That is an extremely pleasant and well-thought out design. I like it a lot! I didn’t even notice that the dust cover was a bit rough around the edges until I read about it. How did you color the shaft red, with paint? If so, and the stick were actually used, the paint would probably start to flake and/or wipe off from HARDCORE SWEATING. A clear coat or three might help with that, though. Otherwise, that’s a great stick!

Haha! I actually had some dupli-color spray left over and I was considering painting one of the black dust washers with it but I decided it would look obvious it was painted and probably rub off on the art after wear and tear/useage. I bought the shaft cover from Akihabara shop and I watched that video where you can bore out some of the inside of the shaft cover to fit on the JLF stick. You know it’s weird that the buttons and the shaft cover and the balltop are all from seimitsu and are all considered “red” but they are like different variations of the color. I wish the buttons were a nice rich red like the balltop is. They look like they have a hint of orange and I hate it!

Okay, the stick has an UPCB with a xbox360 piggyback. Long time ago that I’m seeing a UPCB in a stick

I’ve connected a usb button select directly to the stick. Out of the box this stick supports

• xbox1 : press LP and LK while connecting the stick
• xbox360 : press HP and HK while connecting the stick
• PS3 : Default

Update of the stick firmware is possible via bootloader pressing start and select.

When changing the cable this stick could support all kind of other consoles like Playstation 1 and 2, Gamecube, Wii, Sega Master, NES, SNES and many many more. This makes the stick modular and updateable.

@Toodles : Your upcb is still one of the best.

Yep the extra wire is 3.3v to power the Ascii stick. Someone was cool enough to point it out in the Namco thread. I thought I was going to have to use a different PCB.

Awesome job on the QCF case!

I love seeing what people are able to do with QCF’s cases, especially, in this case, the unfinished MDF variety.

I know that that paintjob was probably a strenuous affair, over several days I’m guessing.

Way to stick it out, MDF is a bot full of bitches to paint up, and takes mad patience. The stick looks hot as fire… I really like the Happ + Blast city layout. East meets west huh?

More like weeks! I don’t have a garage or anything, so I had to paint outside. It gets so dark here by 5 that I really only painted on the weekends. Its got 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of red with about a week in between most of the coats. I still want to do some more red and mirror it up a bit, but its too cold now, and I can’t spray paint if it is below 10C.
