Definitely did a good job with the dual mod. I guess I’m the not only pioneer to work on QCF cases.
My first Korean Stick
Thanks goes to SpizyN00dles for just randomly giving me the “Fanta” stick. I think he said it was a Myoungshin, but I am not sure. Also have crown buttons for the main 6, 2 radio shack buttons above strong and Fierce for L1 and L2, thanks Zeetes for telling me where to get them. Happ buttons on the front, since they don’t fit in the back, not with the button placed close to the top of the case.

I used a matte black acrylic from Tap plastics. The matte surface feels really good on my hands and I’m taking a liking over the egg textured surface of the matte acrylic over the polished feel of the acrylic surface on most sticks. Only thing is no art underneath since it is opaque. Also on the case I hand sawed out dovetail joints, No router, just a lot of cursing and filing when it didn’t quite fit right. I had to start over on one of the sides when it split as I tried to mallet hammer the dovetails together on one side.

Not sure I like the feel of Korean sticks though. They got a large dead zone and the corners are harder for me to hit. The tough rubber makes it harder for me to quickly hit a super or Ultra Motion.
I have a DB-25 port on the back compatible with my other projects boxes on my DB-25 Happ Comp stick.

Joystick was mounted into 1/4" MDF under 1/8" Black Acrylic. Added a nut and 2 washers as spacers to mount stick to proper height.

Bottom. Wooden looking rubber feet. Wiring is a hot mess and you will never know what it looks like.

GET READY FOR THE BAttle!
Technically, that was the prototype
I remember seeing that stick before, and it looks just as amazing as the first time I saw it. Amazing work by Broken English, that is such a unique looking custom, congrats on owning that beauty Mr. Yuppy!
You know I like the wiring on the dual mod, really clean work in a small space. Covering the mounting holes was also a nice touch (I agree with you on the exposed screws). I have seen a few of these cases and for the prime stock they use I think it would be really cool to see some woodburning design done to the cases. There was an antique sale down the street from my house which had some really old western style jewelry boxes that looked very similar and had some really original burnt desgins done around the sides, which I think would look awesome with these cases.
Great job on the pimping! (sprinkles some baby powder)
- And great job on the case QCF! (you get a sprinkle too)
Thanks for the powdering old friend. I think that would be neat too, I wonder if you could get some kind of stencils. Or even burn with some kind of CNC method? That would be pretty cool. Kind of like acid etching, only with wood.
Actually, that box that ecksnine bought is slightly larger than the Zelda stick you dual modded for me. My box was the first prototype and is smaller. It’s only about 7" X 5.5" inches of space to work with =)
Nice to see something a bit different from you, Ecks. The earlier Mai stick is hot sauce, though. The grain in the wood is really, really nice.
Great job on the wiring of that Balrog stick, Yuppy. I wish I could work wonders with wiring.
There’s been some pretty damn impressive sticks and projects on show the past few pages. It looks like people are really upping their game.
Thanks bro. It’s too bad you are across the ocean from me, I would love to see how you make those amazing Acrylic sticks. Maybe you should make a video or something??? That would be awesome!
Yeah Broken, That Balrog box you made for "Yuppy is insane. Very impressive!!!

i will soon mod my blaze. i found out very easy way to mod it. But i never thought the damn thing would be so thin and light
Heh, thanks. I don’t think my broad Yorkshire accent lends itself well to commentaries, though.
I’ll take a few pics of my next WIP once it’s underway.
