I thought this TACV was fucking awesome. Were we watching the same video?

I mean, really I’m not surprised they landed either, but trading into big combos or headstomping Sagat’s foot is pretty cool. So is 2nd active frame jab into Ultra.

Also the 2nd active frame st.lp into cr.hp was cool too.

Thank you very much :tup::tup:

good shit

I didn’t know Chun could do cr.fierce xx LL(x2), kikoken, cr.fierce xx LL without FADC on Fei… I’m guessing he has to be crouching, wonder who can be looped and kikoken reset without needing to FADC

Seems like Yun’s dive kick can be sweep AA’d. Probably it just means twin dive kicks don’t have Rufus priority. In SSF4, I wanted Chun to have OS Throw Tech + Sweep to beat dive kick pressure. If dive kicks get reduced priority all around or if the perhaps buffed chuns vertical hitbox on sweep (notice how high it hits at 0:06??)… maybe this is an option in AE.

Makes sense right? Why would they nerf Chun’s 7 frame, 90 dmg, focus bait sweep and low damage anti-air into low damage ultra without giving something back, right? Buffed anti-air sweep? hopeful

This may be old I dunno I haven’t seen it posted up yet, but here’s a long vid of arguably Canada’s best player and definitley the best Chun li is Canada. Good execution good footies good everything super on point.

Chi Rithy at West Coast War zone 3

Justin.tv - iplaywinner - BLG Filipino Champ vs Chi-Rithy

why didnt he throw out some standing strongs or crouch jabs to counter poke the fierces from sim. i know fil champ is really good and just about everything else chi did was perfect, im just wondering about those things… also why didnt he just ultra instead of doing ex bird after ex legs when he had him in the corner. i guess ill chalk that up to hindsight 20/20

me playing AE. i need to stop jumping.

Yessssss wake up Ultra!! Haha Your Chun is super strong. <3

YouTube - clannadnagisa01’s Channel I just posted some 2nd active frame sweep combo vids Im going to make one on all the chars that are relatively easy to hit it on. cuz chars like gouken who take perfect spacing and luck i guess just don’t seem worth putting a vid up about.

Some more AE Matches. Any advice would really help me out.

Maybe I’m missing something but I’m not sure why you dash cancel out of your fireball so much; especially against makoto

My rampling responses.

Okay, basic stuff you probably know.
Far mp is not really an anti-air (depressingly I do this too)
U1 is not Makoto’s anti-fireball Ultra, and she cannot punish your fireballs with anything else at full screen.

More generally, it felt like you weren’t applying pressure, makoto has an option for the majority of aggressive options, but no one great option for defense, applying pressure with jabs, throws, frame traps (cl.hk & cr.mk) as well as lk hasan shu (more important than normal, as it beats out EX karakusa) can really put the fear into Makoto, but it felt like whenever your jabs were blocked you backed off, or you were just doing cr.hp->legs on wakeup, which is good damage if it hits, but doesn’t really lead to anything further pressure if it doesn’t. (AdmittedlyI rely on this stuff a bit too much, but it’s still something you want to be able to do)

I did really like your focus attacks, I think they’re a good option in this matchup, although I think I personally overuse them, and I liked your use of cr.mp, especially to beat the axe kick.

Guy owns me for free. My only advice on the matchup (cr.mp or cr.mk as anti-air) you figured out by yourself.

If you’re having trouble with lightning legs into sweep, I’d recomend linking something else after it for now. Going for the hard combos in casuals is all well and good, but if you can’t land it at least 50% of the time in a match (and you were 0 for 3), it’s not helping you learn to land it, since you’re just engraving the wrong way to do it in your muscle memory.

Wow. My vs Makoto Matchs are so random compared to yours, but that is so much more random compared to any Gief fight I’ve had since vanilla.

Anyway, stop jumping in, Gief doesn’t care out your jumpins. He will late crouching Lariat trade into EX green hand your floaty jump all day. I also think you need to feel more comfortable just blocking his mixups sometimes, yes you don’t want to do it all the time, but sometimes it is the best strategy, even against Gief, and especially if he has U2 stocked.

Maybe this is my lack of patience, and playstyle, but I would never sit at full screen as both characters build meter. If you’re on your toes, you should get a bar from blocked hks, hps, and anti-airs before Gief gets in, there’s no reason to stand much out of far hk range, you just don’t have any damage options, and a good gief will just let you walk yourself into the corner. Even if I don’t have a bar for EX SBK, I honestly feel just lk hasan shu, block & backdash are actually fairly solid defensive options in this matchup (in AE at least, in chocolate, it may be an easier matchup due to df.lk being so great, but you really need that EX SBK).

Whiff punish his hks & sweeps with hp, not hk.

I did like your well spaced fireballs, just outside green hand range, I 'd be too worried about being walked into the corner to do that regularly, but it is something I should try and work into my game where appropriate.

This is a pretty face palmy match to watch. Im sure youll agree.
