Check Out My New Arcade Stick! (No Image Quoting)

China.
And eBay.
NIKING.NIKING sells them.

Thanks for the answers.

I posted this on my WICO inquiry thread so I figured I’d post it here too.

My old school MAS. Old layout was nasty, dried up sweat and shit so I ripped it out and stuck some kind of vinyl wallpaper. Got a little crazy with the electrical tape, but thank goodness the wallpaper is black and blue so the electrical doesn’t look too crazy.

HAPP comp stick (will change it to a WICO 360 soon)
6x HAPP convex’s
2x HAPP plugs
2x HAPP concave w/player start plunger

Out of curiosity are there any pics of a sanwa white meshtop on an actual stick? I’m trying to decided whether to get one and don’t know how well the ā€œmeshā€ shows up on the white.

the white meshtops hardly show up at all you have to really look to see the mesh sorry dont have a pic

Didn’t you just post a modded mayflash that used a TE comic con template but still had the button labels on it? so it had like xbox button labels in the wrong spot (no where near the actual buttons, for a PS3 stick? LOL

^It was that new Datel stick that runs on 360 and PS3.

My TE that I modded with just a simple swap of new buttons, and Meshball. Full plexi from Arthong in the future, but in the back of my mind, I’m going to miss the red border that compliments the buttons/stick… maybe I’ll add in some red border/lines in the artwork itself when I get the full plexi.

Good looking stick, horrid camera.

Sorry, only camera I got is the one on my phone:shy:

b-boy tekken omg, please keep me updated on that aluminum ball top!! how are you producing these btw, if you don’t mind telling?

I’m pretty gutted :frowning:

Lack of experience, lack of knowledge and to a very large extent lack of patience has meant this stick is never going to be amazing…

I guarantee I’ve put a lot more time and certainly as much effort into this as the bigger boys like Byrdo, Ecksnine, B15 Broken and others put into theirs, but I guess that’s why they’re the immortals and I’m just a bloke in a garage :stuck_out_tongue:

For example today, I wanted to just sand a little off the ends of the pieces along the width of the stick, I obviously had to vice them and I was very conscious that I didn’t want to mark the paint, so I wrapped the piece in several layers of a bath towel before I viced it.
When I took it out of the vice there are massive imprints of towel in the lacquer that I clearly haven’t given enough time to set. :frowning: I swear I could have cried!!! lol

Anyway, it’s gluing overnight and tomorrow I’ll put the metal corner brackets in that will hold it together properly.

It’s a nice concept for the stick and will look nice once I have my simple art printed and stuck on top, but any amount of close inspection (joins, paint in general etc…) will reveal numerous mistakes and oversights.

Not put me off though, just made me more intent on making a better one next time

More progress pics coming tomorrow…

EDIT:The marks around the button hole are from the washers actually sticking to the laquer!! I was able to unscrew the button from inside the nut, but the nut was still stuck to the CP! Another thing that made me sad today, but not too bad as it’ll be hidden by the nut anyway…

Hope this is alright to post here as I know it’s not really a discussion thread per say…
Didn’t think it warranted a thread of its own.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with Byrdo? I’ve tried via his website and not had a reply, so I don’t know if that means he’s not taking comissions or he simply didn’t get my e-mail…

I’ve decided, I need a top tier custom. Not because I’m good enough at any game to use one, just because I’m really into these things and have admired them for literally years now.

I’ve set my sights on Byrdo for the following reasons, but if anyone has better suggestions after reading feel free to give em!

I want really nicely carpentered stained polished wood (because my ability limits me to using MDF and a lot of paint and filler to cover my mistakes!!), so that leaves out B15 as he is all about unbelievable paint jobs and Broken as he is all acrylic.
I was torn between Byrdo and Ecksnine, as I’ve more recently admired Ecks work and as an example his stick a few posts above is exactly the kind of standard I am so impressed by. But Byrdo was the reason I decided I wanted to make a quality stick and definately the guy I was blown away by in the first place.
I guess it’s a bit like notalgia, because as good as anyone else is, I’d never heard of them before I was made aware of the ā€˜scene’ by Byrdo’s sticks.

One problem with that being that I want it dual modded and I hear he did one and decided it wouldn’t be worth doing another!!! True or rumour??

I’d look in to Kaytrim’s sticks, he does gorgeous wood work too

if you want a byrdo you have to be patient as he only takes a limited amount of orders. I recently comissioned him to do my 2nd stick from him. I described to him basically what i wanted in my email (not sure if that helps) or maybe he has simply not checked his email recently hes a very busy guy. I highly recommend his work as I have yet to play on a stick with better construction than his.

I’d be happy to speak with you regarding a custom stick.

Xmetal: I will deff keep everybody posted on the aluminum ball and bat tops. I had a SF legend try it out last night and it had weight on it making it go back to nuetral was the show stopper. I have to go and find some lighter material. I work at a machine shop and to get this type of work done pretty easy. It’s the material I wish I could get a discount on. I will post pics up soon. It was just a teaser and I really like the response they did. But I have a bigger and better project coming soon. That’s where I’m putting all my hopes up.

drill small holes into what you have now? it’s not like you’re going to weaken the structure. it’s metal!

What do you mean?

Does the weight cause the shaft to move in ways not intended?

Does the shaft NOT return to neutral…like teh ball weighs so much that it hols the stick left or right or whatever?

'splain…

OOPS…

Nevermind…I

I’ll revoke my offer to build a stick.

Just got an infraction from Valaris…

I totally thought that today was 6 months.

Sorry everybody.
