Couple of screw-around mirrors with my friend. So it’s true, a layoff + worse players can sucker you into said players’ habits, as well. He’s proving hard to teach … here, I use U1.

Found some older vids of myself too. Basically… stuff NOT to do in the Sagat matchup. lol

So this might be old news that everyone knows about but decided is useless, but after playing around in training mode for a while i found a mixup thing that might be interesting i guess.
[details=Spoiler]
this is how it looks on ibuki(yes that is really a crossup) it also shows how it whiffs if she crouches
[/details]
Depending on when you do the stomp j.mk may or may not cross up, and since the stomp hits pretty low it’s hard to tell from an empty jump. From my (limited) testing, gouken is the only one it works on both standing and crouching, but if they stand block the stomp the mixup works on most of the cast. The timing when you input the stomp to cross up does vary per character though(ibuki needs to be really late, abel really early).
Another silly, useless thing i found is that late jumpin headstomp, j.hp TC(you must delay the second hit), c.lp/lk xx whatever all combos on standing Rufus. It’ll never happen in a match unless maybe you want to style after a dizzy, but it looks pretty cool.
it works on standing sagat too
i have been toying with stomps for a while
but for the most part are useless.

Just for fun you can also do chuns standard safe jump off of forward throw setup then immediately go into the stomp shenanigans

Feel free to visit his channel for the rest of the vids and even leave comments and critiques if you want too. On the same token, he has been a great help to me on my stuff as well.

and this was only the third time I played her in a real match, I don’t get how you can get that many point and still lose to a scrub like me. of course I lost the next game due to major flowcharting.

^Either he beats up a lot of worse players, or does PP boosting aka “tanking”. Basically beat a willing friend or dummy account with perfects over and over to farm for points. It’s been a prob since vanilla. Also lolonline

man, I don’t think I deserved to win this
had a lot of fun during the set though, but I left after this game

I feel the need to comment here, feel free to take what I say with a grain of salt but here are some food for through pointers.
Yeah, most of those things were due to inexperience, I didn’t even know that you could anti-air with st.mk when I played against that Ken and sometime I don’t feel like I can focus fireballs properly because of that tiny bit of lag. Also, that Ryu was many times better than me and pulled some really good stuff in the matches before that, so I was really getting intimidated.
How the heck do you do st.mp xx Kikouken anyway?
Get in the lab and give these a shot in order to hone your charge buffer/hiding skills down.
You already know you can hold down back to charge, so:
Holding down back:
Cr. Lp, Cr. Lk, Cr. Lp. St.Mp xx Kikouken (you’ll have to shift your charage to straight back as you stand up, hitting st.mp keeps you stationary this is a very common blockstring for Chun Li)
Cr. Lp, Cr. Lk, Cr. Lp, Cr. Hp xx Kikouken (not as useful for in-game but good to cancel the Cr. Hp, same timing as canceling into SBK or HSU)
Cr. Lk, Cr. Lp, Cr.Mk xx Kikouken
Another good one, say you have your opponent stunned or jumping over a fireball - J.HK, Cl.St.Hk xx Kikouken (basically you can hold back while in the air , this is also a high damaging setup for Super, where you cancel kikouken into your Super.
Other tidbits
As you poke with say St. Mp you need to also hold back, if you have adequate charge you can cancel St. Mp into Kikouken (typically HP). really good for focus heavy opponents.
St. Lp will also allow you stay stationary as you hide you charge and not give up any ground.
Just a few execution things to work on that’ll help amp up your game.
If you choose to play a zoning based Chun then you should have the mindset that you always have charge.
Also highly recommend checking out One Handed Terror or OHT via youtube
vast amounts of beginner to intermediate knowledge can be gathered here.
Which console do you play on? I prefer XBL, but I can play on either one and if you like I can help you out. Show you some block strings, a few traps – I’ll keep it as simple as you like.
Seems that I just didn’t have enough charge when trying to do it.
And I’m playing on the PC, but thanks anyway.
All is good
Definately be sure and check out that youtube channel though
It’ll help a lot.
His commentary as he plays is quite informative and although the game has evolved since his postings the core fundamentals will always hold true.
