Hey guys, thanks to your help I decided to do a simple mod, I replaces the 6 kick/punch buttons with Sanwa OBSF-30s, and kept the standard stick replaces the square gate with the GT-Y octo gate.
Think I’ll get a Seimitsu LS-56 soon as I’m not keen on the large throw I’ve currently got, but the octo gate has really helped, I can now to the supers and ultras more easily, but I still need more practice (I’m on my 2nd week with the SE now).
i finished the art to my stick, stick has purple battop with purple seimetsu buttons
now, all i can do is have sexy dreams about it haha. gonna get it printed out from staples super high quality and sexy board paper or something like that.
sexy
also, my bad for not reducing the resolution haha… wooow thats huge
FYI:
Unfortunately that diagram doesnt really address the mounting/height issue that the pivot fulcrum remains too close to the top of the case and as such will not perform like a properly mounted stick.
Well I finally finished mine after waiting with prepared art and paint job. My buttons came in a few days ago! This is my first attempt at customizing a stick and let me tell you it is fun! I want to do another one or I wish I could build my own!
Do you like my crappy dust cover? I cut it out of a plastic binder because I don’t have the drill bits to cut out a perfect one! LAWL :looney:
I disagree. I’ve been using it and feel no difference. The mounting height does not change the throw of the stick and this can only matter dependent on the way you grip the ball. Mount low, mount high, the throw does not change.
However, I use a washer to heighten the upper half so the throw on my stick is indeed a tad higher, but super negligible.
That is an extremely pleasant and well-thought out design. I like it a lot! I didn’t even notice that the dust cover was a bit rough around the edges until I read about it. How did you color the shaft red, with paint? If so, and the stick were actually used, the paint would probably start to flake and/or wipe off from HARDCORE SWEATING. A clear coat or three might help with that, though. Otherwise, that’s a great stick!
I love seeing what people are able to do with QCF’s cases, especially, in this case, the unfinished MDF variety.
I know that that paintjob was probably a strenuous affair, over several days I’m guessing.
Way to stick it out, MDF is a bot full of bitches to paint up, and takes mad patience. The stick looks hot as fire… I really like the Happ + Blast city layout. East meets west huh?
Congrats on your Byrdo.
I have great respect for his builds, but honestly I’m just not a fan of what appears to be his signature form factor.
To each their own, I guess…he sells way more sticks than me, so…
What kind of wood is that? Looks like maybe a figured maple?
Anyway, congratulations!
Mad props on the Mai stick…well done!
I’m not a fan of hearts and stuff, but my taste is irrelevant in regards to the cohesion of your design. VERY WELL DONE.
I’ve wanted to do a Mai stick for a while, but have not been able to settle on the art \ layout.
Are you fucking joking?
If you ARE, it’s not funny.
BTW - DON’T CLICK THE LINK THIS ASSHOLE INCLUDED. It’s some bullshit annoying website that maxxes out your speakers and tries to print a bunch of gay porn, or something…There were naked dudes, and Barney and Ronald McDonald…
Okay, the stick has an UPCB with a xbox360 piggyback. Long time ago that I’m seeing a UPCB in a stick
I’ve connected a usb button select directly to the stick. Out of the box this stick supports
xbox1 : press LP and LK while connecting the stick
xbox360 : press HP and HK while connecting the stick
PS3 : Default
Update of the stick firmware is possible via bootloader pressing start and select.
When changing the cable this stick could support all kind of other consoles like Playstation 1 and 2, Gamecube, Wii, Sega Master, NES, SNES and many many more. This makes the stick modular and updateable.
Here’s my modded SE. I went with a simple vewlix layout. I bought the case with stick and buttons but no pcb so I inserted a ps1 pcb. It was amazingly easy to do, no soldering whatsoever! I also have a modded hori ex2 (shown below). Pics are taken on an iphone so they’re not the greatest quality
