So, I was going to come here and complain that my PS3 still sucks and now my Xbox360 is about to RROD. Also got that free copy of SSF4AE for PC and the download client keeps crashing.
Right as I was about to hit Post Reply my computer got a BSOD.
For. Fucks. Sake.
Did mk make u a violent person? They blamed that game in the 90s and it seems like it’s a relevant problem to this day.
Actually any annoying platformer game caused me to be more violent than any shooter/gorey game.
Tedious platforming with horrid controls takes the cake. Especially in fps. Turok 1 comes to mind…level 7 uggggghhhh
If there is GGA tonight anyone interested in a quick sbo format 2v2? Cough I want vega on my team!
Every MOTHERFUCKER in this Chicago thread, especally to those that don’t like to lose or can’t handle a loss (if they feel like the player is inferior to them) should read Kineda’s article(TRUST ME IT’S QUITE A FEW OF YOU. ITS TO THE POINT THEY START TO BITCH ABOUT YOUR PLAYSTYLE, HOW THEY LOSE DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES THAT ARE NOT EVEN GAMEPLAY CIRCUMSTANCES, OTHER BULLSHIT ETC).
You know who you are. Your asses gets all tight when you begin to lose. you perk up from your chair and throw excuses out.
It is self explanitory especially to those who preach too much about the randomness of certain players, how knowledge of the game is the only way to improve and be good, and other bullshit that gets preached around this board.
I don’t even need to say names, YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE.( If you feel salty!!! GOOD!!! Then spead the word on this article) Keep playing your matchups.
Play solid and textbook LOL. DAMN, i sound like a tape recording of some of you!
All I got to say is BINGO BINGO BINGO BINGO BINGO BINGO!!!
Here is a link for those who are too lazy to find it!!!:
CHICAGO, TOO FUNNY!!!
I’m happy with the way this went at the GGA Tournament on Wednesday! I thought it was great. Hopefully it knocked a few people off their High Horse cause its overdue. Come back to planet earth. It’s ok.
Chicago should not have an Hierarchy. We all suck broskies!!! Too funny!
Fuck your EGO!
I’ll quote myself from GGA, I like high Arturo better.
Isn’t that the id’s job?
^^ most of the people in the scene are not good enough to have that article apply to them.
Right on, I’ve found that Mario Kart makes me more violent than MK.
That article is dumb, it refers to casual matches which are fucking worthless. I know I get bored of dealing with the same retarded jab mashing specially if I blow it up and the player refuses to stop doing it. If a player doesn’t want to make progress then go ahead and read that dumb ass article, it has its points but going by how well you do in casuals against any player hardly matters, playing with guys screaming, a stream, a more nervous atmosphere in general is where you prove your worth.
I think that article spends to much time talking about mashing out DPs and not enough about the meat of the issue, which I think can be summed up thusly: It does you no good to gloss over your own shortcomings by blaming anyone other than yourself for a loss.
The only thing that can upset me in a match is if I’m not performing the way I’d like to. If I’m dropping combos, letting myself get caught in traps that I should’ve seen a mile away, things like that, I can get a little salty, but I’m always careful to direct the salt at myself and never at my opponent.
^ yep pretty much. I didn’t think too highly of it personally. and I hope this doesn’t have players try to validate their random DP wins against other mediocre players. overall, the solid parts of play will trump the randomness/“risks”.
and just because a player pointing out your randomness/mashing is losing…that doesn’t necessarily invalidate his point in the grand scheme of things.
and what of the people who don’t lose to random DPers and point it out?
I thought the article had a point, but everything when picked apart can be ‘wrong advice’ in certain situations. That article is aimed at a really specific group (mid to upper skill level, gets fucking salty) and a really specific tactic (random DPs) but the general point is fine.
Don’t get pissed off if you lose, just figure out why you lost. If you can’t beat a person who uses lame tactic XYZ then you need to change your strategy some. No point in making excuses and insulting the person you’re playing.
If you decide to give advice to the person you are playing, win or lose, its their decision to take the advice or not. It definitely helps if the advice isn’t worded like an insult to their play and an excuse for your loss, and it also helps if you can show them with a sound beating why they should listen.
I am all for whatever wins in tournament play, but in casuals, who cares really, I use it to train opponents and almost always will give up the 2nd round to train them or test their offense(ill try to block almost everything). That article does indeed have much good info though, I use to get so pissed off at BP / Arthur play but I find myself doing better by giving them credit for beating me with their style in tournament play. I decided that I had to go to training room and practice better frametraps / OS / footies in order to beat a style that is just meant to irritate me to no end. I am definitely doing better and better each time as well provided I still will choke but the progress is definitely there.
Quick announcement:
[S]There is no official gathering at Galloping Ghost Arcade tonight.[/S]
Disregard. See below.
See everyone tomorrow at Chicago Heart.
Yes next week the extra gathering night will resume. Also stay tuned for our tournament schedule/gathering schedule which should cover all the way till September 14th.
If you want a tournament for a Poverty game(superBBCS2turbo, GGXXAC, AH3, MB, KOF13, CvS2 or anything really) on our casual nights all you have to do is send me a PM or Email to domingoayala3@gmail.com and we will get it set.
I only get mad at myself for making critical mistakes like dropping genei jin combos, fucking up inputs, etc.
I beat myself up more than anything.
Tactics are you implying that I mash. Oh wait I do mash. If you lose to mashers you need to play online more.
Would you guys like the Idea of doing a tournament once a month at GGA on Saturdays(end of the month tournament or something like that), the cover would remain at $15 per person but you would be able to enter every tournament at no extra cost and we could do tournaments for lots of games not just the top 3? Just an idea, let me know what you guys think!
BP you mean they need to play on Xbox Live more cause at least you can play that, playing on PSN will just make you want to stab someone.
