CHICAGO 2016-2017 Thread: Welcome New Players, check out the Facebook Group page as its more active!

Actually I already talked to Keits, and between all of us he is planning a second major for us :). When he gets more info as towards dates and such he will need people to help run the event. YAY!!!

So, in short…this thread shows little interest in the southside, and NO interest in my fighting game podcast (none of y’all even acknowledged its existence when I mentioned it…twice).

My schedule is pretty random, but I tend to work nights and get out of work at 10something, which makes most outings (AFTER WORK, mind you) not worth it, 'cause of where I live. I think I might hit up Gameworks this Thursday though, since I have that day off.

What a waste of time and gas money

Uh oh…

Yeah I had a feeling it was a tad too sudden, but there is always next week.

Also people should show up to AreaXIII tomorrow.

I listened to the second episode, Kenny. Good sound quality. I was surprised. What exactly is the premise though? Also, is there an RSS feed for HCC? I couldn’t find it on the site.

yeah over an hour and a half to get there, hour+ to get home. Gas is expensive. =P

I listened to all those podcasts too.

Regarding meetups: South Side, North Side… I’ll be showing up somewhere. South would be great because as I work at the NBC tower, but if North is what’s happening then that’s what it is. As for podcasts, if they’re newbie oriented/friendly serve 'em up and I’ll be happy to digest them.

My TE stick is due Wednesday and I hope to get out regular so you guys can teach me how to use it. Gas is expensive for sure, sorry to hear things got canceled.

Would it be at all helpful (or is there already) a Chicago site for us? Something where RSS feeds can be set up, a calendar maintained for orginization, that sort of thing. Or are things too up in the air? I’d like to see things work out for as many people as possible because there is zero reason why Chicago/burbs shouldn’t have a strong community.

If you guys need help setting up a site, I can help with that.

I’m looking for a room for evo for 3 nights from thursday till sat night. Leaving on sunday.

^Talk to Arturo.

Thanks. The premise as I said in the first episode (somewhat) was basically a podcast about fighting games that anyone with an interest in the genre could get into, but I wanted to focus on what it’s like to play them and learn them, as well as talk about things that came from fighting game franchises (movies, anime, action figures, comics, etc…) and franchises that didn’t really have anything to do with fighting games, but when translated to a video game format…came to us in the form of a fighting game. So yeah…it’s more casual and fun than anything. Keits and Skisonic already have WakeUP SRK, so I didn’t want to compete with that talkin’ about pro shit.

There IS an RSS feed, but it will give you all of the podcasts hosted on the Audioshocker site. When Nick and I record this friday, I’m going to talk to him about possibly makin’ a side site just for HyperComboCast as well as some other ideas I have (we’re probably goin’ weekly after episode 4 drops).

I meant an RSS for meet ups. Going along with the whole “Our own site/calendar” thing. I can help setting up a site as well, which is why I asked. Just trying to help in any way I can.

Syxx seems to get screwed over a lot when it comes to driving out for gatherings and having them be cancelled/shitty.

Maybe it’s a curse.
