k well i did some work with plinking the jab jab fierce link and it seemed to help my execution quite a bit.
cr.fp>legs loop is still a bit easier for me hitting it raw, tho i do get sweep about 30% of the time.
According to what Skatan’s stated: piano is best – but I’ve had success using the slide method. The trick is getting the cr. fp input in the final frames of mk legs. You also want to ensure you’re getting the full 9 hits to get the maximum stun needed to connect the attack. Each time I’ve input more than 3/4 inputs for MK, I’ve been unable to connect FP. Don’t mash. Get to learn the timing and it will become easier over time.
(For now, I’ve decided just to settle on connecting cr. jab into ex legs, followed by U2 as a finisher or cr. rh when I don’t have meter).
the first one sounds very viable but at that range couldn’t you also do c.lk x cs.hk x legs sweep ?
cl.hk has more pushback than cl.mp so on plenty of characters that won’t combo.
plus cr.hp moves you forward. In regards to the plinking of hp + hk. If you look at your inputs two hps come out I`m not sure if that means that the system will register it or not but this only works if you crouching. If your standing a taunt will come out :S
But I was talking about close strong not crouching fierce
Whoops. I see that now. My bad.
Onto a different line of thinking I have been practicing the slide method of the sako loop (cr.hp xx hk.ll…) while still plinking the first inputs and I think i’m going to stick with skatans plink of cr.hp + cr.mk over cr.hk for two reasons.
-as skatan said if you mash the plink and input both hk + hp at the same time you do a meaty sweep because of the hk’s input priority.
-It’s easier to do seems more fluid. So my inputs would be plink cr.hp + cr.mk slide to lk then start a new slide from lk ~ mk ~ hk > mk mk mk.
Did anyone end up answering this? Im unsure about those two myself.
CS is close ex. chun’s close roundhouse is that quick knee the chest
That didn’t really make any sense to me.
facepalm
What, does Wave of babies sentence make sense and I’m not seeing it?
If so would you mind elaborating?
add a comma after close
He left out an important part. CS = Close Standing. So its a move you execute when next to opponent and while you are standing (as opposed to crouching)
Oh ok, getting it now, thanks for the help.
There is no difference between crouching close and crouching far in terms of what will come out. CS and cl are interchagable but cr is cr.
Your going to get a lot of facepalms unless you ask simple questions in the newbie dojo.
anyone have any tips for hitting dash U1 from the 2p side?
It’s honestly just muscle / twitch memory. if you practice it enough (in my case alot) it will come out when your brain tells you to do it. Sorry no shortcuts that I know of.
If there’s one thing that I hate about Dash Ultras, is getting an accidental EX Hazanshu because of the d/f to b shortcut for half-circles.
Just make sure you lay off that d/f input when doing a dash ultra, that’s probably my biggest and only tip other than just practice.
What helped me is knowing how slow is as slow as possible and still do dash ultra. Doing it fast, you need to be sure you are not making a mistake. Doing it slow, you need to make sure you are doing it fast enough. Finding the balance helps with consistency.
A trick for getting the feel of the timing is to see how far Chun can walk before she loses charge for her ultra. Notice the tiles in training mode, and count how many tiles she can move forward before you input <- -> KKK. It helped me feel more confident in how much time I actually had to actually do it (or maybe breaking it down helped me to think clearly in that specific time frame).
