well last time they gave her more viable moves i didnt think she was as unique (3s) since apparently if you could kara and confirm c.mk you looked good. i know there was a lot more to her than that but she didnt seem unique to me at all. elena on the other hand…
I recorded some of my Xbox Live matches today and upped them to youtube.
Here’s me having a hard time with a Cammy player that was going balls to the wall giveing me a lot of troubel. I tried a bunch of times to air2air the EX hooligan but got beat every time. The match actually end with me finally NOT trying to air2air him :wgrin:

Here’s me vs some Rog player that taught me that I still don’t know how to block that damned overhead… Also tried using wall jump in the corner trying to catch his AA attempt. Didn’t get whiffed headbutt, but it worked out anyway (did c.hp mostly and at the end he actually messed up a headbutt, I’m positive).

There’s some more on the channel. You’ll see a lot of vertical jump HK that I use way too much. Gotta get rid of that habit, or at least limit the range I use it in and number of times I do it.
I have a habit of not respecting Cammy, then occasionally running into things. But you can really zone her well, and focus can be your anti air and mix up after it.
I notice a string you use, c.lk c.lk (c.lk) s.mp a lot. You need to be really careful with that. If a good player sees and knows that string isn’t tight, they will clip the limb with a shoryu FADC or headbutt ultra in Rog’s case.
Your neutral jumping isn’t bad, just don’t do it when Rog is sitting down is all.
As for Cammy, just double tap jab when you see her fly across the screen. Also, against that air cannon strike…just either back dash (or dash under from it) and punish that cannon spike that way. Or if you don’t have time and think you will get hit, focus absorb the strike and back dash to make the cannon spike whiff. I find myself usually trying to footsie and focus Cammy a lot, then they resort to things in the air.
I wonder what that Abel was going to do if he actually got his wheel kick to land anymore (from your other videos). Actually, I saw a video of an Abel vs Zangief which I regretted watching. The Abel won with that exact same tactic Oo.
Please note that I get mega-raped by a good Sagat player, and it may not be worth the watch. You also may be wondering why I can take LI Joe down to the wire, but am fucking up huge in this set.
Well, I really don’t like Chun online anymore, that sealed the deal for me, you can probably see why.
It wasn’t all of PSN’s fault though, I shoulda whored out her st.strong like I tell other people to (LOL @ my brainfarts due to online ownage).
I was doing much better with Ryu, but still lost more overall, so good shit to Josh.
i’m using chun. i never played a serious abel before. as you can see i made some fuck ups and i freaked out and did some random shit. but i need help cause i wanna play more clam and soild.
Heh, yea I saw you doing jump back lp and figured you were just freaking out at his command throws ^^. The jump back was a good idea though, you can’t really just sit and block against Abel… if he gets inside you want to do something or just get the hell away from him. Focus absorb and dash would’ve helped I think, Havoc was really milking that air pressure->throw/tick throw mixup.
Did the cr.mk at 0:41 cause his tiger knee to whiff and avoid blockstun? Its a bit hard to see the spacing at the camera angle. I’ve seen others mention using low normals to lower Chun-Li’s hitbox, but haven’t noticed it in action before.
Lol oh man, I can’t wait for my money match with that Abel.
Anyways you can keep him out with st.roundhouse and st.strong more. His jumps were wayyyy too obvious, he did them at the exact time at the exact spots. Any quick air-to-air beats out Abel for free.
Try short short EX legs more, you did a lot of jab, forward EX legs which IMO let him off the hook a bit easily, minus that one time you hit it.
You can also jump in on him, your roundhouse out prioritizes lots of his anti airs. He WILL have to resort to air-to-airing you with something, so you can jump in air throw and snatch him easy as well.
So if he tries to anti air with roll, you can easily land and throw him out of it.
your matches are pretty good man, we’ll have to play sometime, Cammy can be a problem but Mag hit it on the head just be careful and watch her aerial game. I hate rog and you peaced him out well.
how do i do chun li ex sbk as a wake up? when i try to do it, it whiffs, or i have to wait for 2 seconds and then the ex sbk works. is it cause i have a 360 controller?
Thanks for the tips. I’m going to dive into training mode vs Cammy today or soon. I’m slowly learning matchups one by one. I play some Cammy myself and I never thought EX Hooligan canceled would land so fast. I’ll try to be smarter about neutral jumps, I’m all about getting rid of habits/auto-pilot these days.
Hah, I never really wondered. Was weird that this guy had around 3k BP, which I honestly had a hard time getting. I put the annotation warning there just so people know I’m not in any way ‘proud’ of that match XD There’s another match in there vs. an Akuma that probably warrants the same kind of warning. I never seem to record matches I really want to look back at.
If the connection isn’t too bad then I’d be happy to, but there’s an ocean in between. Balrog actually doesn’t worry me as much as it did when I just got the game, because ever since I started AA’ing with c.hp the mid-range game becomes a lot simpler. This rog seemed to be caught off guard.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, Mags. Your vids were clean, mate. It’s just that moderate to good Sags are goddamn ridiculous, especially online, and you know that. /comfort (no-homo)
Zen, I’m serious. Holding down and back beats hooligan for free. Just watch your hops. I also liked your mix-ups in that rog match.
Zen the netherlands are so dope i went to amsterdam back in 07 when i was still stationed at a base in England, connections in the Europe arent that great, but i do have a guy from London on my list and are matches are pretty solid with no lag
