id definitely would attend northside gatherings, though twice a week might be bad. I usually avoid southside gatherings due to not having a car and not wanting to take the bus back late at night. also I doubt people will want to carry around setups if they are taking public transportation.

Evanstonian here. If something regular involving MvC3 happens somewhere nearby, I’d be down, and could probably bring 2 or 3 people a lot of the time.
I’d hit up a Northside Gathering at least once a week. MTG Chicago isn’t too hard for me to get to and get home from, so that’s a plus.
Southside gatherings would be tricky, probably wouldn’t be able to do it on a work day.
I’m from the southside but the northside is right off the Brown line and right into the red line from where I’m at plus my cousin works at the AT&T there. He is also excited about the news.

I live within a mile or two from the damen and lincoln (and Irving park) intersection. I’d be able to make it out on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday weekly barring unforeseen circumstances.
I probably wont go back there Dfly unless some people actually post on the boards that they are going to go. Specially if we end up just playing each other the whole night might as well go play somewhere else for free.

I dont have any games for it atm, was handed down to me by relatives that had bought it for strictly blue ray use and now have a blue ray player while it was collecting dust. When the disc version of AE comes out I may get it so I can play some of the PSN players but i really think i would rage over the PS USB Port lag with the net delay combined.
I actually want to trade it for a modded one so I can use it to play offline to get use to the delay and use my 360 strictly for online play. Playing locals on Xbox Live is the same lag as playing on a PS3 offline so i would never have to adjust.
hmmm indeed. I’ve never felt the touch of SF on xbox. if only i could convert PS3 controller to xbox. Do they make a mod to use PS3 controller on xbox?

I will for sure attend all northside gatherings been looking for something in the city sooo bad
because im so far east, both the northside and southside spots are 35 mins from me according to google maps…thats about 40 mins for the southside spot and 1+hour for the northside spot with traffic.
so id be down for hitting up the southside once or maybe even twice a week if it does end up happening that often…northside i would imagine attending no more than 2 or 3 times a month. but who knows, im down to check out both and see which one i like more but for right now im just making the decision based on driving.
and i hate to sound like a tool but i think a stream is just what some nerds need. i have friends who are decent at games but are too lazy to actually join me in trying to get better when i come out to play…yet they sit at home and dick ride spooky/ultradavid/whoever is on the mic. if chicago had a stream to stir up some hype, i bet youd see a lot more competition coming out and showing support. perhaps put an end to this “if youre really serious…move to a coast” talk you always see in the peaceful jay stream chat. chicago just may have the voice of mvc4 waiting to be discovered ::derp derp::
ive been itchin to try out chin in kofXIII, if people are going tomorrow give the heads up in a post…cause its kind of a drive for me plus the $15, so id only be interested in going if there were people there for that game in particular to learn some shit from.

I work at the NBC tower and live in Joliet. I can afford to spend 20ish a week on gatherings. I don’t have a problem hanging out in the city after work to up my game and get better (which won’t be hard as I’m super new). Obviously I’d have to link up with folk for transpo from whatever CTA/METRA I can take to nearest the venue. I’m def down to play any day other than Tuesday and Thursday. If that’s work-out-able, count me in for as a regular.

I’m a fan of SF but when I went to UFGT7 (since it was literally like 3 minutes from my house.) I wanted to jump into the whole scene.
