haha, my thought exactly. Fuck online. All your Hazan shu mix ups get crippled for starters (last time I treid, LK/MK HS, link into low LK, EX legs I ate 4 x Counter hit reversal DP because I tried to compensate for the input lag :annoy: At least I know I was close to hitting it lolol)
Extremely helpful video and good display of skill by both players, worth the watch so I figured I’d post it here.
edit: Wow this is insanity, I can’t even find more matches of Nemo on nicovideo. Anyone know if he has matches on his blog spot? Or even the link to his blog spot?
I use some insanely cheap black-friday Wal-mart camera since my other one broke down. It was like 80$ I think?
It’s a 7.1 Mega pixel, 3x optical zoom Sanyo picture camera. Sorry I don’t see the model name of it on here anywhere, that’s the brand name though lol.
nemos chun is really predictable in this match… maybe he saw that the ryu was all about the rushdown in the first round, so he figured that he didnt have to mixup his offense versus this guy cause this guy wasnt worried about the defense?
how do i upload vid to my computer then onto youtube??? i know its a broad question, but i have a shitload of vids from the arcade that i have no idea how to upload…
Nemo tries to do some funny/risky shit, and pays for it.
Daso then starts to mount a more aggressive offense due to him punishing defense threats. Stun and wins just like that.
(note the f+fierce breaking focus, then he overheads twice because Chun is afraid of other threats, good offensive mind game by Daso).
Second round:
Daso tries to continue aggressive gameplay.
Nemo definitely switches it up to avoid repeating the first round. Pretty much stays close in distance still, but chooses his options more wisely and doesn’t get knocked down. He also just comes out the victor in mix up situations, with dash under anti air and comboing.
Third round:
Both are playing more carefully, but still aggressive. They are just choosing the safer options now.
Nemo lands a combo, then lands another mixup into big damage (for Chun to be making, at least).
Daso is still playing very risky and not blocking much. He uses focus to shield his offense but then ends up paying for it. He tries to fireball and eats a well placed EX kikoken for the lose.
It looks like a casual match but that’s a grandmaster Ryu player. I think that we both know that Ryu player knew his options and how he was fucking up, it just looked like he didn’t care as much. Neither did nemo really. But you knew that, Dime .
i’m talking about the focus absorb forward dash hasan shu pattern that nemo presents to the ryu player… nemo did it everytime he absorbed a fireball, with one exception.
i think i get it now… that one exception was when nemo was testing the ryu player for a counter, but the ryu player still opened himself up to the hasan shu… this probably told nemo that he could spam the tactic from there on out…
its just that at high level jap videos you usually dont see anything such as that predictable pattern which is most definitely NOT SAFE at all.
and i was wondering what nemo saw to know that it would be safe versus this player.
Josh is a noob, so don’t sweat it. (I am playing, I am playing Josh – hahahaha.)
Yeah, but seriously – I can see where you’re coming from. Girl needs to fucking work in this game. Unless you use JWong tactics and wear your opponent down, it’s all reaction with her to stay ahead of the game.
I think for these reasons it’s why I’ve been feeling more comfortable using Blanka more lately over Chun. I still play with her to keep my skills sharp, but shit like you went through there would kind of discourage me greatly.
a series of matches vs a good blanka player (bruce):

please tear apart and criticize. i’m not exactly sure how the priority on blanka’s electricity works, or if i could’ve air throwed him out of ultra in the 3rd match. i feel like i’m slowly getting better from being criticized a lot
Oh man, it’s good to see another player who makes the same mistakes I do
But yeah, that was a pretty aggressive Blanka.
Among other things, I think he got too many crouching slides in … You should avoid throwing Kikoukens at distances he can reach you with that attack.
Also, anytime you df+HK (somersault crossup), you should not always follow it up with an attack even when you connect it, the opponent has enough time to block any followup attack you might throw his way.
I think you let him get away with so many Blanka balls, if I’m not mistaken you can jab/strong him out of it without trading. I’m not exactly good at this matchup but I think I recall seeing that happen somewhere.
I also noticed, you like to follow up your FA crumples with a throw, you can get some more damage in with the target combo or even the SBK combo.
You also threw out some naked Ultras but that’s understandable as you were really out of options in those cases.
Lastly I noticed you never used MK for your jump ins, you only used HK and HP … MK is sometimes good to use as it has better range. Oh and I didn’t see you use crossups.
But then again, I make all these mistakes too, it’s really hard to remember all these things when the pressure is on, good matches though, what was the last song in that video?
yeah i realize i need to use mk and air throw more when it comes to being in the air. i’ve messed around with using st. strong against his non-ex blanka balls and it seems it only works if hes just starting it, since chun has to like “poke” him with it. if he’s already passed that distance then it doesn’t work i don’t think (could be wrong though.) also the ex ones just go through everything apparently except ultra.
so you think cr. fp -> medium sbk would be a better option than throwing on crumple? i can do it pretty reliably, dunno why i didn’t think of it myself. you actually have time to jump in target combo when you crumple someone with an FA? would that mean that i could FA -> dash -> jump straight, target combo, cr. fp -> medium sbk (possibly into ultra if i have it)?
if so…then damn i’m gonna start doing that.
what did you mean by not seeing me use crossups? i’m a little new to the terminology so i assume you don’t mean the actual df+hk crossup (i used that a bit too much in retrospect.)
thanks a lot for the comments, they really help me a lot
Ah, you can’t let online discourage you really. It’s almost my refusal to press things the way they’re meant to be pressed for online that gets me fucked up. I try to do all my offline timings to not be as bad when I go back to tournaments.
Heh, it is a bit agitating when you feel like you should be doing better but are not…but that’s the name of the game online. Can’t take it to heart and just gotta keep going. I’ll never get discouraged or give up on Chun, it’s never her fault  .
When me and Chun work together, she’s playing 100%, only a matter if I am too :bgrin: .
