i also just saw these versus pauls sagat as well… yeah he has planty of chun practice in the form of myself, kurt… etc… he knows how good the risk reward for jumping versus chun alot is even when he’s not getting alot of damage from it.

there were a few times that he jumped to full screen here that you dashed anticipating the FB and he didnt throw it… always remember chuns cr.fp from full screen… it really fucks with them.
lol you missed one very obvious ultra punish as well… man, though you had that one… but yeah playing against an aggressive sagat that really knows how to zone and abuse his jump makes this matchup SO MUCH harder… cant react to shit properly…

Question for Dae in particular but if anyone can answer I’d appreciate it. In the match with SoMuchDamage Dae got off a Lv.2 FA, dashed back, at the last second he did 1 headstomp, Target Combo(2nd hit only), land and then did three stomps. Now I figured it out but I don’t get it consistently enough. But I also feel like maybe there’s a requirement or timing I’m not seeing to get the last three headstomps since I was only getting one and whiffing the next. Anything I should know about this combo? I thought maybe MAYBE it was character specific… Thanks in advance.
There’s some discussion on that combo in the Chun combo thread. Some of it involved dashing and you can juggle EX SBK if all else fails.

That combo is in the first post of the combo thread! Lol. I wish the timing wasn’t so strict though, I’ve pulled it off online maybe…twice.
It’s also one of her trial mode combos, if I remember. Tight timing indeed.
How did they maintain the down-charge during the forward dash? Is there enough time to charge down after inputting F, F?
As soon as you input the dash start your charge down back (as its a FA attack you can input dash as the FA hits then charage back and Chun will dash forwards a few frames later), you have just enough time to then do the SBK off the first hit of cr.fp…To do the SBK just go down back to up back so you keep your charge then input super (timing varies) just after she has finished saying “Spinning Bird Kick”…
Both these are in the trials but are seperate combos in the trials…

Here’s a match I had with the Sagat Player EmblemLord. I really shouldn’t try to anticipate the Tiger Shots when I have Ultra.
Thanks to Azrael for the Sagat sub guide in the Shoto thread. I’ve been reading up on it for a couple of days and I’ve been incorporating the tips into my game. But it’s gunna take a while before I have it down to muscle memory.
This isnt necessarily a bad thing, you might wanna just practice on buffering
I usually buffer my ultra (or dash ultra) input when i anticipate a Tiger Shot and if i see one i press the three kicks, if not i dont press anything
Tiger Shots full screen are hard to dash ultra on reaction imo especially if they throw out the fast ones. At full screen I usually focus absorb to see what their patterns are. If they throw out 2 or 3 in a row then later on in the match I focus absorb dash forward ultra them

Yeahh, it’s still something I’m working on. Right now, I’m about 30% with it when I’m in training mode, and I only did it once when I was playing online. So now, I just have to get it into muscle memory. Thanks for the tip, man.

When you’re crouching in front of Ryu and block stringing him away, throw in a st.mp xx kikoken sometimes to get some chip damage.
Good try on the dash ultra.

cr.fp is -2 on block, if you’re going to use it as a first hit/poke, try to cancel the first hit to hazanshu so you aren’t left at as bad of a frame disadvantage.
