Actually, this commonly thought to be a completely mis-attributed quote, and more an example of the self righteous mob getting themselves worked up into a frenzy resulting in (condoning) violence- as you are doing right now.
Which isn’t to say that France would have been better off if the French Revolution never happened, or that there isn’t [legendary] corruption in the LAPD. But I’d wager that these things were/are reformed in spite of cynicism, and not with the endorsement of it. That sort of self-righteousness allows people rubber stamp mob mentality or obvious mental illness by projecting quasi-rational ideological reasons onto killers.

Unfortunately, this is semi-common since police have to prioritize calls, which causes delays. Were you being attacked as you called emergency services or was it after the fact? The difference between the two situations lead to different response times; not unreasonable if you weren’t seriously injured. I’m not downplaying what happened to you, but rather can only make assumptions since you did not go into details.
I was involved in a double rear ending while I was at a stop light (girl behind me got hit, who ended up hitting me). The girl that hit the girl behind me didn’t give either of us any information other than her license number and just kind of took off. We reported it to the police as a hit and run, and the police were on their way to get a report from us. Unfortunately, a weapons report came in and the officers that were en route to us were forced to deal with that since we were low priority (no one was hurt). Since my car was fine, the non-emergency operator just told me to leave a note to the girl that got rear ended and the officers would take it into the account when they talk to her. Turns out the girl that caused the accident had a suspended license at the moment and wasn’t supposed to be driving. I even had to go meet up with a cop and ID her.
But yeah, not saying the LAPD exactly run on time either.
Let imagine 6 drunk dudes high on something decide to beat the crap out of you while you are taking a walk outside. One of them punch you, another joins in by pulling out a knife. You decide to dial 911. The police never arrive. It takes 22 minutes on average for cops to get to you. That’s on average. I called them once in a life threatening situation, took them 60 minutes. I obviously had to do everything myself, without a taser or a gun.
We call the police because they got guns. Guess what? You can still get a gun. Don’t outsource your expectations to policemen that don’t give a damn about you. But hey, to his own. If you want to rely on policemen as your crutch for survival, be my guest.

This is true. One of my friends is the son of an oil executive, anytime we went to a bar I had to drive his car home (he drives a benz and is black) otherwise, his ass would get pulled over the second he pulled out of the parking lot.

Again i think most of these “fuck da police” people have never got in trouble with the law, and go by negative reports. Or they got caught doing something illegal. Or are mostly just idiots who believe in anarchy as a method of rule lol.

I’ve had mixed results with cops. Most of the ones that I’ve dealt with in MD have been cool, but the ones in SC were straight up assholes.
