I didn’t see any real mashing in that vid at all. Most of those actions were well calculated and not as random as it looks (kind of necessary in a Chun mirror).
Yeah I know when to mash jabs too. Also when to do random hasan-shu, but I guess it’s suited for this particular match up…
wow, that was some retarded stuff right there.
Old A3 Player SHINYA plays a pretty nice Chun:

Shinya has come a long way, glad to see him playing a very clean Chun now. That Chun vs Gief match was everything Azrael said it was, too.
Although, I don’t think the Gief player was good, it appears he was lacking knowledge in that match up, heavily.
The way he took risks tells people to wake up ultra on him in clutch situations. He got the job done though, so good shit to him.
I would like to see HOT’s SF4 Chun man. I was quite surprised at some of the characters switches players chose coming into the new game. (Makoto switching to Vega etc)
Nuki’s chun has moved over from SF3 to SF4 quite nicely. Love watching him play, although watching him win close to all of his matchs in SF3 can get tiresome
Backdash, EX legs
Great play from Shinya.

Footage of me this time, playing in local team tournament against Renegade’s Zangief.
<- Kuronuko vs Momochi
-
Momochi wasn’t playing his perfect defense we’re used to seeing
-
Kuronuko threw away his lead. Possibly due to Akuma’s safe pressure? That’s the only viable reason I see, otherwise he should have played much safer.
Stay tuned…I have 8 matches of me vs Dr. Chaos in queue uploading.

Some casuals online. Everyone messes up online but the games were fun…hope you guys enjoy it as much. It was at like 5 A.M. so we both get hit by funny stuff. Dr. Chaos tears me up for free offline though.
Oh, I only put the names because I may copy and paste in the Ken video thread.
SHIT MM!
your chun has gotten even better!
the way your moving her now is exceptional… only watched the first 2 matches, but it was alot like watching an olschool chun v chun, with the way you were moving… probably 'cause ken is more footsies based like chun than most characters are, definitely my favorite kind of matches to play and watch.

newschool chun v chun is spazzy as all hell… i learned this when playing against nashfan, he was all over the place and i had to do the same.
i like the oldschool way of playing the matchup more though… nuki and nemo look like a couple of spazzes in the mirrors. but i totally understand the strategy… its kinda like cable versus cable in MVC2 (both players launching bombs trying to control the space above the others head)
yeah chun isnt trying to control space the way cable does…but it still seems as if chun v chun is like watching a character that cant handle itself, play itself…i worded that weird but i think you get what i am saying.
-edit match 5 = pure awesome.

lovin the backstep versus kens low short on his wakeup… traits of my chun…pisses me off when i get swept tho or when they mash more than 1 weak kick. chaos is nice as well, a lil much fa of course but he should definitely be abusing it cause it gives chun so many problems, really liking not seeing the F+MK spam that most kens (including myself) use.
it seems from these matches that your the better player…even though you lose most of them. but you say that he kicks your ass offline also… it would seem to me from watching up to vid 5 that the primary strat thats giving you problems is his mix of FA and jump… far st.hk would do well versus both… but kara FA is killing that strat… hmmm
also use ex hasan shu on wakeup to get out of his ex srk tick damage finisher… i think this works. and mk or lk hasan shu versus wakeup lows is awesome but risky as hell versus wakeup ultra (which he doesnt seem to do) adding that into your mix will make him want to start using reversals more often on wakeup.
-edit lol right after i say u should start using HS on his wakeup you started doing it… HA!

NSB! :karate:
Here is a match between me and Ninja CW. Added by him.
Thanks for the kind words, Dime. Yeah I lost to him in tournament, he conserves his kara focus a lot more. I think the match up is really fun, Chun has a lot of tools but so does Ken. The reason I’m afraid of Ken more is because of the options like I said before. With Ryu…it’s not really a question of where he’s going, but he trades that f or damage when he connects. Ken is a lot harder to keep out and prevent from landing hits on me. The EX tatsu, kara tatsu, and occasional step kick get him in nicely.
It’s hard to play around the kara focus at first…but the main thing I look for is to just 2 hitter with a projectile + poke…or just get out of the attack range and give him the space as long as I don’t get hit.
I learned a lot about the match up that set, especially in the poking department. Chun doesn’t want to use st.fierce, you can see me lose with it often. His low forward goes under and hits it. Chun’s low forward counter pokes shotos’ 3rd strike style, no range needed as long as they stick their leg out. st.strong is more viable for offensive poking (safe from focus) and cr.roundhouse is best for counter poking the low forward/sweep or just tagging after they absorb a hit. Oh and low forward and jabs also stop his step kick, or makes him pause when bulldogging.
Thanks for the EX HS escape, I gotta try that…sounds promising. I tried to predict when he would back dash out of his focus and try and tag it with an EX HS/HS and failed lol.
Also, I don’t think I’m the better player. Final score was 20-20 and he has a 2-0 win over me in offline tournament. I was just trying harder in the videos I suppose. :arazz:

Nashfan…I see NinjaCW in the Viper forums, was cool to see you two play. I just think both of you need to use more match-up tools…rather than just doing the regular universal gameplay.
When he has the lead like that…I tend to like to throw a lot. Psychologically, they want to keep the lead and block a lot (WELL, most of the time…!) so I want to soften then up a bit before I go for my EX leg combos.
I’m realizing from a lot of these videos that I’m not patient enough.
writes that down
Posted before but had to do it again. Yasuda, Tiba, and Adoribu (no homo?) vs others.
Chaos when we team with Rome at Summer Jam we gotta be the Yasuda + Tiba connection!
Great fights Mag. Your dash legs were nice as hell. I lost all respect for that guy match 7 though.
Thanks. What’s wrong with what he did though? It’s like a chess game, he executed a legit strategy…I personally thought it was amazing and new how Ken had great defensive options like that. Kara EX tatsu > Ryu/Akuma regular tatsu out the corner, at the cost of a meter.
