Check Out My New Arcade Stick! (No Image Quoting)

Y’all making me jealous.

Woah there…somebody doesn’t like constructive feedback.

Dude, one thing to lear about SRK…if you get burned, just take it…beacuse fighting back makes the flames even more fierce.

Down-Right+Fierce to be exact.

Learn from this and grow…it’s good!

Thanks to SRK, ecKsniNe, Slagcoin, Lizardlick and RDC over at xbox-scene for the resources!

WoW! That has got to be the best Ecks9 stick I’ve ever seen.

Damn I love that 2 tone look with the Wenge and curly maple, he even used some in the corner blocks now that attention to detail! Very nice stick. Seems I’m not the only one with a few tricks up their sleeve

Versus Addict- that stick is crazy!!! Damn, that box is gorgeous.
Yo ecksnine, where you at? I haven’t seen you post in a minute…

This made me laugh hardcore.

And while I agree the stick does look off, it’s clean as hell. And besides, DBZ is known for the over the top lens flare and explosion shit, so Vegeta being in there didn’t look out of place at all to me.

Also, love that Q stick, did you stain it or anything?

Haha…you trying to tell me about how SRK works. Don’t flatter yourself.

There was no constructive criticism, there were multiple posts straight up bitching from 08 and 09 juniors coming here talking mad shit like they’re the next hottest shit in media design. Nobody (including you) said shit about the overall modding effort on that stick, like the changed button placement, turbo slot or lamilabel. Not a single mention. Nor did any of the “critics”.

Either way, this thread is a shadow from its former self. I’m done…unless you want to challenge me to a stick building competition or something where we get judged on ALL features…including art. You game? Raeli?

Great Q stick, mate. I was eyeing that artwork up on Deviantart just yesterday, thinking a Q stick would be fairly original. XD
Chamba is a great talent.
Yeah, what happened to Ecks? Did he grow a new thumb yet?

Lovely new stick too, Mat. Digging it very much.

Are you seriously still going?

(back on topic)

Look at that stick by ecksnine…

THAT’s cohesive design…

Well done ecks… I swear…everytime I post a stick, ecksnine or B15 or Br0ken or Voltech come up in here and post one of your bad ass sticks…

It wasn’t even one of them that posted this time and STILL one of their sticks steals the show!..

It’s like being the opening band for the Beatles or something.

Sheesh!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Good work, ecks.
Congrats Versus…great decision…I like the art, don’t see him a lot.
Where’s the lens flares?

Thanks Broken…heh…I was just talking about you…

Ok, here I go again, befouling the thread.

I’ve had two sticks in the works for a bit, trying to improve my woodwork, which I think is slightly better (shame that can’t be said for my wiring).

The first has a PS1 pcb, Myoungshin fanta, and crown buttons. Unfortunately I can’t use it fully as one of the buttons seems to be malfunctioning, it’s constantly ‘on’ no matter how I try to solder the connections. Tekken based doodle art, because I still don’t have a printer!

The stick may be mounted incorrectly, but it had to be this way for clearance inside the case.

shocking wire job…

The next one is a mini, all seimitsu 24mm buttons, LS-33 octo. Not wired yet, probably going with a cthulhu for space reasons. Please excuse the art on this one also, I made it for use with the Pandora handheld (when it arrives) and tried to make it themed.

Just finished my new stick. Inspired by Seppun, with tech assist from TingBoy, Toodles, and Upas. Standing on the shoulders of giants, as they say.

Shitty Cell Phone pic for non-fb peoples (+1 Lens Flare for relavency)

just a note if people dont have facebook they cant see your new stick

No you see, that would be classified as parody in my opinion, and therefore would be hilarious.

What I was referring to with “the lens-flares are physically impossible” is that those lens-flares are independent of the suspension of belief involved with characters that can throw fireballs. Sure, there’s a guy who can throw fireballs and a chick who can spin like a top through the air upside down. The rest of the created universe, however, is arguably life-like; of most importance in this argument, light and shadow behave pretty realistically. Why shouldn’t a camera and lens flares in that universe (in this case, the viewpoint of the player, what he/she sees on the television) behave similarly? Makes sense, right? At the same time, I feel that any artistic design that incorporates realistic elements or elements that are based off of real life (the characters on the stick) should probably do the same.

Lens flare is caused by unwanted internal reflection and scattering of light inside a camera lens; there can only be one lens flare, large or small, within a single lens. The design of the artwork on that case can only be viewed from one vantage point, since there is only one “frame” for it (the surface of the panel). This is also commonly referred to as a “camera angle” for obvious reasons. Hence, there is no reason for there to be two artificial lens flares in the design; I’m not going to even go into my personal grudges with how tacky it looks.

Sorry for ranting and starting a ridiculous argument.

LOLOL…man at first I thought “damn is that an LED or something thats bright as fuck” haha. too funny

@minifoo

ridiculous arguments spawn some of the best entertainment on the internet. no apologies necessary lol

I see someone is trying to one up Kreee but using clear Seimitsus.

Cool sticks. For the Fanta, you could try to use bolts as mounting plates to lower the body. The cylinder is supposed to be 1-2mm over the plexi. If there isn’t enough clearance inside, you can buy 1/4 inch acrylici just over the left side, I’m guessing you could try to route a bevel for that second layer of plexi, make it a unique two height stick.

In case of some confusion. I’m not planning on selling my sticks. Just wanted to share what Mods Sticks I’ve bought. I am planning to sell the Aluminum Ball and Bat tops soon. Sorry if I miss lead anybody. These sticks are to sweet to let go. = )

Where the hell did you get a bubbletop like that?

They’re all over eBay. Here’s one.
