Chun-Li Combos and Glitches

Rh SBK has a huge startup(22 frames). I don’t know of anything that combos into it.

Combos that lead to Hasanshu? Not many, because once again, the frame startup is too big(light HSU is 23).

There are strings that lead to Hasanshu, but they certainly aren’t combos. The only combo with a hasanshu in it would need it at the beginning of said combo.

I had been just using Chun because she is fun to play and one day I woke up and realized that I had become better with her than my other mains…lol…

I still don’t bust out too many complicated combos with her, which is an area I need to improve.

I am going to cautiously say that J.fpx2 -> cr.fpx1 xx MK SBK is her most damaging meterless combo.

Of the times I’ve seen a top level Chun dizzy an opponent, that’s the combo they used. You’re also +2 after it hits, so either mash some jab/shorts into ex legs or throw.

  • Ultra
  • Super
  • j.hp*2 > cr.hp or cl.hk > mk.SBK > Super (optional)
  • If you are mid stage to 1/4 stage from stage wall: Tenshyo Kyaku > Ultra
  • If you are EXACTLY 2 or 3 tiles from the stage wall: j.hp*2 > cl.hk > Ex Legs > Ex Legs > Ex SBK > Ultra. With full Ultra it lands about 700 damage on an opponent with full health

MK or HK, I dont think LK gives enough hit stun to link that

No combos but strings. Nemo String for one… its just so sex but I still havent got it down completely. I believe its something like cr.lp / lk *2 > close st.HK > lk.HSU > cr.lk > Ex Legs

As I stated on the last page, if the close HK counterhits, the MK/LK hasan shu that follows does combo.

Yes, Its quite sex. Chun is one of those characters where you need to get used to holding a d/b charge while jumping forward. Hopefully you picked that habit up as you played Guile

Also, if you connect j.hp*2 in the air and ar atleast 1/3 of the stage from the wall, you can juggle into the Ultra. For the Super you can add a close st.hk for extra damage but Im not sure how that affects the scaling.

It doesnt have everything, but it has a few useful ones.

Oh and yeah, I have always preferred charge characters, so keeping a DB charge at almost all times is second nature to me.

Just to add, cuz it wasn’t mentioned – Nemo’s string is a counterhit setup. Cr. jab > cl. hk xx mk hsu works best when the opponent blocks the jab and tries to crouch tech a possible tic throw. The cl. hk will counterhit any normal that might have been mashed out and give enough hitstun to combo into mk hasanshu.

Cr. lk > cr. lp > cr. fierce xx lk hsu. Counterhit cr. fierce will combo into light hsu… it’s much looser than the cl. hk version, but it works great against Balrog (cuz the best his jab will do is trade, and you have the edge timing your link vs. his mashing) and generally messes with charge char timing.

I’ve been lurking here for a while mainly in the Cammy forums. I recently got myself a stick the other day and have found myself playing alot of Chun-li which I could never do on a pad.

I’ve done all of her normal trials but her second hard trial has me stuck. I’ve managed to go into the second CMK once and get it to hit, other than that I just seem to keep missing.

Is there some kind of knack to it?

Hi guys, I don’t know if this is new or not but but Chun does have some 700+ damage combos that I recorded and posted on the tubes [media=youtube]rVLDpt9yZ7U[/media]. It’s pretty simple, neutral jp.fp -> cl.rh -> ex sbk -> ex sbk -> ultra in the corner or about a tile out. It’s good for 708 damage, 950 stun, and it stuns most characters. 950 or less and you don’t need her ultra. Just figured I’d share this with you guys. Again my apologizes if this isn’t new.

Never thought of multiple Ex SBK. It seems as though spacing isnt as much of a factor as the other 700 damage combo

Deng, I never thought to juggle two ex sbks before. That’s pretty beastly damage/stun.

I believe as long as her foot is able to hit you’ll get the full second ex sbk. It also has to be really late, like almost on the floor otherwise you wont get the full sbk and high spin launch foward.

J. short > cr. jab > cl. mp xx mk sbk. Good, meterless, hit-confirmable damage from a lk cross-up. Could be a good tool vs Mr. Ed.
