I keep reading about KOF XIII on this forum it’s making me curious. Anyone know if Ash is any good, oddly enough he is one of my favorites.

Ash is pretty dope in KOF 13.
I can understand the whole “every hit counts” mentality more when you have to wait before playing again, and how that gets you hype for getting better, but having 10 people there on 1-2 setups seems like it’s a whole lot of boredom for the people who aren’t playing, imo. If I travel all the way out somewhere, I don’t want to wait, especially if it’s a local thing. Obviously at a big tourney there’s a whole lot less setups than players, but when I just play locally, I’d rather have a lot of setups and play a lot and make it worth the time spent.
I guess it’s just different perspectives. Either that, or my lack of patience just makes me go “oh crap, there’s a line, I guess I’ll go play something else”.

Actually, a lot of shit happening this weekend. XIII Friday night. GGA and Tracks Tavern Saturday. And GW Sunday.
My arcade stick showed up… I’m officialy learning execution all over again (not like it was great before). It’s slow going but fun.
I intend to start coming out to level up and learn from you guys. Is there a “regular” schedule (IE: Mondays = XXX N. St @ 1900 - 2300, etc)? Or do things develop on the fly? I work in Chicago and live in Joliet (not rare I’m sure) and I need to know when to throw my stick in a bag and bring it with (along with some extra sleep deprivation).
Just keep tabs on this thread. Gatherings are pretty sporadic. AreaXIII is the only regular gathering every Tuesday. Nives and Bombchivo are working on securing Ignite Networks for a regular meetup spot in the city.
Go to AreaXIII this Friday night. Tournaments and lots of casuals.
AREAXIII will be open this Friday starting at 6:30pm Tournaments start 8pm with MvC3 and MK, SSF4:AE will start at 10pm.

I live in Joliet too, there’s a few other people I know in Bolingbrook that have fight nights every so often usually Saturday or Sunday nights. Other then that how do you like having to drive 25+ miles to events >.>?

Ignite network got back to me, they are providing us with 5-6 Monitors as of right now, and we also need speakers for the monitors:
So we will need, Consoles, Speakers, Power strips, and hdmi cord
It will be $10 per person and setup will start at 6 pm, the gathering officially start at 7 pm, and go until 11 pm. Who can bring consoles?
