Also thanks for the advice Tactics
CHICAGO 2016-2017 Thread: Welcome New Players, check out the Facebook Group page as its more active!
No problem, I just did the same and looked up the new characters data. I am trying to memorize everyone’s frame data.
Also does anyone know exactly how many more frames you get on counter hit?
IIRC +1 for lights and +3 for medium and heavy, not sure if this was changed in Super though but I doubt it
FYI, hitboxes are allowed in all EVO tournaments.
The only reason they would get banned is that people all have the idea that you can block left/right simultaneously. I don’t know what boards you can do that with, but mine isn’t like that. It just registers a neutral input when you press left/right together. The “Hitbox” brand hitboxes use either PS360 or Cthulhu boards, and they both register “left” when you press left and right together.
It’s really just a preference thing. My hands stay in one spot, and my execution is a lot cleaner than it used to be.
I would still like to try a hitbox that has normal 30mm buttons, though. The 24mm ones are definitely small for my taste.
i believe boards based off of ps1 and ps2 can do that
I suck so bad at SSF4AE… fuck my life.
nothing like getting blown up by day 2 yuns :(, 360 players lets get some games in, gt’s: ill cosby87
aww shit i just got toad face’d!
yeah, but my previous password is the same password i use for literally everything and have been using since like 10th grade. i changed it to the first thing i thought of just for the sake of jumping back online.
also, this must be the Day 1 Blues…but i think im gunna hold off on blanka and vega. dee jay was always third in line to them, but im 2 hours in and im loving him in AE haha
Except they’re not just top tier.
I dunno, I think I’m just so bored of the SF4 mechanic that even AE doesn’t hold interest for me. It makes it even worse knowing it will literally be a Yun winning all major tourneys from here on out. I thought playing Oni might be kind of fun, and figuring out his links is indeed kind of cool, but in the end I’ll just continue to rock chun because I just can’t keep interest enough to care about learning anyone new.
The whole rest of the cast is balanced as hell, but they broke the game with the twins. No more patches will happen according to Capcom, this is it, end of SF4.
I’m kind of glad I’m swamped with projects, because honestly SFxT is the only game that looks appealing atm, well…that and skullgirls might be pretty cool I suppose. MK is fun but they just keep patching shit to no end so unless you keep up with the changes it’s silly to pour time into it until they stop and let it rest a bit.
Lets see, my impression so far: the twins are overrated as I suspected, I mean yes they are solid but their defense and low stamina isn’t difficult to crack. I’ve defeated all the Yuns and Yangs I’ve played in rank so far and most of the Evil Ryus. He is underrated in my opinion, he does everything Ryu does but better at the cost of low health, he can zone better, his low forward is better (true blockstring and longer range), better dmg output (obviously lol, he can easily net around 300+ dmg and 400+ with meter), his teleport isn’t as good as Akuma but if you use wisely/sparingly you can escape with it at the right times. Oni I’m not too sure, I guess he still has potential with his resets/mixups and what not or so it seem, but I’m not sure as it just base on matches I’ve seen (speculation), even then it’s kinda gimmicky I guess(isn’t knowledgeable about him) only played 1 Oni and he wasn’t good. C Viper and Zangief are what still gives me serious trouble.
All and all though, I was kinda pumped about AE but after 2 days it kinda meh (boring), but really after day 1. Probably since SFIV been the main fighting game I been playing for 2 years and technically the only one. So idk, I guess I’ll be playing on and off, but it wasn’t long before my drive died out lol.
Watching Offcast. Frankie is commentating BBCS at WNF with James Xie.
I had no idea Frankie was going to Revelations! Good luck to Frankie at WNF and Revelations!
I also heard ReyArt is at WNF. Good luck to him too!
i don’t think that day 1 yun or yang isn’t really a great impression to go by…
the top players in the US will still win with whoever they decide to play
anyway i know how you feel, like i can’t even take mvc3 that seriously. It is fun as fuck but also too goofy. I’m holding out for SC5 myself, and also TTT2 in December or maybe January.
sako ibuki combos = sick
^Arthur with a 2 game win streak on Sako = sicker.
Too bad most of the people here play so unsafe that most of the stuff Sako does is not usable aside from some really nice frame traps and spacing/whiff punishing. I learned so many new frame traps for her ae changes it was an awesome stream.
Who’s ready to show off what they’ve learned in the lab at GW? I’m not, but I’m fkin going anyways.
Thanks! =D
If you missed it, I played vs Sakonoko tonight at WNF, watch the archived footage here (starts @ 10:50): http://bit.ly/m1e4F4
Arthur the Justin Wong AND Sako killer!!
and yet shin wolverine beats reyart in a 3/5 set… shinwolve > reyart > justin > sako
