Speaking of bad Chun players and uploading losses in order to improve? Here I am, again

I might have sneaked in a win there
TBF I upload losses and generally try to be honest in my descriptions of how the overall session went. However a LOT of my fights I’m kinda reluctant to upload, not cos I lose because unlike Meeks (sorry mate) I think you’re much less likely to get useful advice from people on matches you win, although Meeks I have to also add you normally make valid comments on all my matches.
Instead its because I don’t like or in some instances don’t feel I can or should upload fights I have against some of the players I play, its kinda complicated and I don’t really want to explain it fully here but there are reasons…
Also good to know you don’t hate me, I guess not long after I first started posting on here I got the impression it was a bit of a boys club and I was like the outsider, even though I had been playing SF and other fighting games for a long time and SF actually got me my job lol. It always felt like I had no right to be posting, things have changed on here a lot recently.
Anyway as this is the Video thread I’ll leave it there, also I need to start posting more of my matches here, good ones and bad ones for help and god forbid for people to look at as helpful tips cos I really never post here…
thanks! ive learned alot from you as well as alot of others quietly reading through here. I would like to do a short write up one day i haven’t been contributing as much as i should have been >.<
ok here’s the thing. I am not hating on no chun li players but i watch these vids chun against chun and its like what the hell do yall be doing. Jumping all over the place, picking U2 for what reason i dont know, mashing out lighting legs and so much other stuff. There is like so many things on this site that not a lot of chun li players are using. When I play online or at touneys i be thinking oh this match is going to go the way me and cardell plays its. Nope they just let me rush them no or they have no way of getting in. Can someone tell me what is the problem. So ppl r getting better but over all its like why keep putting things on the chun thread when ppl are not using it. I played one chun off of here and he didnt throw no one fireball. Then i was like why do i have U1 there is no point no i dont need. A lot of chun dont know who to dash u1 im like really. SO please help me.
^^^
What is it that you actually trying to say? And what video’s are you referring to specifically, if you think people are doing things wrong then offer direct advice to those people. Also this place is here (the Chun forum) as a place for people to learn her and get advice from “better” Chuns, so not everyone that posts here is going to be the finished article.
You could be constructive and help the people you’re referring too Rather than just ranting about it, if you think it will help you could even give a write up on how you tackle the Chun Mirror, what your strategies are, your gameplan etc… and how you approach turtle or rushdown Chuns as in shutting down their offence or getting in past their defence.
That might help some of the players you’re talking about on here, however just saying people don’t play it right and mash EX Legs (which I hate to see as well, its not a good reversal and on block its a waste of meter) “SO please help me” isn’t really helping… Instead you could help others.
No offence intended btw and no doubt you’ll probably take offence at this but really its better to be constructive as opposed to being destructive, just a thought…
Yes, I don’t think it would hurt to quote/respond to the mirrors that you’re referring to specifically. I think that’s just the way it goes… the scrub/lesser-skilled community will always be in greater proportion than the intermediate and good ones.
I’m sure people make use of the tut and tip vids. It’s just that not very many people post (lurkers).
I know you are good launchpad, but honestly, contempt is not something an aspiring Chun needs. Not everyone is a natural and there are players at all levels of skill who post here. Friendly advice that is around or slightly above the player’s current skill level is probably going to be the most helpful.
I don’t even see what you’re trying to get at with this post. Maybe it’s your less than impressive comprehension of the English language, but coming on here, acting like your shit don’t stink and then pointing out things in a vague and insulting fashion doesn’t really do anyone (including yourself) any favours. I believe you are an exceptional Chun player, but your delivery of criticisms is left little to be desired imo.
LOL… Shame this place doesn’t allow you to give rep anymore… Oh well
+rep
I get what your saying. I can understand why you’d want to push the community of Chun players and why you’d be frustrated at how it’s progressing. At the end of the day you have people like yourselves posting up good information and high level strategy but there are still new people learning and they have to learn how to walk first. p.s. If I was closer to the EC i’d whoop ur butt with u2 baby!
I use Ultra 2 in the chun mirror.
thank you
i am not bashing anyone who plays chun it just so much stuff on here and its like why
i just want chuns that post vids on here to get better so yall can help me out
thats all
i will help anyone thats how i got better
but to climb that mountain a little faster it would be better to have a chun player how u can see though
it helps a lot
oh lud i think u1 is the best cause it stops her from throwing fireballs or at least think about throwing them and it punish random flip kicks
chun li’s love their flips kicks lol
It might help to be specific on what you need help with. We’re all here to help each other out, but your previous post didn’t have any content suggesting you wanted to help those who needed it. Again, you may not have intended to bash people on here deliberately, but you certainly came across as having that endeavour. I’m not trying to have a dig at you, and I can appreciate the motivation in others improving, but maybe try a little more tact the next time you’re trying to post something constructive.
Before i show this…
I was scared vs tokido so i didt punish as much as i could(deamon flips)
and after tokido i fought jago right after…I usually do alot better vs him…i got impatient and died ._.
i hope you guys like these…im pretty ashamed of my performance but i promise a tp 8 at ext major with chun I PROMISE >={
Cardel
I love how you tried to U1 on his air fireball, I know it works, I’ve seen it work-- but every damn time I try it doesn’t work, haha.
Lol yeah I regret the hell outa that Try and I regret the ex sbk at the end of r1 vs jego ._.
Well, here goes nothing. Here’s my newbie stuff.
Anyway… If you’ll notice some of the vanilla arcade matches are 60 sec/round. This one makes me mad. As an arcade community, some of us here already argued and vouched for it to be 99/round. It was already that way when tournaments were held last March. Unfortunately, after that, it was changed again. I understand it’s a business/management decision, but it’s a stupid one. So I talked to a friend about it instead:
Those labelled with “trolling” are incomplete vids.
Unfortunately, the cam was running and I had no idea that I had run out of space. After going through a couple of .avi fixes, that was the best footage I could salvage. At any rate it’s to show or log my game progress, and not wins or losses in this case.

