Yeah…I was chillin’ w/ Kris last night & he told me about him quiting fighting games 4 good. That’s fucked up if u ask me, but it’s kind of redundant 2 argue w/ Kris about doing shit like that since he doesn’t wanna hear anything about him being good @ fighting games & what not (trust me, I can’t begin 2 tell ppl how many conversations/arguments I’ve had w/ him about that shit).
Anywho, ultimately u play these games 2 have fun. I take my games serious 4 the most part, but I love what I do & have fun doing what I’m doing when I play. I also love competition & continuously improving my skills in the games I play. The day I stop having fun, loving what I do, & have no drive towards getting better & finding ppl @ my level or better than me 2 play is the day I stop playing fighting games competitively.
If that is how Kris feels, I guess that’s just how it’s going 2 be. U can’t change ppl’s minds or their opinions 4 the most part, so that’s the way it is gonna be 4 Kris I guess if that is how he truly feels.
However, 2 say that he sucks @ fighting games is a total crock of shit. If u ask 4 my honest opionion, I believe Kris is just focused way 2 much on winning instead of focusing on what he needs 2 do in order 2 have success. It’s almost a two-fold problem if I was 2 say:

Ur insistence on winning clouds ur thinking & judgement when u play. When u don’t win, u become unraveled, when u unravel, u get super pissed & loose ur sound mind & judgement altogether.

U blame ur losses on ur shortcomings or ur inadequecies of learning things or how 2 get around certain tactics/strategies in fighting games & vice versa (creating ur own tactics/strategies). Then u blame urself 4 not being able 2 get around these situations or create better situations 4 urself. Even when ppl give u advise on how 2 improve, how 2 learn from ur mistakes, or watch how other players play 2 get around certain tactics/strategies or learn tactics/strategies 4 urself, u get frustrated & say stupid shit like “I’m 2 stupid 2 do that shit or learn that shit.” I don’t think that’s the case @ all. I think that is just purely lack of determination & laziness on ur part. As they say, “when there is a will, there is a way.”
I think u need 2 read the “Unfettered Mind” by Takuan Soho again my good sir. That’s a good read 4 anyone who wants 2 generally better themselves or 2 get themselves in the right frame of mind in order 2 be the best they can be @ whatever it is that they desire 2 pursue & master as a craft, a hobby, etc. When u read it, u’ll understand…especially u Kris. Take those lessons he’s preaching & take them 2 heart.
That’s all I gotta say on this matter. I’m in possession of Kris’ TE Arcade Stick, so whenever ur @ AL next or when I’m over @ Kam’s next, I’ll give that 2ya Quentin.

Thanks man. Yeah, Blaze was a bit repetitive, round 4 was a very good round to watch for mixups though. I used Blaze a lot over in Japan and played mostly Jackys, Vanessas, and Akiras. Granted I wasn’t in a competitive frame of mine at that time as I was just beginning to think in that way as well I wasn’t truly accepted into the VF community at the game center I went to(being gaijin and all), but I loved playing Virtua Fighter at that time and would love to get back into it.

I want to see SBO in person badly…like, I’m almost considering saving up and going there over EVO next year. Those teams look SO stacked, I’m sure the KO curse will live on though. Surprised to see Boss and Momochi switch roles, but Rikimaru tends to OCV everyone so its not like it matters. Curious to see Kuroda’s Ken in SBO action too. Either way, I’m gonna order the DVD when its out.
