So i was practicing in omega mode. Now im wondering a few things.
Does st.mp have enough frame advantage to do st.mp x st.mp?
Can chun li do cr.jab into b.hp?
Does cr.lp into cr.mk work or just st.lp into cr.mk work in SF5?
Does trigger b.hp have a similar timing to omega b.hp where it stops fireballs?
Legs cr.jab into bird kick is really easy. So i’m guessing i wont need to focus too much on my combos like in sf4.
Cr. Lp into B+Hp is something I’m really curious about as well.
In Omega it is kinda weird, it seems like you can only get two jabs and have to hit B+Hp pretty soon or it whiffs oddly.
I also don’t have in my notes if it is special cancelable or not, it’d be nice for a up-close block string to cancel into Kikouken or LLegs on hit for sure.
I actually haven’t messed with SBK - SF4 put so much emphasis on LLegs that I’ve neglected to think about non-EX-SBK
Like as an example it has become so automatic for me to do Cr. Hp xx LLegs in many situations, gotta get out of that box and renew my mind! lol
With a shorter charge time and SBK causing knockdown it may be the better option for punishes.
Ok that’s awesome! The kick in the picture seems to hit at a slightly lower height than the sf4 one but it’s hard to tell. I searched for the kick in the vid but it seems the video cuts out before that kick actually is filmed… Which is super weird. But thanks anyways… This gives some hope to chun… If she has a premier poke especially on the level of sf4 Bison st.hk, then that alone could be the only buff she needs and may well be the reason she seems so vanilla. No one is using that poke yet.
Ok cool, now seeing the st.hk in motion and its animation it does seem to MAYBE have a slight lower angle buff… But maybe not, but it seems that the real tech for this vid from me is that perhaps chuns st.hp might be kinda ridiculous in v trigger.
But it looks like it might be negative on block outside v trigger according to its slow animation, but in v trigger with v triggers more advantage on block, that move may be kinda dumb plus it will hit for crazy poke damage.
So… Using all sorts of this begets this logic… Chun in v trigger may be a character that people naturally run away from.
And also, thinking a bit again, in v trigger, chuns v skill might be a lot better what with chun having more advantage on air attacks. So perhaps v trigger skill jump attack may be much more buff.
And moving on, v trigger may allow easier conforms into ex legs.
V-trigger Chun looks very interesting no doubts.
You’re more than likely correct too, like Juri’s FSE, most players run away once it activated.
So we’ll need to find good traps to lock the opponent down and easy ways to activate which puts the opponent into a bad situation and likely to doing some panic related.
Advice I give a lot of new Juri players regarding FSE is not to necessarily active and go in guns a blazing. I’ll take the same approach here with Chun. Basically play it almost as if it isn’t even activated and damage will come from well executed moments. Told a friend this already, don’t let activating V-trigger change your play style. Keep being you, haha. Sounds dumb but pretty legit. V-Trigger is a tool, not a lets go HAM-mode
The winner stays line that Poongko is wrecking in takes a while. The other lines are one and done and usually only about 10 minute wait to play again.
Just letting you guys know im at the booth now. Just wearing regular clothes since my suit got messed up.
In any event, I messed with Chuns f+hk and it seems really slow start up. Like maybe twice the start up of 3rd Strike. Im assuming it hops over lows but hard to test.
Was using neutral jHK to anti air/air to air until I mess with the other normals. Works the same as 3S/SFIV
Her sMP I was getting comfortable with for poking. Seems it can’t be crouched but had trouble linking anything off of it. Gonna keep trying and see if I can link c.mk off it.
Landed the V Reversal though yeah, it did seem kinda slow.
Takes a long to to attack after using her V Skill jump. Definitely going to be rather set up heavy. Gonna test out tiger knee air legs next match
Played a match vs Poongko’s Ryu. He used to use him in IV so seemed comfortable with him. Was using good frame traps with c.mp and had a couple combos he was regularly using. J.hk, c.LPx3 tatsu and s.MPx2, s.HP, s.HK which I believe knocked down.
Combofiend confirmed that you can link c.mk after f+MP I guess I just have to be close enough and time it right.
V trigger stuff is fun. Makes her senen shuu overhead more potent as you can link into anything afterwards and start combos. Still having trouble finding a neutral use for v skill or air legs because of slow start ups, but ill work on it.
Not too much more info atm. Only got to play 4 games with her at Evo. Those lines were pretty bad ass.
From what I tested only her cancelable normals can be v triggered. I think only Charlie has a V trigger cancelable special
V trigger was purposely designed to only work for the most part with attacks that have natural cancel properties. Not really meant to be like an RC or FADC that cancels moves that are non cancelable
Not her V Trigger. But her V Skill. I’ve seen clips of her doing it into head stomps and finishing with aerial EX legs. I was just wondering if you could do something akin to cr.MK xx V Skill > Head Stomps > EX Legs