Some highlights in the vids.
-OK, I got you now! Let me try a jump-in… oops, wall.
-LOL j.lp. That was supposed to be a kikoken. must have turned into u/f+lp instead of f+lp.
-Dropped U1s here and there. Still times when I activate it too early or too late.
-LOL, vintage Ultra mash when right next to an Ultra-ing Ryu.
Ken was kinda off that day too. He usually doesn’t drop his dp fadc U1’s. But that’s no excuse for those losses.

general self-crits
I can’t throw tech worth shit. It must be my Marvel background (and lack of 3s/other games with two-button escape) talking. Working on it!
I crouch block too much, I’m easy prey to crossups and fast overheads. I need to move around more.
As my mentor noted, I used lp kikoken at the wrong ranges in the earlier vids. I need better spacing in general.
I tend to panic when I fall behind, or when the other guy does a rally and comes back life-wise.
Obviously not a very good mentality to have in a game like SF4.
I’m not well versed with the safe jumps and OS’s yet. Will be working on that later.
I need to learn dem stomps. Target combo to EX SBK feels like a waste to me a lot of the time. Similarly, I need to get to implementing them c. hp to legs stuff in an actual match.
I believe I should have played much better than what’s in the footage too. Some of my better faring matches aren’t on record I know I usually do/can do better. I think I have camera fright . It’s strange, considering I’ve been to 100+ people meets and tourneys and wasn’t that jittery. Oh well. Vids will be a progress log, if nothing else. I play almost daily as I wait on my job applications. I hope I progress.
may i have some japan channels of chun li?
Hm. Searching for Y24 (Japanese Chun player) gives back these accounts, just search for Chun in their respective search bars in the account

For the older stuff you could also search for Nemo, Nuki, or Haneyama
