Chun-li Video/Discussion Thread

i teared up a little bit at the end there. it was a damn good match to watch tho

I think it hurt more watching it. I avenged you, though :).

edit : Oh and Dr.Chaos = nubles and bitz! He lost to mad grease in Ohio…

i loved alpha 2 chun.

Hmm? What’s EASTLA’s deal? I’ve played him many many times online and I can’t figure out for the life of me why he has so many points. I hate that I can pull of sick 1 frame combos consistently and chuns that don’t even tech throws have more points than me, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong sometimes. But I’ve taken critisism in the past from you Magman that may have seemed offensive at the time but it actually improved my gameplay many fold in the long run… so what’s EASTLA got on me?! Damnit all!

He jumps a lot!

i have a solid ground game n with that i can beat ppl that can pull crazy shit from 1 framers to kara armor bullshit… fundamentals are always more important imo

Eastla like to jump alot with j.hp target combo. learn to cr.hk all chuns jump in and you got him. sorta. he like to hazan also. he has consistent hazan to super execution. he’s a rushdown chun =]

I totally agree. And that’s exactly what I’m working on right now… I feel like I’m doing a full circle with learning chun… Started learning the basics, then to understanding footsies and more advanced concepts like option selects then went on to learning more and more challenging combos (which in the end ONLY helped out my rushdown game) and now I’m looking at the basics again, but probably with a different perspective (specifically my defensive game which I think I’ve totally turned around). Not that I have a shitty ground game or anything, I just am always trying to look at what I do in comparison to other people that are “better” than me when in some cases like with EAST I feel that I play better.

Not good. Jumpy chuns piss me off. He must be anti-aired all the time then? Who is he beating?!

He’s beating people with a decent amount of points, but they hardly anti-air him, and that’s probably because:
a) they don’t know how to

or

b) they can’t react fast enough to his jumps

he does have a lot of hazanshus in his game play, for some reasons, everytime I see his replay, his opponent gets hit with it.
anyway, he does a lot of unsafe stuff and gets away with it.

its online and its called lag tactics (?)

It’s hard to play up lag with chun… I’ve fought many many Akumas though that really have mastered the art of lag. lol

heyyy heres some videos of me playing gootecks and mike ross at the recent ai 3v3 tournament… =)

Some good play the first round, and a valuable lesson at the end of the game. You just cannot whiff low attacks against Rufus.

lol. very true mags. that has happened to me way too many times.

It’s a good thing you can os against his blockstring pressure so you don’t have to.

are you refering to df+lk + cr.lp?

Flipkick is airborne right away?
