quick question though:
i noticed that you dont use chuns normal AA’s much (smart guy :tup:) you also tend to block alot of jumpins… are you not afraid of getting thrown and being in there mixup? or do you crouch tech alot?
i’m seeing more and more chuns and american players at high level in general opting to just block jumpins (azrael blocks a shitload of them as well)… this is something i’m rarely willing to do cause of the fact that i dont like to be in other peoples mixups… this leads me to getting hit by jumpins alot cause of mistiming my aa’s, so i needed a new strat… combining that with her air to air aa’s seems to be the way to go, atleast from watching those vids against edma.
another thing i noticed (amongst many) was that you have a mixup on offense involving hasan shu or jumpin fpx2… THIS IS AWESOME. when i first watched your match with edma at the tourny, i was wondering why you were getting so many jumpins AND hasan shus.
after watching your matches though it seems to me that people dont want to focus against you much cause of the threat of jumping fierce x 2… which of course leads to you being able to get more hasan shus at will.
i also noticed that you attacked out of disadvantage against edma alot as well, i’ll have to think about doing that more… make chuns weak attacks as fearsome as rogs!

Just take the throw, what would you rather eat? A throw or a jump in roundhouse - low forward - fierce shoryu from Ken(Or any other combos from other characters)? That the possibility of a mistimed anti-air? Even if I do get the anti-air in, the chance of getting counter hit on both parties are at stake as well in Ken’s favor. Throws don’t do a lot of damage, after that you got relax and find a way out of the corner and etc.
Being at disadvantage, what’s the point of making the other opponent attacking you for free if you’re just going to walk backwards? A smart player would stop going after you on a life lead advantage, for they know that Chun is not Sagat who can spam fireballs or do some wacky ambiguous cross ups. So the best thing to do is attack and get them off guard.

This is the Fei Long player I mentioned earlier. I kicked his ass, so I guess he was just having an off night. But I did spend some time thinking about how to beat him in the offseason, and was able to apply some of those tactics in the match. This is literally the first time I’ve beaten him in like 10 tries.
The Guile player is the same from the last vid. I guess he adapted to my playstyle, so now I have to return the favor.

ROFL @ the EX legs hitting him twice. That must have morally hurt him. I noticed you didn’t use any focus attacks on him. At a mid range, if he starts to act up and get wild like that, you can calm him down with some focus usage.
Viper player - He was focusing on trying to do some cool stuff while you beat him down. Not much to say, but he happened to be the one you captured on video heh.
Guile player - I think you may have gotten impatient in the corner and taken some unnecessary damage. I don’t blame you though, it’s Guile and I most likely would have too since I don’t respect him much. At least now I can learn to do so from watching your video. You’ll get him next time, easy.

Chun Li Vs Guile
Thanks! I played against him a few more times this weekend, and now I’m beating him consistantly. Mid range I’ll do FA stance, and while he doesn’t attack at least it keeps him honest. If he gets in, I spam EX Legs. 
I treat the matchup a little bit like Zangief, in that I basically want to keep him out. That’s where Fei shines, so don’t let him do what he does best.

I’m using a dinky 1 GB memory card, so, unfortunately I run short on matches. In the 2nd match, I would have died offline from dive kick -> close short -> close fierce into tornado, he had the ultra and positioning for it.
