you have to remember those guys that only fight ppl that are worse than themselves, thats the only way they have those numbers, the other day i fought a blanka with 20k BP and 2.6 pp, worst blanka ever
Crossposting on Juri forums, after finding a few of that m/u looks like it’s the case. It’s scary if you let her store and gain meter.
For some reason in training mode, when I do EX Legs into Ultra 2, Sim seems to fallout after the first hit or just fall out completely. Has anyone else tried this at all?
Could just be my timing since I’m not all that great, but it’s happened a few time I’ve tried it in the corner.
I’ve never used u2 against Sim so I wouldn’t know.
I’ll test this either tonight or tomorrow morning if you haven’t gotten an answer by then, but I’ll echo Meeks’s sentiment; in the Dhalsim matchup, I’ll say that ultra 1 is highly - highly - recommended. Still, though, it’s good to know about weird shenanigans; it can have applications elsewhere.
Well, looks like I do have old footage against the friend’s Oni wherein I don’t jump as much.

Old vids, but Meeks did correctly point out the mashed legs thing and how I sometimes inexplicably backdash away even though I’ve established pressure/momentum with Chun’s s. mp/Hazanshu/other pokes. Looking back, I think I’m trying to bait reversals/SRK’s when I do that, but it’s definitely an overboard way of doing it. I’m gonna work on fixing that.
And something for Snake… the thigh reduction is criminal, though.

Old AE but recent and some hilariously embarrassing play, I really need to learn my alts… I was expecting reflects and c.hp’s from this guy but didn’t get any. lol @ chip Super failure towards the end.

Is it just me? This might sound crazy, but I find it harder and more frustrating fighting bad players than I do good ones. I win of course, but I feel like I’ve taken so much unnecessary stress, it was not fun at all, I didn’t learn anything new, and my IQ dropped a few points because the other player used the most random (if not repetitive) tactics known to man. I’d rather lose and learn against much better players than go through that mess, it can’t possibly be healthy for me in the long term.
I pretty much swore off playing the local T Hawk butter churner (who is now learning Rose too… ugh) for those reasons.
Not strange at all. Good players tend to play more calculated and are accustomed to set patterns while “bad” players are, as you put it, entirely random and unorthodox. So you tend to experience them doing the following:
[]Wakeup attacks (often frequently)
[]Random ultra
[]mashed inputs
[]turbo
So yes, IF you do end up losing – it’s understandable that you would be annoyed because of their thought process isn’t like someone who is being played with logic or intelligence. They’re basically going for the Hail Mary approach all. the. time.
Long-term exposure isn’t useful since it can impact your good habits, so if you choose to play them – use that time to work on a certain technique (like AAs) or just ignore them.
For those reasons I’d really like to find around 30 people that use a couple different characters really well and just play those people all the time and screw random people.
I don’t mind losing to solid players – it use to burn my ass because I wanted to be good so bad losing drove me nuts and I didn’t feel like I was getting better if I lost. But now I’m far more competent and seek opponents that won’t kick me out of there lobby because I haven’t played 130 hours of ranked matches, lol. It is sad to get kicked from an endless lobby because my PP isn’t high – I remember Wii talking about that! A connection issue is one thing but – come on!
I generally know what I have to do against random and scrubby players to win, and will generally not let that affect the way I’m used to playing. Winning against random players is as much a skill as beating a good player. Key is adaptation.
I grab a scrub, I choke em! All day long a foot up a scrubs ass. Bang bang bang that’s my pleasure!
I’m not necessarily calling the random people I fight scrubs. I just fight’em and leave’em (if they aren’t worth it) or they get mad that my 600pp Chun beat’em regardless of how much ‘skill’ I showed them during the fight – these are the randoms I’m talking about. I’ve even had a few 4k-5k players just stand in one place during the fight and let me hit them, I’ll do the leg loop and figure they’ll take it seriously and I’ll let them hit me back to even the health up but nope they continue to stand. Clearly they think they are someone they are not. Personally if I were truly nasty with my character I’d destroy every opponent that stepped in to face me. But thats me – go for the juggler and rip the bloody throat out.
Didn’t know to use that ultra for the matchup. When I don’t know I usually just go with Ultra 2 since it’s easier to combo into and more applicable.
A very legitimate tactic as a general rule. Ultra 2 has a lot more comboability and practicality, but Ultra 1 shines in a handful of matchups (Honda, lots of fireballers except Guile and Juri, Seth, Blanka, the list goes on). My general rule of thumb is: can I reversal punish something that this guy is going to do on block? Can I punish something on reaction? If yes to either/both, go with U1.
Thanks guys, I’ll try not to sweat things too much. But if I still end up being annoyed by lesser players, I’ll definitely have to avoid and keep on seeking those of equal and better skill.
Just some old-ish casuals I’m digging up from my old HD… Aug-Oct 2011 I wager.

lol @ the ending of this one. I usually do HSU vs random super/U1, really good way to silence scrubbier Ryu’s… but sometimes I panic press too much and get legs, whoops. But damn if that wasn’t a funny way to end a match.

What happened with this one? Did the launcher magically cross-up like Wesker’s super in MvC3? Or did the other guy just forget to block? I’ve had that happen a few times.
Probably just a dropped block. People like to try to get a hit in before the launcher. Patience is a virtue. :china:

Not gonna write a lot about it but:
Why U2?
You jumped a LOT against sim, some sims have really bad spacing for AA’s so I get you can test out jumping at them near the start of a match, however even before the match given the sim you’re fighting its fair to assume his keep out game was going to be strong.
Awful punish on his whiffed Ultra, you threw him into the corner which was good but in that situation why did you not punish it with cl.hk xx EX Legs, U2 for much better damage and he still would have been in the corner. Also poor punishes means that players won’t be scared of doing unsafe things in future matches and games.
You went for tick throws several times and got punished everytime, if they are pressing buttons and stopping you throwing them then frametrap them…
Probably could have had better meter management and been more patient (Chun can zone Sim to a degree you don’t have to rush in, in a lot of cases it cost you rounds unless your reads are on point)
^^^ Thank for advice. I really up my game to another level every since. You are right playing sim you have to be real patient. I ask myself that too why U2 when U1 is the clear choice.
I want a rematch vs filipino champ lol.
