another easy way is to use firefox and download the ChatZilla add-on.
once d/l’ed and installed do the following:
open firefox
open chatzilla
click on the word efnet
type “/join #srkchicago” (without the quotes of course)
it’ll prolly ask you to choose a handle or whatever too before that.
also, lol at people getting upset over being called out for spamming. i remember when i mentioned the same thing months ago people were like, ‘whats your problem? are you against having an active community?’ obviously thats not the case. i rarely point out join dates, but in this case… 09’ers are going to know less about how, what, and why this forum and these threads work than people that have been here longer.
and if youre looking for off-topic, then thats general discussion… where they talk about non-fg related stuffz.
the thread name and most of the thread names in general are/were the result of things, not the cause. for example, a thread called ‘chicago: we talk about shoes’ is not encouragement to talk about shoes, its poking fun at orka talking about shoes all the time.

People, ggs last night at GW. We stayed til close (12am). So, next Wed if people want to randomly show up anytime during the night, I’m guessing there will be people there. Glad to see Wed night at GW is still ALIVE!

Edit: Actually, I think people are not so much as upset as it is kinda sad that this thread is no longer carte blanche. I think just in the short 6-8 weeks or so, some of us had gotten use to the type of discussions (random or not) here that it’s just sad to have to discontinue some of them. As for me on response to Cracka J’s thread, I was merely pointing out what I thought was going on, it was not a complaint or me being upset or anything. As a matter of fact, there’s no need to be upset if anyone is. It is a general public thread, some guidelines to our posts is not inappropriate at all. We’re here to maintain a Chicago scene, not just for our daily browsing pleasure, so, I completely understand. (blah, this edit had gotten so long… random babble…)

Yo Guys It seems each month at chicago yall have tourneys but i seem to go at the wrong time each month do yall have any arcades with sf4 and do yall think yall gona have a tourney in december i mite be to weeks over there wi sum friends
We’ve got one location with the arcade version of the game, and that’s at the GameWorks in Schaumburg. Thursday nights are the big nights there, although Wednesday has a dedicated group as well.
As for any tournaments in December, the only one I’m aware of is Frosty Faustings, which is still being planned out.
Haha. Boris, I think it’s just on my Vega vs your Blanka. Just have to slowly figure out your Blanka weakness and prey on it, but then again, it’s your style of Blanka, probably won’t work as well with some other Blankas.
Also, I was surprised to beat tranceaddict’s Zangief, but I think that’s because he doesn’t know the match-up well, unlike Aki, who close to perfecting me on both rounds last week!! Darn you… haha…
I’m not switching the main, I’d never abandon my sexy Vega!! Just want to learn another character to change things up (when I get my ps3 slim) and to beat Eric’s balrog… hehe

I was telling Carl yesterday, I tried learning Abel a few days ago, and that resulted in a massive failure. I’d like to learn someone new as well, since I simply can’t seem to figure out Ryu, or any of the shotos for that matter, in SF4.
GGs at Jerry’s last night even though I’m horible at GG and my 3s skills are scratching the surface of scrub. Good ole getting into FG’s late. I just ordered Accent Core so at least I’ll have the newest version to mess around with.

Once I get my game back to what it was, i’d love to pit my Jam against you. I’ve forgotten how to play that game, 6 months of inactivity will do that to you though.
