I also set out to have a stick design no one else would ever be crazy enough to use.
This is pre-art, I’m not sure what direction I want to take the art. I was thinking of hand brushing some sort of floral design on it but I’m not so sure of my ability to paint.
it’s a JLF with octogon and sanwa OBSF30’s, with a hacked 360 fightpad.
I currently don’t have a back or start button because I used the buttons on another project. . .
the 4 buttons in the middle are an alternate d-pad set-up. . . someone on these forums (whose name now escapes me) coined it as a punch-pad on his stickless arcade stick. So, mad props to whoever that was for giving me the idea.
also, New Brunswick Selection Beer for sense of scale. . .
I imagine you’re not going to be carrying that thing around right? lol. Surprised there is no cup holder near the top for your drinks.
This aught to fit the bill. It is even powered by a USB plug.

Nice Byrdo. Haven’t seen one in a while…
I wonder what he used for the grippy looking material on the bottom of the stick:

I’ve been looking for something like this that can be cut and screwed on. Anyone know what it is?
Check the craft supply stores. I know you can get sticky felt there. Who knows what else you can find. You could also try the home centers and auto part stores for a drawer liner that would do what you want.
Michael
I am using Rust-o-lium “Hammered Black” finish which looks sort of like wrought iron.
beautiful arcade stick man, the viewlix art fits nicely with the cocobolo, but then again anything you put on a stevetren box will look good. lol.
interesting, i would very like to see how that turns out.
nice i see you cleaned up the wiring, it looks alot better.
Hi!

My PS3 stick. Compliments to Art’s Hobbies for the Plexi, Lizard Licks for the buttons and SRK template thread for uploading the template. I cant remember who uploaded it but it was someone with a Charlie avatar. Once again thank you for uploading the image. I have another TE stick for 360 that I’m still working on.
The template was by MIV, the guy’s a machine.
coolllllllllll
I’m definitely liking the “Black Comic-con” look.
Stick Collection
I wanted to share a pic of my stick collection.

- NHTran Black Aluminum case. Madcatz 360, Dual Modded MC Cthulhu
JLF, Sanwa Clear RGs,
Replaced Acrylic with matte finish Acrylic, really comfortable surface on the hands, and hand oil/ sweat crust doesn’t build up on it like the usual acrylic. This is my stick that I use to actually play. Used to have wood grain contact paper.
2)NHTran Blue Aluminum case Madcatz 360, Dual Modded MC Cthulhu
LS-56-01 , PS 14-KNs, Light up mod
-
The original Breifcase Metal Stick. Mostly Sanwa.

Hori Wii stick. Took out buttons and put them in #13. Put in buttons from #4. Going to mod this with TE buttons from #6, but no reason to until TvC comes stateside.
-
TE with Seimitsu Buttons. Waiting on Arthong Etched Plexi and art.
7)Agetec Modded with an LS-56-01. Stock every thing else.

Quickshot Twinsticks. For Virtual On OT Works on xbox 360 and saturn with internal DB-25 port to switch PCBs. Also works with Dreamcast with Total Control 3.
-
Nintendo DS case that was bundled with my DS lite preorder. Blaze stick from #10 and Hori Wii buttons. Upgraded stick with new JLF spring and Heatshring tubing around actuator. Feels like a little stiffer LS-33 now. DB-25 port cross compatible with other project box sticks.
14)Quick and Dirty Sega Saturn Stick. JLF and Sanwa Screwins. Happ Ultimates on the sides. Don’t worry, I hacked a Model 1 US Phat Saturn Pad instead of a Model 2.
15)Ikaruga Stick. LS-32-01 and Seimtisu buttons. MC Cthulhu rj-45. Happ Clear rims with competition plungers on the sides. Wooden ball top.
-
Trusty old Happ Competition joystick from 1998. White button switches (as opposed to the red Cherrys) and Happ competions. This was my fighting stick for quite a long time. Maybe the 3rd case made for these parts. First it was put in a speaker box, then a piece of lumber tied to the speaker box.
-
Neo Geo Pocket Modded Stick. LS-40 and Seimitsu buttons. Still need to finish getting turbo to work and figure out how to secure NGPC but still easily removable for changing game or batteries. Oh he feel asleep inside there.

That’s an obscene amount of sticks, man. The missus moans at me about a single Hori, a custom stick and a RB drum kit being in the way.
I’ve been meaning to get rid of like half of them, but it is so hard to choose which ones have to go. It was fun making and modding them, and trying all types of possible combinations.
The problem is, what ever price I would sell them for it always seems like I sell them for too little.
The problem is that no one will know about the accuracy, responsiveness and comfort of your sticks unless they play them for themselves. Pics don’t cut it. I bought one of your sticks and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s my traveling stick to and from work. I can get biz with my Ken and my Guile with this stick. Thanks again.:lovin: GL trying to part with them, I understand.
BTW- my wife would kill me if I had that many sticks in one place.
That Byrdo custom looks awesome Tiggy. What kind of wood is that? Cherry?
Next time my wife says “What do you need ANOTHER stick for!!! You are obsessed!”…
…I’m showing her YOUR collection, that should allow me to get at least one more stick before I am considered clinically insane.
