Man, I think what it was…was I didn’t spar against my Rog buddy nonstop like I used to. I used to throw and block those overheads like nothing. I can honestly say I haven’t played a Rog main in 3 weeks +. Goes to show people that his options can slip hits in on people if they’re not prepared.
It’s on me though as always, can’t blame Chun for what I got hit by.
@ Nemo video. He decimates another Honda, seems less scared this time. He did get out of the corner fast every time, I don’t know why Honda didn’t anticipate the jump every time. Honda players like these take too much damage on the way in. I really wanna see what Nemo has to resort to if they walk and block, know when to not jump…etc. Overall, just not take damage on the way in…it will give Chun a harder time.
@ Blanka ultra cross up. That thing is pretty dirty, but there’s a distance where he will always cross up. If they do it at the distance where they can control it…man, just EX SBK or something if you can. I think you can focus it if you have enough life, and don’t wanna take the hit. I don’t know how good back dashing will be after it though, just a theory. I guess just block it the best they can if they’re in their fake/cross up range.
Solid gameplay though, thank you for repping Chun
Nice Nemo string into almost Ultra. That was sick. Also if he is wall diving into an attack, try a late FA so he doesnt end up throwing you while he sees you charging. From there let him eat the FA or back dash and recover. There is no reason that non Ex Vega wall dives should go unpunished. Last thing, try not to get predictible with your wake up pressure, especially if your opponent has Ultra. It can end badly
You didnt fail at all. Yea there were a few things you could have done better, like not missing your Ultra when the guy was dizzied. But you won anyway so w/e. I also love that you play on a 360 controller like me
New TRF this chun was really good and had daigo beat and just froze lol. Dude had a 60% life lead and still lost because he was just scared… it was kind of sad.
^^ lol ark, what does Japan know about the ROME PUNISH?!

Different set, few matches of the last tournament I was in are uploaded.
vs Jibbo’s Gen. His jab locked up and he couldn’t ultra for a while when I missed mine. If I would have won that round, I would have REALLY felt like a piece of shit…so thankfully, I didn’t. Aside from that, I could have lost many times…it should be a fun watch for his Gen.
vs aimforthefeet’s Zangief. I usually play the match better…but I have to take what I can in tournament and leave, even if it is sloppy. He didn’t know the match up so well, so I took advantage of that…
Thanks to aimforthefeet for the uploads, I still have one match in loser’s finals vs RyRy waiting to be uploaded. I’ll keep you guys posted .
At 3:40, that was a fierce not strong. Can’t find the strong you were talking about. st.strong will be safe from that focus unless he really releases it before he reacts to the normal.
It seems this question is more appropriate for Bison. But I’ll answer both;
With Chun, I just set it up with st.strong or whenever I think they will jump. It’s good to read a tendency before using it, easily counter poked when used often.
With Bison, it’s around the knee when they hit normal crouching characters. On taller ones, the tip hits low. It’s good to use as a preemptive anti air against jumpers. Locks then down…etc. st.forward is a good duo with it do counter shoto low forward, since it goes over and hits them further than the roundhouse.
Yeahhh I saw a twitch and let it out, but with no dash. My Jap stick training isn’t complete apparently . I’ll step it up though!!
Hey, he saved me from Akuma one match. So thank Bison for allowing Chun matches to be uploaded aka saving my ass lol. I really thought I could lame out a console character with Bison, but Jibbo is way too smart for that shit. He knew that match up well apparently.
EX SBK beats it clean, it depends though. They can safe jump it. Best thing to do is know how they jump and optimize whether or not it is safe. Then do the appropriate action. Safe jumping = back dash, them trying to hit you = EX SBK.
Very safe move, also beats lariat. Also, I do this new thing where I jump in on Gief on his wake up. They have to crouch lariat it, BUT…I time it so that I don’t land on their reversal, but at the same time…I make them think about standing to block, so they don’t crouch lariat it. It wins a lot, and it is extremely dirty .
Glad you enjoyed them. Really, I don’t know much about the Gen match up. All I can do is survive and try to play like an asshole.
Oh hmm, interesting. Yeah, that BAAARELY hit the recovery of st.strong. I can’t remember if I did a move after it or not. Maybe I’m wrong about st.strong being so gdlk. I’m probably just used to focus attacks that don’t clip it, like Sagat/Ken. Gen’s focus attack is pretty deceivingly serious :p.
So I was away playing SFIV since saturday, was a pretty big tourney with a nice amount of cash prize and also an 22" hd screen for top 3.
Lots of Chun vs. Rufus action going on, my matches vs. Yagami’s Dhalsim weren’t capped unfortunatley since they were played in the semi-finals of winner’s bracket.
Skatan-Good stuff Skatan. Were they chanting your name? I wish I was that hype. You seem to know the rufus match up very well but you got hit with the messiah kicks follow up when you didn’t need to. Use LK hazanshu, it’ll avoid and punish the overhead and the sweep but if he does the bellyflop, you’ll just keep on blocking. Careful though, I believe he can not just do any follow up and do another ex messiah. Other than that, well played.
