So after playing some ranked with Chun, I washed away all the salt I had when playing Cammy or Charlie. Winning this frequently actually feels nice. I’ve won more games with Chun than Cammy and Charlie combined, multiply by however much. By the way, any Sims online? Or Giefs? Vega? All I’m seeing is Ryu, Laura, Nacali, and some Birdie.
I don’t know how she was in previous betas since I wasn’t in them, but I truly enjoy her in this one.
Like if you whiff a standard air grab you continue to carry the momentum of the jump, so a neutral air grab is more difficult to punish if even possible a lot of the time. When Gief whiffs SPD he has a very obvious stall in the air that gives you time to wait for him to come down and punish. He has to make a heavier read with it than a standard air grab which are less risky than IV now since there’s no height restriction on them.
Yeah ideally reacting to something is how you want to use it, but since it does have a heavy recovery if they so miss, it’s still a very ready thing to do if they happen to do it at the wrong spacing. Basically they can only use it safely if you screw up and do something that allows them to do it. Stay in your optimal space and it’ll be more risky for him to try.
LK legs is only negative 6 on block,The only things fast enough to punish heavily would be certain long range supers. At max range the most you’re probably gonna get tagged by against Gief is a light or medium normal that won’t do much damage and won’t combo into anything. If he’s abusing V Skill or charged s.HP from a range it’s worth using to check him. If you’re closer then try to go for TK legs or just spend the meter on EX legs which is only negative 3.
So is there is any good use for the F+HK in neutral ? That move was so good but feel… I don’t wanna say useless but it is almost is at this point. st.MK is much better for low crushing attacks and is much faster. Is it positive on block ? or have any redeeming qualities aside from the fact that you can combo from it in V-trigger ?
So earlier today I was getting matched up with this Nash (not who you might think from the name, just some guy) numerous times and he was going nuts with moonsault pressure. I figured I just had to take it since they’re all plus on block, but then by chance I just happened to press jab during one…
Moonsault is totally a day 1 scrub tactic thing, it’s way too slow to actually use the way people are using it. People are using it like it’s a jaguar kick that’s plus on block, it’s not.
It’s also airborne for quite some time (not sure exactly which frame it starts being airborne but it’s after a few startup frames), so you can potentially blow up a throw with it. It combos into cr. jab on counter hit and into a myriad of other things if it hits in the later active frames. It’s an excellent meaty tool (see my meaty setups posted) and it’s an advancing attack in general that is safe on block, so you can push to gain ground with it. It’s definitely not something you can throw out without worrying much, but smart application can make it very useful.
Here is my experience with and against Necalli as i use him too.
1- Never throw a fireball if he is walking back or holding down-back. His charge will very easily punish this for loads of damage.
2- Chun-Li can out footsie him pretty badly but keep his st.HK in mind. It is a great move for him. I will say its range is about as much as Chun’s F+MP.
3-Know when you can press buttons against him. His st.MK ( The knee ) is a very good as a frame trap so pressing buttons after it is not favorable. Most Necalli players will either do st.MP or cr.MP or one of the stomps after it so be careful.
4- I would suggest using your V-reversal to get him off of you if you don’t want to deal with his pressure.
5- His command throw has bad range and can only be tick into from a cr.lk in normal form. In V-trigger he can also tick into command throw with st.LP or cr.LP. It becomes much more dangerous.
6- Even if he isn’t charging, his super does go through fireball and does go about 3/4 screen distance so don’t throw fireballs from that range.
lol, thanks for the tips,it means almost no fireball against him and if he do corner pressure, use V-reversal to get off?can’t do well when he do corner pressure ><
