit up. I really wanna watch the Yoshimitsu onslaught NoodleHead put on Justin Wong. Definately a must watch, even if ur not a big fan of Tekken.

That’s all 4 now. Take it easy & have a good one. Peace. :china:

Does anyone have a copy of TvC I can borrow to practice in?

I can let you borrow mine next time I see you, I’d like it back eventually but I’ve got plenty on my plate for now.

I’m Zach and I’m a dummy who can’t work other dudes computerz.

REMINDER------ Fight Night is on WEDNESDAY this week. You can come on Thursday if you want, but you will be enjoying (or not) a handful of punk bands playing and no fighting games besides the cabs. So come WEDNESDAY

What bands are playing Jesse?

I feel this deserves its own post: comicfiend items - Get great deals on Collectibles items on eBay.com!

My friend is selling a ton of comics if anyone is interested.

The show is pretty legit, sure it’s edited to be more exciting but what’s said is still said. Sometimes you’re just missing pages of the book. The people on the show have an ability to prove they are a skilled gamer either through tournament victories or through word of mouth and other people that are in the professional gaming business. Basically you have an audition and they pick you out based on personality first then achievements and your gaming related resume.

Also just watching the show won’t give them ratings there is no technology to tell how many people watch a show. This is why so many channels put things online. They can instantly say that so many people are watching the show online so this many MUST be watching it on tv. They can also use any means to try to prove a show has a high ratings base such as talk on internet forums and simply how many results they get on google for it. The only way to actually get television ratings is through the nielson ratings. Nielsen | Television This is basically a select group of people who keep track of what they watch and are paid for their time.

The show is a giant advertisement for Samsung and Microsoft. Season 1 was a complete joke, and some of these people are fuckwits. They are trying to portray gamers as some sort of alternative lifestyle when really this weekend is what actual gaming is about: Hanging out with friends and enjoying some good competition. I’m surprised this show had a season 2 with how terrible the editing and visual effects are. Not to mention they try to start drama that is blatantly scripted. Kill your brain cells with beer, don’t waste em on this show.

That’s not even remotely close to how the Neilson Ratings work.

There are actual devices connected to over 25,000 TVs in the nation that record what the users watch (that would be the technology that you claim doesn’t exist). The data gathered by these homes is translated into percentages and then translated into a statistic that shows a possible amount of homes that are watching the program across the country. It’s not a perfect method obviously, but it is what it is.

You can be asked to participate in the Neilson program when your house is selected to have the device installed, but it’s not mandatory and you’re not paid for your participation.

edit just checked their site and apparently they will pay college students for participation sometimes, which is an awesome deal actually.

Shows going online also has nothing to do with ratings, and everything to do with advertising. There is no broadcaster that claims that because x amount of people watch online x amount of people will watch. A company will put their shows online for a lot of reasons, ad revenue, to attract more interest and get people to watch on TV, and to try to expand the audience to people who either don’t have cable or who would rather watch via their PC or phone.

The part about proving a show has “high ratings” because of talk on internet forums is totally laughable, btw.

Wednesday Fight Night makes me sad, unfortunately. I have martial arts classes I attend, so no go : (

I’ll catch up with everyone next Thursday! If anyone is up to some game nights on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday though, post up!

ultimate gamer is the best show on television i don’t see how you can’t love the commentating on that show.
