so why wouldn’t you get a TE still? Just because of price? With the mod talk you’re speaking of it sounds like you will spend just as much if not more money than on a TE.
I’m sure you can find one of the earlier generation TEs for cheap. Maybe even used/off ebay or something.

Dont get me wrong i want a TE and i can buy one it is just if i do i wont be able to get gas in my car for a while, lol. But when i think about it now it may be better to just get the best one instead of a cheap one, then if i like it get the best one. Thx guys.
my point was that you would be spending just as much if not more money by getting a slightly cheaper stick and then modding it as far as I can tell.
the earlier generation TEs are cheaper and are only ‘missing’ a couple not that important things. if you want sanwa and a solid stick all around that’s easily moddable for cheap I would say an early generation TE is your best bet.
I see what your saying, i’d just be wasting money modding when there may be a better option, I’m just going to get a tournament edition stick and just work a little more hours to pay it off. Thanks for the advice though

IMO go with the SE stick. No use wearing out good parts while you are getting acclimated with how the stick feels. Then once you feel good with it (or if you are like me and the stick breaks within two weeks) order some sanwa parts. The cost is about the same.
I still prefer the SEs compact size overall, but I’m quite certain I’m a minority in that department.

P.S. If you are new, its all good, and dont take everything too serious on these boards :)(as you can see I like to clown a lot), but I was kind of serious about the hosting thing. Definitely need more places to play at on the weekends. I was thinking of hitting up Game Pazzo or whatever to see if they could provide us with a place for Saturday Night casuals. Would a venue fee of say $10 be too much?

lansing eh? you’re not too far from me at all. 5 days out of the week im usually drunk in east chicago or highland. to be honest though, i dont play much MK9…i know a handful of sektor and reptile combos, but if you take the game serious then practicing with me would be a waste of time. im down for some ae, mvc3, or ah3 if you ever wanna give those a try. my stick isnt modded for 360 yet though, so itd have to be on ps3
i know its over a month away, but like i said before, they host punk and hardcore shows at Treasure Town so it has to be planned this far in advance…my buddy who lives on 21st and kedzie said hes down to have people over saturday, july 16th. so mark your calendars if youd like.
and actually, dude used to live in the upstairs apartment where a majority of the shows and band practices are held…but now moved into the first floor of the warehouse so their schedule isnt as tight, so he said he is more than willing to host once or twice a month from that date on. i know i have made similar posts in the old chicago thread and nothing ended up happening, but that was a combination of him living upstairs and competing with their schedule that revolved around helping touring bands…plus the days he hosted kinda clashed with everyone from this boards schedule…so yeah, this time seems a bit more promising
also, me and my girl are apartment hunting and im definitely on the prowl for spacious dining rooms to try and host…but that would require everyone to be down to come even further south than 21st street haha cause we’re not looking to go any further north than 89th. deep souf side sessions.
