Chun-li Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

No it isn’t.

I’m doing it in training mode right now! Edit: All you need is an infinite super bar.

I don’t think this has been asked but:

  1. In the english voice version, what does she say when you fire off the Ultra just before she launches into the SBK part? Sounds like ____ lift off
  2. What does Hosenka mean? In fact I’m curious about all the names of her moves, I’m guessing they’re all in Japanese?

Exactly… so whats the point? Its like saying OMG Ryu can juggle two Ultras in a row lolz. Well yea thats great but how is that going to happen in a real match?

It’s not. I said it for the lulz. The rest of my post was the for serious part. Ryu being able to juggle two ultras in a row is pretty badass, tho.

FADC b+mk + mk. If you hit, you get to follow through. If they block, you get -2 on block instead, I think? It lets you get super up close and personal with them, at least. Stomp shenanigans, throws, cr. jab > cl. rh xx hasanshu?

Is there any way to punish a blocked Bison/Cammy’s ultra with your own ultra? I’m usually holding downback to block them, but just at the end they are on the other side of your character so your charge disappears. Is there any trick to holding the charge in that situation?

Stand up. :o Even if you wanna start off crouch blocking, just get up and you’ll be alright, for Cammy a least. I dunno about Bison… I think you can only counter Ultra him in the corner. If you crouch block him, you’ll hit him landing. If you standing block, you’ll juggle him. Crouch blocking and doing a reversal not in the corner just makes you go through him though.

How does standing as opposed to being crouched help you retain charge?

Cammy doesn’t cross you up because she doesn’t miss her last strike. For Bison, you just need to time a reversal and you’ll turn around automatically. Has to be in the corner though.

Ok thanks. So against Bison’s ultra, I should input my ultra just as he’s passing through my character? I’d love to see a video of this if possible.

I posted how to punish Dictator’s Ultra in the other thread

Ive done both strats against Dictators online and it works everytime

Thanks!

Thanks, the jump method sounds perfect for my skill level

The point is anything that is Super cancelable is also EX focus cancelable. So you can combo into EX Kikoken then extend the combo into Lv2 Focus Attack into Ultra; or turn something unsafe into something safe, like tossing an EX Kikoken at a distance where your opponent will jump it so you can dash under tripguard into combo; or EX FADC a poke string into Kikoken and pressure or create space. Just a few examples but I think you get the point. Although canceling EX Kikoken into Super is impossible in a real match, EX Focus canceling it is far from impractical.

But we knew that in the first place.

Super cancelable == EX Focus cancelable maybe be a trivial technicality but it’s good to know. Someone asked “what good is EX Kikoken being Super cancelable?” It’s not useful in and of itself, but Super cancelable means EX Focus cancelable which is useful.

you da man SS! still in your debt for bringin’ us those chun frames you did o’ so long ago!

i’d just like to add that not all moves that say super cancelable are actually SUPER cancellable… some can only be ex canceled, which uses SUPER meter… hence why they say “super cancelable”

can someone tell me what the best method to practice zoning is? i’d like to get the timing down for all chun’s anti airs and stuff. i’m just not sure how to set the dummy (like when to time jump in attacks etc) or how to train myself to zone correctly on reaction.

i got a lesson on zoning in the form of ironreaver putting his dick up my ass several times in a row. i have an ice pack on my ass now :frowning:

Kind of vivid details there…

This helped me a bit with zoning in some matches, check it out.

thanks a lot crystal, don’t know how i overlooked that
