St. Mk is godlike Anit-Air against Sakura
I’m not sure what Wii told you Neqs but I do know it was good stuff for sure.
the only thing I can say is you weren’t nailing the cr.lks after HSU. we all know its a possible option just like Cr. LP-HP after HSU but it can be difficult to land.
All I suggest is for whatever reason you weren’t landing it, rather it was nerves - or just having a bad day (it happens). You’ve gotta see that it isn’t working for you at that time and go for another option. It ended up being predictable for the Sakura player otherwise.
I’m just testing my upload capabilities and here is a combo I’m learning at the moment:

In description I’ve put info on how I do it on gamepad reliably.
Expect matches coming soon.
P.S. I’m using Logitech Rumblepad 2 gamepad (basically xbox like) and PS3 pad when playing at a friends house on PS3, duh…
Yeah, thanks guys. Been moving between my old KOF stick and a HRAP 3. I find the latter to be better, but I feel that it’s too thick/high on my wrists sometimes. I think I’ll just have to get my Exar KOF stick modded– change the buttons to Sanwa and change the stick or at least tighten the spring (as it’s gotten loose).
Really should have kept her out better, and used a different approach when one bnb when the conventional wasn’t working.
I’ve got a problem with my stick turning on me while I’m playing, I rest it on the side-pads they come packed with from Mad cats and sit cross legged in front of it. occasionally it’ll get wonkie on me, lol. but I sit on the pads to make it easier on my wrists
Here is my latest upload. I started playing some online matches again. This is versus Bison and me playing really bad:

I’ll uploading another one vs Ryu. Feel free to comment and critique.
P.S. Those are regular SF4 matches, I’ll be recording offline matches of SSF4.
A lot of Bison vs Chun info by SnakeAES on this page: "Becoming the strongest woman in the world!" Chun-li Match-up Thread
I might just comment on Youtube itself, since I have some Bison vs Chun matches as well
And here is the other match vs Ryu. I played this one even worse … I feel like I could have won it if I’d played it smarter.

P.S. Bloody hell, my uploads take forever and it is only 250mb non HD…
I don’t know which is crazier, still playing vanilla or 250 megabytes for 2½ minutes of video.
I would play Super if I could, but it is not available here.
I don’t bother with video compression, I just upload it the way it is recorded… Perhaps I should do something about that.
Well, I still do from time to time because it’s the nearest option for me, and cheaper option at the arcade. Losing a lot as AE at the arcades isn’t so good financially for me, not to mention having to travel more than a bit just to get an educational ass-kicking. Sometimes you really have to make do. I’ll get AE2012 and good sticks (well, repair the faulty one so I have two decent ones) for my Xbox eventually.
I miss Chun’s old vanilla damage.
Things I noticed: you seem to put yourself in the corner a few times. If you’ve got your foe in the corner, df.:hk: isn’t worth it…(almost) everyone will see it coming, and even if they don’t, the 100/200 damage/stun isn’t worth it, as you can get more than that by keeping them in the corner pretty easily.
In the audio, I hear a lot of mashing…not sure if that’s you or your opponent, but if it is you, cut that stuff out! As a recovering masher myself, it’s so beneficial to take the time and learn proper timings.
I noticed you extending legs a lot. I would advise against it unless you’re hit confirming; extended legs pushes people out and gives weird frame (dis)advantage and can be easily punished.
Your AAs are on point most of the time, but so are your opponent’s. If he’s AAing you, stop jumping at him. There’s no point in giving out free damage.
Oh man, I forgot how much I love the vanilla announcer!
I just played a bunch of matches vs Weaksauce’s Dictator this past Friday. I’m gonna embed one in my next post.
Chun’s got good footsies…but so does Dictator. At the start of the match, you do the walk back/forward that sort of suggests, “I want to play footsies with you.” You have a fireball and he doesn’t. If he’s not running in, get some free chip with fireballs.
@0:36 at that range, if he n.jumps on your wakeup, EX bird won’t work. He’ll come down right in the middle where she can’t hit.
I’m not sure how well cr.:hp: works as a “defensive” poke. Yes, it beats out scissors if you time it right, but you’re ~-15 if it whiffs. Final verdict: exercise this tool with caution.
@1:20 I’d be careful doing another df.:hk: on his wakeup after you already did it once. He may be expecting it this time and punish it (this guy wasn’t, so you lucked out, but you’ll encounter people who are more than prepared for it).
@1:25 again, throw fireballs. Keep him out. Don’t let him walk you into the corner. That’s where he gets a lot of his damage, and Chun’s corner options leave a lot to be desired.
Not exactly sure of the hitboxes, but I believe that, if he’s doing stomps, there’s nothing that you can do to beat it air-to-air. It’s probably better to stay on the ground and dash in/out and punish depending on where/how he lands.
Right off the bat, he does a tatsu and follows up with a poke. He goes on to do another tatsu and another poke. Recognize his patterns and punish them. By the time he goes for the third tatsu, throw a reversal EX bird, or grab him, or EX legs.
Good ultra punish…don’t let him get away with that many fireballs in a row.
Anti-air this dude! He’s throwing so many unsafe jumps. far.:hp: looks like it would have punished all of them…heck, this is vanilla, where are your df.:lk:s?
If he wants to walk back, walk him to the corner. Let it happen.
Learn to block crossups. He abused them in this match, and none of them were all that ambiguous.
You seem to suffer from the same thing that I often do: poor fireball spacing. Take note of when you should throw fireballs and when you shouldn’t (namely, when it trades with his j.:hk:).
I’m no pro, but I figured I’d give what advice I had. If anyone sees anything glaringly wrong with my analysis, please let me know!
Thank you sir. :china:
I’m not sure who was mashing harder  that was definitely frustration out of my EX legs (often turning out just as regular legs) ineptitude that day. Maybe a few crouch techs or so, was trying to see if it’s true that you should just delay tech hit as much as possible and not just mash it. It might really be time go get this stick examined, and just borrow the friend’s HRAP3 in the meanwhile.
I’m the one posting feedback on your YT account btw. :shy:
Just an addendum for @7h30n
Don’t be afraid to walk forward/do some focus attacks once in a while vs Bison too. He’s a charge character too. You walked yourself into the corner very early in the match, and Bison excels with Scissors Kicks lockdown (as Skatan mentioned in the matchup thread, it’s practically his version of a fireball trap). Should have fired more kikokens from mid to far as well, and don’t be scared of Devil Reverse. If it whiffs from afar, you can Ultra it (Ultra 1 in the later games). Try to move forward (just walk) and see if you can scare him/force him to move back, using only your normals and kikokens.
Be careful of his EX Psycho Crusher when he gets up too.

