I was mostly referring to exposing the corruption(if it exists), which benefits everyone. Simply proving his thoughts right doesn’t make his actions right. As much as he talked about them ‘taking his name’, his honor is ruined regardless by the slaying of innocents moderately unrelated to the situation he’s in(ignoring the deaths of cops who may not have been part of the LAPD, I haven’t read anything focusing on the victims specifically or even a name drop. Still, up and shooting people uninvolved with his issues regardless of profession is the perfect indicator of shittyness.).
3/5 of my personal experiences with actual police officers(belonging to a city/town or state troopers) were unpleasant. The two that were decent probably would have been fun to hang out with though(if I liked to drink).
A few years ago, I had a nice old white Toyota Camry that I had bought from my neighbor’s boyfriend. I head to my boy’s house in Riverside and chill. Coming home at around 10 that night (on University), cops start chasing my ass, and make me pull over. Young pricks, one mexican, and one white, looking like something out of American History X. The mexican cop held my hands behind my back and went through my pockets, while the other popped the trunk talking about “WHERE’S THE DRUGS?!” They threw my shit on the grass and tried to say the car was stolen (even though I had my papers), I had drugs, etc. This went on for about 20 minutes, then the white cop’s like, “Can we take him in?” Mex is like, “Naw, we gotta go. (Lets me go then turns to me) We’ll be coming for the car on Monday.” Just left my shit on the ground, hopped in the car, and boned out. I get my shit and start to head home, and not two minutes (about three lights down the way) later, ANOTHER cop pulls me over. He comes to my window, flashes the light, sees me, and yells to his partner “Never mind, he’s sober!” I hopped on the freeway right after that. Shit was cray-cray [/Gravity Falls]
Most of the people that say police were nice to them are white. This sums up the reason why many whites can’t understand why minorities are so quick to throw cops under the bus. Different worlds man.

I think the funniest part is that people hate the police, but the moment something bad happens to them that is beyond their control, they will call for the cops or ask “Where the fuck were the police?!”.

In the city of Torrance (!) I left a hotel and was surrounded by LAPD (!) guns drawn, because my mom’s used car she bought from a dealer was reported as stolen in their system. Not salty about it even though I was this close to getting picked off, but it’s not the police’s job to be nice guys, so hell no I never met a nice cop, what a stupid ass question.
Bad cops are everywhere, I’ve met quit a few that were, or were in training, and they are all scum that seemed like they were bullied when they were younger. Maybe a couple honest ones, but that’s like separating corn from poop. As for innocent people that got killed, remember there were victims on both sides to this shit.

even then, LAPD aren’t exactly known to show up to calls in a timely manner.
in my own experience I called the police to respond to some guys who attacked me and they arrived long after there was anything to be done. not LAPD, but still they might as well have not even shown up.
I concede that your earlier point about it just being a vocal minority could likely be the case. I can only go on anecdotes cause I don’t really know of any survey of socal’s general opinion of police, or LAPD. I’d def be interested to see.
