My Chun Li tutorial

Why would you follow up jump neutral HK with a sweep? Isnt there much better combos to do from that (j.hk > cr.hp > mk.SBK, j.hk > cl.hk > Ex Legs > Ultra, j.hk > Ex SBK > Ultra)?
Delay your Ultra from Ex SBK to connect more hits (wait til their feet are just above Chun’s head). Also j.TC juggle > Ex SBK > Ultra would have been nice to show as its a easy way to hit confirm a Ex SBK > Ultra set up
Sweep isn’t situation specific. It’s hard to think of what to do because you never really have time to react, walk up, and close roundhouse after you react to if it hits or not. You can with sweep, though.
I actually like it when a lot of the lightning legs whiff, and then the last launcher hits them to the full ultra. Much more damage, less scaling. Also, the opponent things they got away and dropped but the launcher shoots them back up lol.

Lol funny you would say that. Call me noob but i just found out about a combo like that and posted a video of it. I didnt do it perfectly just like i didnt get everything perfect in my main tutorial but hey…i tried cry lol.

I totally agree with waiting to get that first kick off on the ultra.
as for the neutral air kick…
What if blanka balls you and you jump over it? How else are you going to hit him? Jump over blanka forward and you both are at square one. If he ends up behind you after you neutral jump, the split kick will be able to hit in both directions. That way you can set up the combo.
Suppose you’re near the wall and he comes balling at you from med-far distance. You neutral jump, he ends up behind you and you punish with the back-reaching neutral jump hard kick + ex lightning legs + ultra or perhaps just a sweep. The same goes for E. Honda. I think you’d also agree that jumping in towards the enemy, especially a shoto, is a dangerous move. If you neutral, their jumping forward kicks or dragon/tiger up/knees fall short or go behind you. This is a clean way to zone out a jump in attack or dodge it and punish.

Land and hit him? If you ever jump a horizontal ball, jump it neutral to punish into BnB
If a Blanka is dumb enough to ball a Chun with Ultra, why scale it? Just block and Ultra the recovery. Same with Honda’s Headbutts

Thanks mayne, I saw my mistakes.
We had some all night sessions before of this…but endurance will be key at evo with 24 hour brackets, so it was a good practice. I’d say it wasn’t the lack of sleep, it’s just Sim’s fierce I underestimated. I didn’t think two of those were really THAT fast, kind of like how Blanka’s slide start up is, or Honda’s neutral jump fierce.
I wasn’t on point for not catching that teleport in the end, it was raw too. That was hard to watch lol, I pretty much lost for that but oh well.
I’ll put on a better show next time! ^^
Oh and vs his Ryu…the way he got me with the low forward into EX fireball was pretty leet. He did a meaty jab fireball right…dashed up, and when we both let out or pokes…I believe his jab fireball allowed him to beat me to the punch, then he combo’d his EX fireball into ultra. Pretty smart stuff, I’ll be more patient next time.
Np dude, I am feeling inspired by the vids here to stick one up of me playing (good to feedback, hopes it wouldn’t be “You NOOB” lol), problem is I am not sure how to do it best (and cheapest).
I have an Xbox 360 a laptop and a free (yep free) capture package called camstudio, the problem I have is I don’t know how to get it to record my xbox so any tips would be great. Likewise if camstudio can’t record my 360 any other ideas?
Like I say it needs to be cheap (like free which is why I got camstudio), any help and that would be coolio, then you can all have a look at my chun (the one that keeps getting Messages saying I paly her different and stuff).

Hey that Ken was pretty good. Too bad he kept trying to get in from the air without giving something to worry about on the ground. Max range kara focus, WATERFALL THROW (inside joke to kara focus into dash throw), and some SHOOTING STARS. But he did really good against Nemo…he had the right picture, just didn’t come out in his favor.
Even though this is a Chun forum…I kinda wish I saw how Nemo would have dealt if he balanced his ground bulldogging with his air assault. He was WORKING Nemo with that jump in short/kara tatsus the first round. Ah, so close (lol at me rooting for Ken).
When is she charging for the Ultra? I can’t see…she’s standing still and throwing out fireballs, then suddenly FADC ultra. Charging before the focus attack would be no use since she’s dashing forward and break the charge?
