So now you just do st.LP in its place. I don’t get this, why add an arbitrary execution barrier that doesn’t serve much purpose really. Looks like such a pointless change to me. I am practining it now and it is not that bad but just seem like changing things for the sake of changing.
On the other hand, i saw cr.lp comboing in the recent combo videos in VT, so what is going on overthere ?
Okay, so it looks like cr. LP connects after cr. HP xx L legs both in and outside VT. You can only link into cr. LP from point blank st. LP and cr. HP.
I sill feel the same after seeing that video for air leg combos. The damage loss is huge and the risk too great imo to justify such meager rewards. But if that’s what we have to work with so be it. The new V-Trigger combos look swag, but again far too much effort for such poor returns.
I am also seeing that st.LK looks to have shorter horizontal range as well. Perhaps it won’t be able to punish things from max range like it used to. Did they atleast improve B.HK in any way ? What are the frames on B.HK ?
There is no way st.LK will be able to beat stupid jump in from characters like Necalli and Nash anymore…sigh.
I’m fine with the s.lk nerf in terms of anti airing We still have enough options between air throw, b.hk and jumping mp x air legs. The increase in frames really is gonna suck though in terms of punishes.
They raped Chun. Those combos are garbage at best. Damage on all those combos were worthless and PLUS you needed V-Trigger to do half of them. Lmao!
Not to mention air legs is pretty much useless now with the slower start up and negative on block. So, all these so called air legs combos are useless anyways. Why risk doing air legs just to get very little damage in return? Chun is pretty much dead. I hate all the new combos. They made her even more boring. All we will see now is a bunch of cr.lks into legs into v-trigger, back into legs rinse and repeat. ZZZZZZZZZZ I’m sleep… Time to switch mains.
Oh and without V-Trigger Season 2 Chun becomes worst charc in the game.
I know it’s bad. Her ground game has gotten worse but don’t really know yet if it’s so bad that she really needed to keep s lk as it was. She really didn’t need to control the air as much as she did in S1. We’ll see now if her ground game is still strong enough to justify the nerf, and if it is, it seems like a fair enough trade.
Worst character? Let’s not get too dramatic. But yeah, to me anyway, air legs is worthless now. I’d be ok with it’s new negative status if the reward was greater, but I’m not risking getting blown up for a shitty 180 damage or so. It’s only use now imo is to blow up throw attempts.
Who is now worst than season 2 Chun? Gief got buffs, Fang got buffs, Ibuki got buffs, Laura got buffs.
I guess you could say Mika, but Mika still does better damage compared to Chun.
Chun without V-Trigger is bottom tier now. Is she the worst? Debatable, but all these cr.lk into legs low damage combos are crap with no damage.
Not to mention, if you make one mistake with Chun you’re dead vs most of the cast. Capcom didn’t balance Chun. They raped her.
One can argue Mika got raped harder, but as I said she still does way more damage than Chun without V-Trigger.
Season 2 Chun without V-Trigger, in my opinion, is arguably worst charc in the game. Once she has V-Trigger she moves up a little but not much and you’re still going to need meter to do any sort of damage.
You are making me look like a sane person compared to you. I main Chun AND Mika.
I am basically getting gang banged with these changes as we speak but Chun isn’t nearly close to being the worst in the game dude. Not even close.
IALL will be a move to use sparingly as a throw bait and to mix between it and a jumping medium kick or something. The dive kick like nerfs were across the board, it isn’t a Chun specific nerf. The same can be said for Cammy and Ken and they have to EX to do their good versions of divekicks.
I would also like to remind everyone that damage was nerfed across the board. It isn’t a Chun specific thing again.
Try looking at the big picture. Getting a 300+ stun is also not something to neglect on these combos. Also since you are -2 after it, an EX SBK mixup on block to steal turn like Rashid is a possibility now.