Some games vs a friend’s Cody. I have maybe 2 or 3 who use him. Once they figured I could do that with U1, they stopped using the sand and stuck with Ruffian FADC U1. lol

@4neqs: yeah, I know. Thanks! =D
As an aside, I can’t stand HRAPS…they’re so freaking wide, but so short so my wrist doesn’t rest on it. To each his own I guess =)
Here’s a match vs Dictator played by none other than Weaksauce/Rob Stevens. (He pulled in top 16 at NEC with his Sagat. He’s easily in the top 3 in my area along with LuckyD (Dhalsim) and Gridman/Craig Stevens (Viper) (#5 at NEC).)
This was the first match that I played against his Dictator that night. I know SnakeAes gave a lot of good Dictator advice, and I tried to use some of it. I feel like I played pretty defensively. Is that generally a good thing or a bad thing against Dictator?

I went on to play another five plus matches against him. Check out my channel if you want to see them (I don’t want to flood here n_n; ).
Unless it pushes you out of the last few active frames, Criminal Upper is only punishable by reversal Ultra 1 if it’s the :mp:, :hp: or EX version (which your opponent will not be using if he notices that you blocked the lead-in). Assume that you’ll always have 5 frames (:lp: version) after a blocked Criminal Upper and mash out EX or :lk: legs; it’s STUPIDLY easy (just press the button(s) over and over while it’s hitting you), decent damage, and gives you a soft knockdown. The :lk: version will come out in time, but the spacing is wonky. Go for EX if you can afford the meter.
Right in the beginning of the second video, you FA > backdashed a cr.:lp:…can you elaborate on that? Is it safe? What do you know about it?
EDIT: Why is there no EX icon that you can embed with two colons?
Focus backdash stuff? More of a force of habit from me now than anything else. Primarily, it’s a means of getting away or at least establishing the right spacing. But I sometimes get carried away with it. But I feel that if the other guys don’t know or don’t do anything to tag the backdash, I can still use it.
I’ve punished more tornadoes with Hosenka in the past. I suppose the Cody’s have wised up and started using the :lp:
Reversal legs/EX legs to punish tornadoes sounds like what you can do after blocking a Zangief green hand.
re: Bison vs Chun matchup, I sent you some videos on youtube via private message. I hope they can help.
Desk in the lab with Chun.

This is Weaksauce we’re talking about here. He’s no slouch. I’m not gonna get away with that kinda stuff =P
But the point is, unless you know which Criminal Upper he’s using, you might be giving him a free full punish. I’d advise against it. In the time since my last post, I’ve actually found that punishing with :lk: Legs is a no-no! I’m working on a video about it, but in short, it’ll only hit him twice, and if he’s on his toes he can easily punish with cr.:lk: xx Criminal Upper. However, I discovered that cr.:lp:, cr.:lp:, st.:lp:, st.:hp: is a SWEET punish, but it’s tough to time the first jab.
I got your PM, thanks good sir =)
Dagon: Always go for what will deliver the best damage because you may not get the opportunity again…
