I’ll chime in because I saw it: you gave up a lot of ground. I forget where I read it, but someone on here (I think) commented on how they realized that they would score a knockdown and then walk backwards to throw a kikoken (EDIT: not against Dhalsim in particular, just in general). Worse, you were doing it while he was standing. If you’re inside his cr.:hp: range, keep walking forward (slowly, so as not to eat limbs, mind you). Most sims will want to walk back and will walk themselves into the corner.
I’m good friends with LuckyD, so I’ve got a lot of experience with the matchup against a really good sim, and (though I never beat him) I can tell you that I had the best results when I played patiently and didn’t give up space. See below video for examples

The first round in particular is a really, REALLY good example. The only times that I walk backwards he’s in the air (my excuse is that he could throw out limbs at any time and I can’t hold :db: 'cause it’s an overhead, but I really should have focused them). If you get Dhalsim in the corner, it becomes very Chun-poke intensive. (As an aside, the way that he ended that round blew my mind. He’s too good. NERF LUCKYD.) Also check out ~2:40. I do a little stutter-step forward. It’s a good way to close space (slowly and patiently) while not opening yourself up for limbs. Don’t get predictable though.
Close s. hk (her knee move) vs teleports. It’s something nashfan said in the FB group/chat, and it’s something I frequently forget to do vs Dhalsims. Foci (but be mindful of s. hp) and keeping inching closer. Don’ t be afraid to throw out kikokens and even pokes from afar, the light attacks can stuff his limbs sometimes.
Well really bumbed you only see like 4 seconds of that fight while he mindless rambeled on.
And no I didn’t wake up Ultra – curious why you asked? He actually Ultra’d me on my wake up and just bearly didn’t clear he wall jump it like seriously caught her skirt tail.
I remember that fight well and the one time he didn’t do something I expected I Neutral Jumped on my wake up. his Ultra would have chipped me to death anyway. I could have won – should have won actually. But oh well.
Something makes me think that it would trade. Chun has a hurtbox as soon as she has a hitbox (which is why you can trade with slow fireballs or if you yomi’d one).
LOL, clueless in the Gen matchup (though thanks to my friend I’m learning little by little… these are a month or two old when I really had no clue). Labelling these properly in the morning.
Please go back to page 91 and all the way to this latest one. Comment/critique is greatly appreciated. Please give me any help you can, I really need it. Thank you very much.
Well I promised to start doing replays again and that also includes SFIV content that may go live tonight or at some point before the end of the week… For the moment, I just wanted to share a small sample of Soul Calibur V from my video collection, based upon players in my sparring circle/random competitors.
