i don’t even think that headstomp combo works on all characters. i tried it on rose in training mode earlier and my j.hps kept whiffing. i’ll try the other combo though
yeah, i used it to poke when i first started because it was an easy combo, but i stopped after getting punished too much.
Gen has a weird jumping kick where his body is behind you with 1 leg stretched out & 1 leg hanging down that looks like it hits you in the face. How is this properly blocked? I have been trying to block it like a crossup cuz his body is behind me but I think I’m pressing foreward into his hanging down leg. Any info on this?
Anyone know the best way to punish Vega’s backflip thing where he’s invincible for most of it? I can’t seem to figure out when the invincibility stops, and a lot of fights they just spam it one after the other till they’re out of range.
LP Kikoken. Sometimes they back flip right into it. Also if you notice the back flip has a rhythm to it. kinda like 1…2…3. Try grabbing him when he’s all done with that sound he makes
hi guys, im new to these forums and chun li so i have some questions.
in the video thread i saw one of you do ex lightning kick -> ex spinning bird kick. is there any trick? i cant do it.
when should i do double ex lightning kick and when only single? should i always have 1 bar in stock and only do the double if have 3 bars or more? or is double a “waste” of ex and you only do it when you really need the damage?
is there a good way of connecting the ultra except with a focus attack?
is the super combo worth doing? i never used it as balrog.
hold down while you do the EX Legs and then press up KKK to do the EX SBK
If the first EX Legs hits deep then following up with another is a good idea. Otherwise the second will only hit once which is a waste of meter unless you really need the sliver of damage.
Connecting the ultra after a FA dash is nearly impossible for me to do. I wouldnt advise trying it. Ultra after FA without dash works but requires precise timing to get the full ultra off, otherwise it will juggle them away. In a corner this is ok though because she will juggle them and get a lot of hits off. There’s also a lot way to combo into the ultra but it wont do as much damage.
The Super is a very nice reversal weapon. On some characters moves on block you can hit them with a Super reversal and they cant block it. You can also combo into the Super with j fp x 2, back mp, super, or j fp x 2, cr fp , m sbk , super
Try doing the stomp a little earlier. The timing for the initial stomp is fairly lenient; it doesn’t need to be done at the last second. You can do it a little earlier than that and still complete the combo.
For JF.FP x2, Stomp x3, I’ve seen in videos that sometimes after you land you walk forward a bit before jumping for the head stomps, and sometimes you land and just immediately jump. How do you know when you have to walk forward to land the stomps?
Also, is there anything else you can do after JF.FP x2 other than the head stomps?
Edit: Removed my answer, GensouGoroshi answered much more elegantly ^^.
You can block it the same as any other cross-up. The nature of the move makes it quite hard to tell exactly where it will hit though. You can always try walking forward into his jumps when you notice him in crane stance, to make sure he crosses you up and you can block it like any other cross-up.
Bronzefist mentioned in the Strategy & Matchups thread that Chun’s focus attack makes some cross-ups actually land infront, when they are spaced to land behind. I’ve noticed that, when trying to focus absorb->dash away from cross-ups this actually does cause alot of cross-ups you expect to land behind, to land infront. So, with that in mind, you can just release the focus as it absorbs a crossup attempt and they will land infront of you and get crumpled. You would have to make a quick judgement on how deep the crossup is however.
I generally df HK crossup a Claw that abuses the backflip. Bait the flip with the crossup walk into him and throw. Claw is a pretty simple fight when you teach them not to backflip, even easier when they do! Most I have played, online depend on that backflip so much that they leave themselves open for easy mixups.
I noticed this happen to me in a replay I had. I clearly saw this guy space a crossup, and I decided I didn’t feel like getting block stringed, so I focused and dashed forward… I ended up dashing right into the guy and getting cr. jabbed in the face.
btw, you mind if I add you when I turn on my ps3 again? It’d be cool to search your replays and stuff.
Hey I just played a Zangief and he whiffed a lvl 3 focus. I thought this was free damage so I walked in to start a clk clk into ex legs but he already could bust out his ultra. My question is does zangief have barely any recovery after a whiffed focus, or did I completely screw up my timing
