Chun-li Video/Discussion Thread

Ex-legs don’t result in an untechable knockdown. Your opponent can execute a quick wake-up after it.

As for Honda, I hate the way I have to play this, but essentially play this outside c.lp distance and play defensively. If you try to advance too aggressively, especially when he is charging downback, your life can diminish very quickly if you get hit by 2-3 headbutts. Zone him with kikokens, punish his jump-ins with s.mk or df + lk. Don’t throw kikokens if he is moving towards you. His jump trajectory is unusually quick and low. Keep him out with s.mp or s.hk. If he is using low pokes i.e c.lp os hhs or s.hk, whiff punish. This is the reason for standing outside c.lp range. If he is patient, and using NJ.hp, sweep him on landing, s.mk, s.hp, or s.hk - depending on distance. If you get caught in a sumo splash spam trap, focus his buttslams on the way down.

Lol, ridiculous

DAMN!

If only that shit was possible. Maybe in SF X Tekken? LOL! Already seen the Kikouken juggle bit so who knows right?
I would love to have a god tier broken as hell over powering Chun Li to screw people up with.

Problem is, if you look at the other characters, they seem equally overpowered lol. 100% combos don’t seem unusual in Koryu Edition.

Couple more vids to look at for Chun in AE.

Better get your fei match down boys cause he’s getting a lot of love

----> is there an option select in there at 1:24?

Gonna upload my matches from Stunfest, one of the biggest European tournaments.
I was in team with MOV (the 3rd strike japanese player) playing Ken, and Joe Higaishi with Guile.

Others videos will be updated tomorrow ! All advice are appreciated !

Instant fave on my youtube channel.

Looking really solid! Your patience is crazy but it works for you.
Definately got to Anit-Air those Demon flips on Akuma or Air throw him if you anticipate his jumps. But you pretty much controlled the match for good portions.

Loved your work on Fei-long, good baits and anti-air-- killer finisher too! that was bad ass.

Good fights… good spacing all I’d say is stuff to do with the situational things that happened…

Don’t waste meter on EX SBK after Ryu/shoto overheads cos the risk and meter usage isn’t worth the reward, you’re only going to hit em if they go for a cr.forward xx fireball or sweep which are easy to block (as is another overhead) and you’ll take only minimal chip… However if they do nothing they get a free combo, also after overhead if they jump towards you the cross up will always stuff EX SBK… Again leading to a combo…

I don’t think its worth the risk…

In the corner after blocking cr.forward EX Fireball pressing cr.RH isn’t safe, they recover before it can hit, also in this situation or similar st.fierce is a decent option (again it’s not safe exactly) but its fast has good range does work and is cancel-able into super…

Vs Akuma when he was dizzy you did EX Legs into EX SBK, in the corner with that set up its always going to throw him out of the corner which is pretty bad… you were never going to get a lot of damage from it and you let him out by doing it, if you have to get as much damage as you can in that situation (its Akuma so obviously you are wanting to) do another set of EX Legs cos it leaves him in the corner…

Err yeah that’s pretty much it, nice meter judgement for the end of the fei match

Hope you don’t mind the advice

Very nice Kayane. Honestly the biggest thing that stood out to me was how frequently you used EX Kikoken. Chun needs meter and her super is nasty so I would save it.

then play 3s

I was wondering what was up with the U1 in Broly’s vid, myself. I at least understood the EX SBK, where it punished limbs. The sim could have afforded to do more yoga fires/well-spaced teleports too imo

Agreed with the saving meter thing (because her Super is really good), though EX Kiko has definitely saved me a lot of times.

Thank you everybody for the advice !

Yes I definitely have to save my bars for Super since I often use it too.

I used it because sometimes it surprises and it can touch. Or when the two life jauges are equal, it can make a little difference that gives me advantage and make me able to keep distance instead of approaching.

But sometimes i should avoid to use it because it’s useless yeah.

More videos are coming, I’ll let you know !

Another Team matches : I play at 5min10 but lost to Bison’s player, buh a Bison again…

That was great, actually learned a few things to try out there myself.
First round was nasty-kayane-beast-mode.

Second Round; Only bad part I really saw was when you had bison pinned in the corner you traded him spots by using D/F HK. At that time you guys were pretty even in terms of health. He was able to escape your momentum due to that.
Shame the u2 failed to fire–thats why I use u1-- I’ve failed to hit u2 too many times.

Final Round; I didn’t see anything really wrong–maybe you just tried to pressure too much as I’ve seen in you other videos you always seem really patient and when you backed off you played more comfortable to me. Honestly I think Bison’s u1 was pretty random or just a brillant read hitting your hansanshu but thats how it goes.

Keep on posting!

That was surely random Ultra unfortunately.

Here is another team match :

I won against Fword’s Ibuki but lost to a Gouki’s player. HATE Gouki lol ! If you have advice…there is no many Gouki players in Europe unfortunately.

The only advice against Gouki is learn the c.hp x legs loop because then you will outdamage him and during footsies never press a button before he does, because c.hk beats everything you do.

I have so much trouble with Gouki/Akuma, so please share anything you find that helps.
Out of curiosity, are the Gouki players that you have trouble with ones that try to rush you down or ones that run away? I find the ones that run away to be my worst matchup easily. The only time they really “go in” is when they land a knockdown and start their vortex. Then it’s right back to running out the clock while I struggle to make up the damage difference.

Kayane, I notice that there are a couple of times you used df+HK when your opponent is in the corner, thus putting yourself in the corner. It’s a very brave move that I think some players won’t expect, but generally I think it’s a bad idea.

Well, there is always the unblockable setup.

Its not unblockable in Super…

Really? lol
Never cought on.
