I read fucked up stories from China about every other day. Tragedies like this and the other hit and run are needles in a haystack. I can fill the Disgusting News thread with horror stories from Asia (but it’s 90% from China) if you guys want.

These people have shitty lives with nothing to show. Work in giant sweatshops where any asshole with power shits on you because he needs to get off a bit because of his shit life. Of course these people aren’t going to have any regard or thought of human life because they are surrounded by pain and suffering everyday. Like the Indians in ancient times where life was nothing but punishment. You really think any of you would have positive thoughts about human life if you grew up in a situatuion like theres? This incident isnt as bad as the one with the little girl, at least this guy stopped, called 911, offered compensation, and the villagers actually gave a damn. Now whether the guy backed up and made sure the boy was dead has yet to be proven and could be spunned up by western media.
But the real problem is the laws around health care and hosptial fees, and the social and wealth status of china. In china, there has been numerous cases where honest citizen were duped in paying indefinite hospital fees for incidents not as extreme as these. Cant really blame the general chinese public for being cautious about these situations. Even the mother of the little girl didnt blame any of the ppl that didnt help her daughter (not that it makes me feel better). Its just that ppl in China accept their social behaviour. This seriously needs to change.

There’s a Chinese shop in Peckham (where the London riots occured) that sells porn dvd’s on the bottom shelf right next to the newspapers and comics. Its instantly visible the moment you open the door to walk in, lol… and there’s large sign on the front door that says, “dont touch anything unless you buy”. If you dont buy anything within the first 10seconds of entering the shop they’ll tell you to “hurry up or go somewhere else”.

Anyway, China, what’s new? And these are just the cases that make it to the news. There’s probably 100+ occurrences of this kind in the past 6 months, that we’ll never know about.
Just wondering if the Chinese were starting to get a little crazy is all. I hope not with all the nuts we already have on the planet.

Sad story and all, but don’t you think it’s a little ridiculous to shit on an entire country because of two stories?
I mean, I’m not saying the generalization is necessary wrong, but it’s not right to base it off of two stories coming out of a country with over a billion people in it. This kind of shit happens in the US all the fucking time for Christs sake. I remember watching a video a few years ago from the US a person getting hit by a car in busy traffic and no one did shit for like 10 minutes. Same thing, except with a far busier street and during broad day light.

There are hundreds of isolated rural ethnic groups in China that are incredibly poor, survive solely on meager subsistence and when people visit there the first thing they do is greet you, feed you with what little they have, and offer you shelter.
The problem is China’s social infrastructure and the communist government responsible for its design- it lends the idea of dog-eat-dog and other antisocial mentalities. As a person from a modest 3rd world upbringing, I can tell you that most poor people are far more generous than most denizens of developed countries.
So poverty is no excuse.
