Uhm. No it doesn’t?
I guess I should have checked my facts, apparently it doesn’t. My bad, not sure where I came up with that.
It knockdown backdash at certain points during the backdash… Is that what you’ve seen maybe?
that’s right hasanshu does a techable knockdown on airborn opponents so if they’re backdashing they’re airborn for a slight moment.
That’s probably why I thought that. I think there might be characters with moves that make them airborn, and I’ve hit those with Hazanshu for a knowckdown too, which might have led to the misconception I had. I was certain I had seen a non-ex hazanshu cause knockdown though.
mk hazan on wake up against chun and she tries to backdash, she will get knocked down.
I guess this belongs here more than in the general discussion thread.
EX legs into Ultra1, AE, current results.

Vega-I did it three times, got three different outcomes, whiff, punishable, and cinematic. Requires further testing.
At least, this is what I remember.

Only really Blanka, Ibuki & Hakan left who really need to be tested.
What’s the difference between the punishable and not in terms of positioning/hits/whatever?
Someone correct me if I’m wrong here:
Cinematic - Full Ultra
InGame-Punishable - Opponent gets hit by the launcher, but falls out out of the upwards spinning kicks, giving them time to recover and punish
InGame-Safe - Launcher whiffs, Chun able to recover before opponent gets up.
Oh, sorry.
Cinematic means the launcher hits, and it looks the same as Vanilla/Super Console version.
Whiffs means it works like it does against Viper in Vanilla/Super, where the launcher just misses. Does very little damage, but is completely safe.
InGame-Punishable means it works like that rose video we’ve seen, where the launcher hits, but it doesn’t go into cinematic mode, then it hits twice, before Rose drops out, falls down, gets back up, and has time to taunt, then punish.
InGame-Safe means that the launcher hits, it doesn’t go into cinematic mode, but the majority of the hits still hit, and last hit hits. Both characters fall at similar speeds, and Chun recovers before the opponent. It works similar to cinematic, but it looks different, and while I haven’t really tested it, to me it seems to do less damage, and give you less time for Oki.
So. What is everyone’s method of doing l.hazanshu, c.shortxxxexlegs. I’m having trouble doing it consistently, right now my method is just to double tap short after the hazanshu and mash on all three kicks. IDK if anyoen else is having this problem, but for me, it only works effectively on certain characters. Other chars (such as Guile and Rog) I’m having a harder time landing the combo. My main problem is cancelling (or is it linking?) the exlegs after one c.short. Sometimes I get c.short x2 which by the second c.short they are out of range. Sometimes, I’ll get the c.short and the exlegs won’t cancel/link fast enough. So the comp. ends up blocking the legs. Tips?
Hello my Chun mates… This is the first time I post in here but I’ve been following for a while. I apologize in advance because this will be a long post. I was wondering if I had to make a new post for this, but it all goes under the “combos” anyway so I decided to post it here.
I have been testing a few things in training mode after looking at the combo thread and the discussion thread… so I thought I will share.
First, for the longest time ever I’ve been using c.HP -> MK SBK after focus crumple… as I thought it’s the most reliable combo (Still think its the most reliable… still not sure what to use though…)
Anyway, someone mentioned earlier that the most damaging meterless combo for chun after focus crumple was this: (With a video posted)
Lv. 3 Focus (Has to be lv3) => Neutral Jump TC (HPx2) => Headstomps.
This combo doesn’t work on the entire cast sadly. Some characters will get hit with both hits of the target combo, some will get hit with only one. It can also whiff completely on some characters. I haven’t found any full list, so I tested it myself:
Both hits of TC => Stomps (340 damage, 530 Stun)
1 Hit from TC (284 damage, 410 stun)
TC whiff completely
Another combo I thought of testing out of curiosity was S.HK => HK SBK… I found out if it connects, it gives the highest meterless damage combo. I haven’t seen this mentioned before so I’m sorry if I’m repeating someone else. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t connect full on most of the cast
When it connects:
10 hit combo (With Lv.3 Focus attack) 368 damage, 528 Stun
Full damage (10 hit combo) on:
9 hit combo(347 damage) on:
8 hit combo(326 damage) on:
7 hit combo (305 damage) on:
A few hits of the HK SBK connects, but then its blocked and can be punished by:
Doesn’t combo on (only 1 hit from the HK SBK connects, then its blocked):
The last thing I tested was the combo we all use
c.LK(or LP) c.LP s.LP s.HP
I wanted to see which chars can take 3 s.LP before the s.HP, which take 2, and which only take a single hit.
This is the list here:
c.LK c.LP s.LP s.LP s.LP s.HP
c.LK c.LP s.LP s.LP s.HP
c.LK c.LP s.LP s.HP
Sorry for this long post! But I had a lot to share. I hope it could benefit anyone who reads it!
Actually, most people do cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lp, fr.hp as far as I can tell, since cr.lp does 10 more damage than fr.lp.
Hi to everybody… I ask how can I p-link hard punch in this combo
C.LK -> C.LP -> SC.LP -> S.LP -> S.FP
hp~mp when you get to hp well thats how i do it but it works if you plink any weaker move
In the corner…
cr.HP xx HK Legs MK Legs > cr.HP xx HK Legs MK Legs > cr.HP xx EX Kikoken xx Lv2 Focus Attack [Crumple] > Forward Dash Cancel > df+LK [Delayed, acts as a launcher] > Forward Dash > EX Legs > Ultra 1
cr.HP xx HK Legs MK Legs > cr.HP xx HK Legs MK Legs > cr.HP xx EX Kikoken xx Lv2 Focus Attack [Crumple] > Back Dash Cancel > Forward Jump d+MK > j.HP > [Land] Ultra 2
b+MK, MK > Instant Headstomp x3
SO. MUCH. STYLE.
after HZS try doing db+lp+lk( c.short )>>>hk,mk,lk,lk+mk( ex.legs )
try practicing clk,hk,mk,lk,lk+mk this gives u c.short xx ex.legs
very easy moves
Also, regarding the talk about the most damaging meterless combo… I believe (but haven’t tested to make sure) that cr.HP xx Legs (x2) is the most damaging.

I cannot figure out the piano input he’s doing, getting two consecutive LP’s. Any ideas?
its what it looks like. he’s essentially doing hp~mk~lk, lk~mk~hk
